The First Heir (First Heir)

The First Heir (First Heir)
chapter 8

This sound is not pleasant. Philip raised his head and saw a fat man with a protruding beer belly looking at him with a mocking expression.

What does that have to do with you, am I a saved man or not? Do I know you too? Philip pouted, planning to ignore him, turning to leave.

However, the fatty did not plan on releasing it so quickly. He went to block Philip's path and ridiculed him indirectly. "Ignore people now? What a personality! I've heard that your business failed, and now our Deputy Manager Johnston is the one who paid your living expenses. Mature men like you have the courage to be nurtured men."

Philip frowned, looking extremely displeased. He recognized this man, Gavin Zach, marketing manager at the Wynn company. The man had tried to annoy Wynn, and Philip had taught him a lesson. And now that he saw Philip in such a low place, the man began to ridicule him immorally.

The other Wynn colleagues were now staring at Philip with a strange look in their eyes. They also know a little about Philip, who used to be an enthusiastic entrepreneur, but has now dropped to low status as a deliveryman.

Wynn stood among the crowd, frowning loudly as he looked at Philip and felt ashamed.

"Philip, hurry back," said Wynn.

When Gavin heard this, he raised his eyebrows as the humiliation in his eyes grew thicker. The other colleagues sneered. Even his wife was embarrassed by him now. How failed a man is!

Philip did not want to stay any longer, so he turned to leave. But Gavin didn't let that happen. "Don't go, Philip. Why don't you eat with us? Your wife just signed a contract worth a hundred thousand dollars yesterday, something you will never be able to achieve with ten years of delivery service. Don't you want to? celebrating together?"

A hundred thousand dollar contract? So, Wynn got it. Philip already knew, but he did not plan to stay. Even his wife urged him to leave, so why would he have to wait to insult himself? Oh, Wynn, if only you knew that I'm the one who facilitated this contract of yours, what would be your reaction?

"no need. I still have to go to the hospital" Philip said calmly.

Gavin gave him no room to refuse and simply dragged Philip into the restaurant, even wrapping his arm around his shoulder and saying, "No need to be ashamed. Either way, your wife is treating. eating." You're just a saved man, who are you to picky?

Thus, the crowd entered the Court of Virtue with Philip forced to stay. However, he stood alone in a corner while Wynn huddled around his comrades as they chatted passionately about how he managed to complete the deal.

"Vice Manager Johnston, you mentioned that you closed this deal because someone had helped you?" One of the beautifully dressed women asked in surprise.

Wynn nodded. "Manager Warren of Victory Pharmaceuticals got me in trouble. You also know that he tried to take me out to eat. But yesterday, after getting a call, he suddenly said that he was going to sign a contract and even sincerely apologized to me."

As he spoke, Wynn subconsciously looked at Philip who was standing dazed in the corner. He could not help but feel sad and disappointed. He wished that person was Philip, but he knew it was impossible.

"Wow, who's this that has a crush on our deputy manager? Even to help you with this hundred thousand contract!" The woman deliberately shrieked in a loud voice so that Philip could hear her.

Look at you, you worthless thing! Your wife is being seduced, but you're still standing there like an idiot! How useless!

As the crowd chatted happily, Gavin walked over with a conflicted expression and said, "We can't eat here. They need reservations, and only members can enter."

Gavin does not believe that Virtuous Court actually requires reservations and that membership applications require a minimum expenditure of one million per year! Those who could spend a million to eat here were rich!

Wynn immediately stood up with a troubled expression and said, "What should we do? How about we move somewhere else?"

He had promised to treat everyone today, but to think that this place needed a reservation... This was the first time Wynn had been here, and a colleague even suggested it.

"Huh? Are you serious, Manager Zach? We've come this far!"

"Manager Zach, think of something. I heard the food at Virtuous Court is delicious."

"If it really can't help, then let's move on to somewhere else."

Some of them started to get upset and make a fuss. Gavin felt helpless. He has done so much just to win Wynn Johnston's heart. But, where would he get this million dollar membership card?

"Why don't we move to Noble Manor? This place needs a reservation, so I can't do anything." Gavin shrugged his shoulders.

The woman who spoke out was Rose Stewart, Gavin's secretary. As the saying goes, 'if there is something to do, the secretary will do it; if there is nothing to do, do the secretary.'

