The First Heir (First Heir)

The First Heir (First Heir)
chapter 1

The Riverdale General Hospital.

"Excuse me, give way!" Philip Clarke held an unconscious little girl as he rushed to the hospital, shouting furiously, "Doctor! Doctor! Hurry up, save my little girl!"

The nurses and doctors who rushed out quickly took the child from Philip's embrace, and entered the emergency room.

"Oh, you can't get in!" A nurse in a blue-blue uniform with a face mask stopped Philip from entering the emergency room.

Just then, the quick sound of the high heels crashing against the ceramic tiles could be heard from behind, squeezing his heart with every click.

"Philip Clarke!" the voice of a woman.

'Slap!'

A loud slap hit Philip's cheek. In front of him, stood Wynn Johnston with an angry expression as tears welled up in his beautiful eyes. "If something happens to my daughter, I'll never forgive you!" His tone was cold and filled with anger.

This scene frightened some patients and their family members in the hospital.

Philip lowered his head in embarrassment without trying to explain anything.

"Hmmm!" Wynn snorted coldly. The dissatisfaction and humiliation in his eyes was visible.

Philip stood to the side with his head bowed in silence like a child caught off guard. He stole a few glances at the woman standing a few meters away from him, the woman he used to call his wife. The woman with whom she has signed the divorce papers can officially be separated from her at any time.

Wynn Johnston is so beautiful. His features were clear, his figure was tall and slender. She was polite and educated, once the prettiest girl in their university. She suddenly falls in love with Philip, suddenly marries, and gives birth to her daughter, Mila Clarke.

However, life after marriage is not that ideal. Philip's career did not go well, and his business eventually failed. Her daughter even had congenital heart disease, which drained their entire savings, and now she had to make a living doing food delivery services.

On the other hand, Wynn is the deputy general manager of the marketing department at a public company. One of his parents was a section chief, the other a retired teacher.

It's safe to say that Philip doesn't have much status in the Johnston family, and over the past two years, he's barely existed. And because of Philip, Wynn was at odds with his family so his parents were not willing to give any support to them. The two elders had told them solemnly that they would help fund the care of their grandchildren only if Philip and Wynn divorced. After the divorce, the child will belong to the Johnston family.

This problem has dragged on for a year.

The emergency room door was pushed open, and Philip saw his daughter being pushed out. He wanted to hurry, but Wynn had already gotten there first. He stopped halfway and noticed his adorable little girl from afar.

Little Mila was wearing a respirator, but her large eyes shone like obsidian gems. She reached out her pale little hand and muttered, "Papa ..."

Philip went to hold his daughter's cold hand while gently removing the wisp of hair from her forehead, smiling as he said, "Papa is here."

"Mama, please don't fight with Papa. It's Mila's fault; I want Papa to take me to the amusement park." Little Mila, who was only three years old, spoke weakly to her father.

Wynn smiled and replied, "OK, Mama will listen to you and not argue with Papa.

"Philip Clarke, pay the hospitalization fee." A cold voice interrupted Philip's conversation with his daughter.

Philip glanced at Wynn, but he only looked at her with a cold gaze before accompanying their daughter to the ward.

After arriving at the inpatient payment section, Philip took out his debit card.

"Sorry, but your card was rejected," the nurse said coldly as she swept her gaze.

Oh, this is Philip Clarke, he thought. A man with no money keeps his wife paying medical bills. She could have asked for help from her in-laws, but she didn't. What a selfish man, trash!" Denied?" Philip's upset. He grimaced and lowered himself, bowing slightly to ask, "Nurse, can you give me a few days?"

The nurse looked at him with a cold look with ridicule in her eyes and replied, "If you don't have any money, ask your wife! After all, you're just a mistress."

"You!" Philip's expression darkened.

The nurse simply crossed her arms and sneered. "You have until tomorrow. If you can't pay, then continue with the debit." After that, he turned around to ignore her. Saying another word to her made her feel disgusted.

How could he bully someone just because they were poor? Philip clenched his fists tightly furiously, feeling bitter.

As he turned around, he saw Wynn standing behind him exuding a cold aura, hatred evident in his cold expression.

"Wynnie, don't worry, I'll go and raise funds now." Philip forced a smile.

However, both of their savings had already dried up.

Tears flowed from Wynn's eyes as his hands clenched. "Philip Clarke, if you're still a boy, go and beg my parents!"

"I'm..." Philip's frozen. His words were stuck in his throat.

"Well!" Wynn snorted while wiping his tears. "I know that. You never change. Is your pride more important than Mila?" He has seen through his mind. Wynn then turned around with his back to face him.

Philip sighed helplessly and then received a notification about the delivery on his phone. He rushed to the ward, chatting briefly with his daughter before leaving.

Before he left, Wynn reminded him, "Philip Clarke, it's my father's birthday this weekend. If you don't want a divorce, go and beg my parents."

He left her with no choice. Philip knew that this was the last part of Wynn's patience for him.

Philip looked up to see a handsome man standing in front of him. The man was wearing a suit complete with a fruit basket and a Peppa Pig doll in his hand.

