Chapters 2. Zombies In Laboratory

Chapter 2

"Honey, I'll look at the state of the lab first" Aron said as he walked towards the sideboard.

The middle-aged man was looking for his revolver pistol. After making sure the bullet was filled to the brim, Aron put it in his jacket pocket.

"Dad, if what that person said was true, how? This is not our domain. Leave it to the military who has the ability to fight against the zombies" Lewis said as he followed his father who walked to the front door.

Maria who was following Aron behind him only fell silent. Her brain is still digesting all the words her husband says about zombies. The woman is also a scientist in the field of biochemistry who often researches a virus and makes a cure for the virus. Or examine what substances are contained in something that. There are many substances that can make people go crazy, strong, or out of control. However, do not turn it into a zombie just that many people often say if there are humans who are already dependent on drugs they turn like zombies. This is what is currently inside Maria's brain, because she has not seen directly the zombies in the Geophysical laboratory.

Aron knows that his family loves him and is afraid something will happen to him. However, he as one of the team leaders who often conduct experiments in the Geophysics laboratory with his men, felt responsible for what was going on there.

"Daddy will be careful. You take care of your mother at home" Aron said, patting her son on the shoulder.

Although Aron is always busy with research in the laboratory. He can still pay attention to his family in between his busy life. This man is known to love family among his friends.

"I'll go with Daddy to see the situation there. If it looks dangerous, then I'll force Daddy to leave from there" Lewis said firmly.

Aron and Maria were shocked to hear Lewis. Their son, who had always been unwilling to interfere in any affairs that might be unpleasant to him, now wanted to join his father to see the situation to the place he had been most avoided.

"You sure you want to go to the Geophysics lab?" ask Aron again to be sure.

"Yes, I'm sure" Lewis replied.

Lewis felt that there was something interesting in that place. He was also afraid that something might happen to his father. However, there was something that made him have to go there.

Aron and Maria glanced at each other then nodded. Lewis eventually joined his father to work.

Aron could not enter the laboratory area because the gate was locked. Even though he had pressed the bell button to open the gate, no one had answered his call.

"Dad, don't-don't be here is something dangerous happening," Lewis said with a look full of fear.

"Daddy will call first the friend who was overtime," said Aron while removing his cellphone.

The call was not answered. Then, he changed the call to the others.

"Hello, Mr. Aron. It's a mess here, danger!" yelled the man across there.

Aron and Lewis looked at each other. Not to mention anything, the person there gave an information that made both of them afraid and panicked.

"Are they turning into zombies?" ask Aron.

Grprr! Grprr!

"Aaaaaaa," cried who was talking to Aron just now.

Again the same thing happened. This further makes Lewis and Aron convinced that the situation is really urgent and must be treated immediately. Otherwise the inhabitants of El Dorado will be in danger.

"Dad, we have to call the military immediately" said Lewis, who began to panic.

Although he was a man, but Lewis realized that he was weak and could not fight. What if only suddenly the zombie appeared and he could not fight back.

Aron immediately contacted El Dorado city security. He then explained what was going on in the Geophysics lab. However, the military did not believe his words. His father Lewis could not provide any evidence of what was going on inside the laboratory building, as he was also still outside the building.

"Blognal! Why don't they trust me in a crucial moment like this?" Aron hit the hood of the car because he was very upset.

"Do I have to force my way inside and take a video and send it to them to believe?" Aron murmuring.

"Dad, don't do such a dangerous thing! Mommy and I don't want anything to happen to you, Dad" Lewis said, clutching his father's arm.

The son and father looked at each other. It was obvious that the two of them did not want anything bad to happen to them.

"There's no other way. Currently the state of the city of El Dorado is in danger," said Aron lirih.

Aron, who was educated from childhood by his father, had a soul to protect his people and his place from the enemy. Unlike Lewis who was educated from childhood to be a smart child and how to become a champion.

"But, Dad."

"Remember Lewis, we can be useful to others when we can benefit them. Right now Daddy wants to be a useful person to others by saving them from something this dangerous. Daddy loves you, and mommy loves you too. So Daddy will do whatever it takes to protect you" Aron said.