Rose shifted her long legs, moving to Gavin to hook into his arms as she said flirtatiously, "Manager Zach, this is my first time here. Didn't you say that you know the manager here? Have him open an extra table for us."

After hearing this, Wynn and the other colleagues turned to look at Gavin expectantly.

"Uhm... Isn't that a little inappropriate? Don't bother them and move to Noble Manor. It will be my treaty" replied Gavin immediately.

Noble Manor is not that expensive. Eating for seven or eight people only cost about a thousand. He even went with the flow and offered to treat, so perhaps Wynn would thank him for this.

However, some colleagues seem annoyed.

Rose glanced at Wynn and said discontentedly, "Vice Manager Johnston, you promised to treat us to a Virtuous Court, so isn't this a little too disappointing?" Rose was jealous of Wynn. The woman was the deputy manager at such a young age and was favored by Manager Gavin and President Hall.

Wh why? Just because she's beautiful? Am I not beautiful? I'm not just pretty, so why doesn't this stinky guy care so much about me?

"Alright, well, Vice Manager Johnston doesn't know that this place needs a reservation either. Let's go to Noble Manor," Gavin quickly spoke for Wynn. His tone was firm.

Wynn bowed to apologize. "Sorry, I will treat Noble Manor. Anyway, I'm supposed to take care, so I don't want to trouble you, Manager Zach."

Some colleagues glanced at Wynn coldly before turning to leave dejectedly. They were all filled with rage right now, so who cared about eating anymore!

Just as the crowd entered this sad atmosphere, a voice broke the silence.

"I have a member card. Do you want to use it?" Philip who was standing in the corner spoke.

Besides, he can't refuse. Wynn is still his wife, and seeing him fired by his colleagues makes him uncomfortable.

"You have a membership? Philip, it won't kill you if you don't lie. Do you know where this is? The Court of Virtue! Membership requires a minimum of one million expenses a year!" Gavin's ambiguous and sinister words could be heard. The surrounding comrades also looked at Philip disapprovingly as ridicule crept into their expressions.

Wynn was also dumbfounded. He looked at Philip awkwardly before going to pull him away, wanting to pull him away as he said in a soft voice, "What are you doing? Back to the hospital to accompany Mila."

Are you trying to kick me out because you're afraid I'll embarrass you? Philip did not explain. Since he did not want his help, then he would leave.

However, Gavin was amused and laughed scornfully. "Vice Manager Johnston, why the hurry? Since your husband said he had a member card, let him order a table for us." The mockery was clearly visible on Gavin's face. He just wanted to see Philip humiliate himself.

Didn't he just hear that an ordinary silver membership card in the Virtuous Court requires a minimum expenditure of one million a year? Doesn't matter. Just let him humiliate himself in front of everyone. That way, Wynn might be very disappointed in him. And that means I will have the chance to make the cut!

"Philip, stop messing around! Hurry and come back!" Wynn said coldly, trying hard to suppress the anger in his heart. Why would he show up at a time like this? Is it fun to be this embarrassing?

She was already unable to raise her head every time her comrades talked about her husband, and now she was adding fuel to the fire. This is driving him crazy!

"Wynnie, I have a member card" Philip said calmly. He then took out a card from his pocket and waved it in front of everyone.

Gavin and his group were shocked. Does he really have a card?

However, after thinking for a while, Gavin's expression looked even more mocking.

"Philip, this isn't a membership card for couriers, is it? It's not right to cheat someone with this." Gavin sneered involuntarily.

However, Philip looked at Gavin with a flat face like he was staring at an idiot. That made Gavin upset. Why is he so calm? Could the card be real? Impossible!

Just then, Rose left in her high heels, took the card from Gavin's hand and laughed arrogantly. "Since Vice Manager Johnston's husband said it was a membership card, let's try." He then brought the card to the front table.

Wynn couldn't stop him in time when this happened. He could only stomp his feet furiously and look at Philip angrily. "Philip, you're too disappointing!" This man was still trying to act at a time like this! And now that his lie would be revealed, not only would he be humiliated, he would also have to face the same!

The mockery on Gavin's and their comrades' faces grew even more.

"Come, come on, come on, we're benefiting from Philip's association today, so let's see if the reservation works."

Gavin was overjoyed, impatient to see Philip humiliate himself. He had prepared a lot of things to say so he could mock her later. Several others sneered as they surrounded Philip and Wynn, driving them to the front desk as if they were afraid the two would escape.