"Juan Parker! Why are you here?" Philip's face turned dark.

Juan Parker was his best friend at university. But since Philip and Wynn got married, they became enemies because Juan also fell in love with Wynn.

"I asked him to come." Wynn suddenly appeared and walked past Philip. With an apologetic smile, he said to Juan, "Brother Juan, I'm sorry for troubling you again."

Upon seeing Wynn, the mocking expression on Juan's face turned into a generous smile as he said, "It's okay, I'm uncle Mila. This is for Mila. I'm gonna go and pay the bills now." Juan then looked at Philip with a satisfied look with a look of disdain in his eyes.

The knuckles on Philip's fists were white. He asked Wynn coldly, "Why did you lend him money?"

"Do you have any? Or do you want Mila discharged from the hospital tomorrow?" Wynn glared at Philip coldly before turning to follow Juan, chatting happily with him as they left.

Philip's eyes almost popped out of their sockets from anger at this scene. He felt his ego was dealt a heavy blow.

Money money money money! It's all about money with them!

Philip stood at the entrance of the hospital for a long time before sighing. He looked up at the blue sky and then pulled out his phone to call. "Howie, where are you? Let's meet."

Inside the rented house, Philip and Howard Lowe sat opposite each other. Howard is a somewhat tanned and skinny man. He handed Philip a debit card and said, "There are sixty thousand here. Take it now."

Philip's hand trembled as he took the card. "Howie, thank you. Thank you!"

"What to thank? After all, we are brothers." Howard laughs.

"I object!"

There was a loud explosion, and the door of the rented house was suddenly pushed open. A tall woman rushed in angrily. "Howard Lowe, that's the dowry you should have given to my family. Why did you give it to him?"

This woman is Howard's girlfriend, Ruby Ford. Her appearance was seven out of ten, and she had a proud personality. He's a little cocky. "Ruru, Mila is hospitalized, so I just loaned this to Philip for an emergency." Howard walked over to pull Ruby's arm as he explained.

Ruby swung her hand and sneered at Philip. "Well! Philip, how many times have you borrowed money from our Howard now? If you're shameless, why should I spoil you?"

"Ruby!" Howard's voice deepened as he pulled on his sleeve.

Ruby won't back down. He pointed at Howard's nose and blamed it. "Mr Lowe, if you're going to lend him money, I'm breaking up with you! You can forget our wedding!"

Seeing they were about to fight, Philip put the card on the table, stood up, and nodded apologetically. "I'm sorry. Uhm... Howie, I'll meet you at your wedding then. I'm going to go now."

"Good bye!" Ruby said coldly. Without waiting for Howard to chase after him, Philip had already walked out of his rented house.

As soon as the door closed behind him, the sounds of Ruby and Howard's quarrel sounded behind the door.

Philip crouched down with the phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other, deep in his thoughts along the way. Being poor is a sin, and you really cannot move forward without money.

After making up his mind, Philip finally called a number he had not contacted for seven years.

The call soon succeeded.

"Hello, Young Master? Young Master, is that you? You finally called me." The voice across sounded happy. There were hints of age and even sobbing.

Philip sighed helplessly and said, "George, I need money. Can you transfer me a hundred thousand?"

"Oh, Young Master, please don't say that. I'll even transfer you a billion if you want." The older man on the phone was still excited, but soon, he sounded troubled. "But Young Master, as per your agreement with his master, if you want to use your finances and family connections, you must go back and inherit the family business. Can you come to the company, and we'll discuss this?"

Philip pondered for a moment before replying, "Alright, I'll take a trip."

"Good! Young Master, I will send someone to pick you up!" old George said enthusiastically.

"It's okay, I can go alone." Philip said before asking, "Oh yeah, which company?"

"Apex Group's. I'll be waiting for you at the director's office" George said.

After hanging up the phone, Philip stared at the stream of people passing in front of him.

Okay, I'll be honest and say that I, Philip, was born with a silver spoon! My family owns assets all over the world, and my family owns seventy percent of the businesses in the world.

I've been trying to avoid inheritance for the past seven years, so I ran away, hoping I could live a normal life. But today, reality forced me to compromise.

If I don't work hard enough, don't have money, I have to go back and inherit that great fortune.

Philip soon arrived at the Apex Group building with his scooter. It was a tall building about three hundred meters tall. The company itself is ranked number seven on the Fortune Global 500 list! But then again, all the companies in the Fortune Global 500 are either the Clarke family or own some of the shares owned by them.

Upon entering the lobby, Philip was stopped by a female voice. "Hey, hey, hey, you're there! Who said you could break in? Out, out! The delivery man is not allowed in! Call and have someone come down to see you!" A beautiful girl in a black uniform blocked Philip's path and started scolding him. He had a mature appearance and a dignified aura.

"What do you see? Disgusting, motherfucker! Get out!" Lily Simmons glared at Philip hatefully, thinking that she had seen quite a number of introductory men in her life. He thought that he had seen quite a number of introductory men in his life. Thinking that he had seen quite a number of introductory men in his life.