Lewis' heart trembled, he also wanted to be able to protect his loved ones. But he had no strength or courage. So, he doesn't know what he should do.

There's a secret way to get into the lab. Aron took Lewis in through there. The road passes underground and will enter the area of space where experiments are carried out. For research on the top floor as well as the workspace and resting place for those who are overtime.

Lewis stared in awe at everything he saw as he walked into the experimental room. There is no one on this ground floor. As soon as they got into the elevator there was blood. 

"It looks like something happened here too" Lewis said.

"Yes. You be careful," said Aron, taking out his revolver.

The elevator goes up to the top floor where there is a workspace for laboratory employees. As soon as the elevator opens there are many zombies that are biting someone.

"Oh, no. Dad!" lewis shouted as the zombies closest to the elevator suddenly ran staggering towards them.

Aron immediately pressed the elevator button to close. He also gave a shot to the creature. 

"What?" Aron screeched as the bullet was unable to subdue the zombies.

The monstrous creature had stopped its movement when it was hit by gunfire. But he attacked them again.

"Dad!" lewis shouted in fear as the zombies were about to approach the elevator door.

Aron shot the zombie in the head. It was fortunate that the door of the hunt closed as the zombie hand was about to reach him.

Lewis and Aron's heart skipped a beat and their bodies suddenly went limp. Both of them did not expect to get an event like this. Their bodies were flooded with cold sweat from having already experienced such a frightening thing. Lewis saw clearly earlier when someone was bitten by a zombie and soon the button stiffened and shook violently. After that, he turned into the same creature. The face is pale, the eyeballs are white, and the mouth is wide open. Apparently the report wasn't bullshit.

"What do we do now, Dad?" lewis asked still with a limp and vibrating body.

"We need to get to the monitor room. The cctv is still going well. We have to get the tape to be evidence that things are very messy here" Aron replied.

The monitor room was on the fifth floor, two floors below the workspace earlier. Lewis and Aron must be vigilant and careful, it could be a zombie suddenly appeared.

Aron did not expect that tonight will be a lot of people who do overtime, but tomorrow is the weekend. Usually in this day there is rarely overtime unless there is a discovery of something big.

'Is something happening right now that I'm missing?' inner Aron.

The elevator doors are open and the hallway is safe. The two immediately ran towards the end of the hallway where the monitor was located.

Grprr! Grprr!

There was a snarling sound that indicated there were zombies around there. Aron also pulled Lewis to run fast. His son was really very weak in exercise, just run for a while his breathing was dashed.

Grprr! Grprr!

"Let'soo!"

Suddenly the creature appears at the intersection of the passageway and pounces at Lewis. Aron immediately shot the head of the zombie that was about to bite his son. When the zombie was silent for a while Aron kicked with all his might to get away from the child.

"Come on!" Aron pulls Lewis' body back.

When it reaches the door there is another zombie attack. Aron knows who this creature is, he is one of the professors who are experts in the field of nuclear. Then, he pushed the zombie firmly towards the glass window while shooting at it. The zombie was thrown out of the building.

"Come, in!" Aron pushes Lewis into the monitor room and locks the room because a zombie is running towards them.

The breaths of the two men hunted while paying attention to the circumstances around. Fortunately, there were no zombies in the room. Then, Aron checked the state of the cctv recording. There were some zombies scattered on the top floor and some scattered on the other floor. Not only were his co-workers fellow scientists changed, but the security team that used to keep these gates and monitor rooms the same, all changed.

Lewis helps Aron send video footage to the military to take action. Outside there was the sound of zombie growls, so they could not get out yet. 

It was early morning, but Aron and Lewis could not get out of the room. His phone is also lost somewhere. Now these two people are trapped in a building filled with zombies.

Aron and Lewis fall asleep unconscious from exhaustion. They are waiting for the upcoming military assistance.

Suddenly the closet backed by the two people twitched. Still in a semi-conscious state, Lewis opened the closet to see the contents.

"Let'soo!"

There's a zombie wearing a security uniform in that closet. Then, Aron guessed it even though he knew it was free.
