Chapter 24
Lewis and his three friends split the JN23 bomb into four. Lewis and Armando each got 3 pieces. While Hilda and Gaby each get 2 pieces. Each bullet was given 20 seeds. They really shouldn't waste the weapons they have.
Today most zombies roam downtown. It was as if something was pulling them together to gather there. Although in the suburbs there are also still zombies, but they are very few and rarely even found wandering at night. Either they still like to hide or they are no longer in the area.
Armando is driving the car this time. They have to pave the way to the Geophysical Laboratory that's clean of zombies. This they had to do in order to make it easier when visiting the Dungeon that was there. After all, transportation to get there must be smooth without obstacles. So that when taking the carcass flowers are very large they can carry it safely and smoothly, so that the process of making serum is also faster.
"Hey, why does it feel lonely tonight? Have the zombies in the region been destroyed by the military?" gaby asked while looking out the windshield.
The situation there looks quiet and dark. Only the light from the moon illuminated there. Usually if the sun has set the zombies will roam outside the building looking for prey.
"No. We've agreed to divide which areas we're going to explore and wipe out the zombies. This is done so as not to clash," Lewis replied.
The tall, slightly thin young man had also seen the state of the city tonight. He also actually felt astonished because there was not a single zombie that appeared.
"Yes. Do not let us both clean one place, while the other place there are still many zombies wandering," continued Armando who is still focused on driving occasionally his gaze circled to several points on the road.
"Isn't that already one of the plans when doing the zombie extermination from the past?" This time Hilda spoke.
The plan tonight is Lewis and his friends will do zombie eradication in the office district. However, there was not a single zombie there. So, they decided to go around one round in the area while observing the situation in that place.
"They are not visible at all. Did we go down and check inside the building?" armando asked while looking at his friends.
"Yes, that's better."
They also agreed to check inside the building. The four people broke into a private bank that had a very large and tall building. The teenagers are on standby if any zombies come.
The room was in chaos. Chairs are everywhere. The floor is filled with paper. Right now the situation in the room was pitch dark so they had to light a flashlight.
"Aren't there any lights on here?" gaby asked whispering to Armando.
"In this area the lights have been extinguished to save electricity" replied Armando.
Gaby nodded, too, he knew that some of the tools in the laboratory needed electricity large enough for the process of making JN23 bullets as well as some SS13 serum that still had to be given to some people who had weak immunity to attack zombies.
On the first floor they did not find a single zombie. Then, they went up to the second floor through the stairs. There were several doors lined up on the right side only, the rest of the room was empty.
"Hey, the building across from that is a hotel. Are we trying to get there!" take Lewis to his three friends.
Lewis stood by the window glass looking out. There was a tall building and all of its glass was covered by curtain cloth.
"The building is very suspicious. All right, we'll go there" Armando replied. The young man also noticed the building that read Hotel Nirwana.
Hilda was uncomfortable with the building. Just a glimpse of the place is like a haunted house with some trees creeping on the walls of the building.
"Hopefully there are no zombies there" Gaby said.
The hotel building is towering and looks much more sinister than the other buildings next to it. Though in the past the place was so beautiful and many stopped by tourists who stay.
"Even if there are zombies, it's better. That way we can quickly exterminate them from this island," Armando said, shaking Gaby's head in alarm.
The girl just complained and put on a bad face. He did not dare to retaliate or curse at Armando, because the girl was putting her heart to him.
The four of them went down the stairs to get out of this bank building. The cold and dark conditions add to the gripping atmosphere there.
"Eh, the door's hard to open!" said Gaby who first arrived at the door.
"Masa? That door was easy to open" Lewis said. He rushed to the door too.
Armando tried to open the door firmly, but still did not want to open. They suspect the rectangular-shaped glass is in a damaged state so that it locks itself.
"Would we just break this door?" Gaby checked the door handle and it looked like it was locked.
Armando has given up. That door is hard to open.
"If there is no other way to get out of here, yes, we have to destroy it" Lewis said.
