The First Heir (First Heir)

The First Heir (First Heir)
chapter 31

Philip frowned at Aiden. The latter glared at him furiously and smirked. "You were even late because of a simple request to deliver the painting. Aren't you blatantly disrespecting Uncle Johnston?"

The slap! Charles came with an angry expression and slapped Philip's face hard. He bellowed furiously, "Why do I have a useless daughter-in-law like you? You're embarrassing!"

This sudden slap shocked everyone inside the exhibition hall. However, there was no trace of sympathy on the faces of these people. Instead, it was filled with ridicule.

Watching Charles beat Philip in front of so many people made Aiden very happy. Great slap! Trash like this should be slapped more often.

A biting chill flashed across Philip's eyes, but he quickly suppressed it. Lowering his head, Philip said, "Sorry, Dad. I'm a little late on my way."

"Hmmm!" Charles snorted coldly. He took the painting, calmed his emotions, then turned around with a smile to leave. "Come, come on, this is Tang Bohu's original painting, Friendship in the Spring Mountains."

Aiden stood arrogantly in front of the battered Philip. He straightened his suit and said flirtatiously, "Philip, you have a great tolerance. I don't know how a piece of shit like you could marry Wynn." Aiden could not help but provoke and ridicule Philip.

Philip simply gave her a cold smile. "It has nothing to do with you."

Aiden grunting. "Will not give up? Why don't you look in the mirror? Uncle Johnston hates you. If I try a little more, you'll be kicked out of Johnston's house soon. At that time, you will just be a stray dog. I want to see where your miserable cup will end when it happens!" Aiden laughed out loud before throwing a mocking look at Philip. He then turned to leave and cheered for Charles.

On the other hand, Theo had already followed Philip into the hall. The scene earlier made him angry as he watched. "Mr Clarke, do you want me to teach that brat a lesson to you?" Theo came and whispered to Philip.

Philip shook his head and frowned. "no need. My problem. You just have to do your job."

Theo became nervous and quickly nodded. If anyone else were to see this, they would definitely be shocked without words. The mafia king, Theo Zander, being respectful to an innocent young man and even looking a little frightened by him, would cause great news!

The other side of the gallery was crowded as Charles proudly shared his paintings with his old friends and fellow collectors. The overflowing happiness on the older man's face made Philip a little worried inside. Will her father-in-law really force Wynn to divorce her? How should she save her broken marriage?

"Charles, this painting is great! It's an authentic work!"

"If you auction it, it will be worth at least five million!"

"I guess not. I think it might even be worth ten million!"

The crowd admired the painting as they discussed loudly.

Ten million? Charles felt an indescribable shock and happiness when he heard this. Ten million for one painting!

"Addy, did you really give me this painting?" Charles turned to ask Aiden, who was standing beside him. After all it was ten million, how could the man just give it away?

Aiden, of course, understood Charles' intent behind it. He said generously, "Uncle Johnston, this painting is of course yours. I'm not used to the collection, so this painting will only be worth its existence in the hands of a great collector like you." Needless to say, Aiden really knows how to kiss someone.

Charles was overjoyed and patted Aiden on the shoulder with a big smile on his face. "Come and have dinner at our house one day. I'll ask Aunt Martha to cook you some of her best dishes."

Charles could easily tell that Aiden liked his daughter. Charles is a proud man. Wynn is already married to Philip, so how could he force the two of them to separate and remarry his daughter to Aiden? It meant a second marriage, and Charles would be humiliated.

But maybe he could ask his daughter's opinion.
