Chapter 22. Chickens
"WHAT?" david shouted in disbelief at Elaina's request.
"Don't you promise?" Elain asked back.
"But not for that one" said David firmly.
David massaged his forehead softly which suddenly felt dizzy hearing his girl's request. The girl is a strange woman, a magical bin. Almost every woman that David met and close friends must be what they like is collecting jewelry, luxury or limited edition clothing, branded bags, and anything that smells like women.
Elaina was very different from the other girls. Maybe he asked to raise two pairs of broiler chickens in the mansion. Especially male and female.
"Is there nothing else?" david asked pleading.
"No," Elaina replied briefly while shaking her head.
David was very frustrated. He stood up and turned his gaze towards the window. It was hard for her to remember the word for word Elaina said. It is highly unlikely if a girl simply asks to raise chickens.
It's not that David didn't want to grant Elaina's request. However, he had a small past trauma.
David was six years old. He was visiting his grandfather's house in Kentucky. Grandpa David was very happy raising. Especially chicken. One of the broiler chickens accidentally got hit by a chicken transport truck.
David saw it clearly if the chicken died there. His neck looks broken. Little David's curiosity overcame his fear. He tried to look closer. After the truck was out of there, little David immediately walked towards the chicken.
A few more steps he reached his destination. Suddenly the chicken got up and flew towards him with its neck almost severed. Just made David scream.
After the incident, David had a fever for one week. He was afraid of chickens. It is very different if the chicken has been processed into food. From then on, he no longer wanted to go to his grandfather's chicken farm.
Now, her girl is asking for something that is very impossible for her to grant. David was still looking out the window. He tried to think clearly.
"Darling, is there nothing else?" ask David again.
He still tried to persuade Elaina to choose another wish.
"No," Elaina replied as she shook her head.
"New house" David bargained.
"No."
"Diamond."
Elaina did not immediately reply, making David look away at her. Elaina's face looks excited, and her eyeballs appear sparkling when hearing David's offer which is certainly very difficult to reject by women. David felt there was hope.
"No."
Elaina's short answer made David's hope disappear.
"Car" said David.
"No."
"This is the last one. I'll give you the famous mall in the capital" David said, staring at the girl's face.
Elaina was silent again. Seems to be thinking.
Anybody's gonna give his girlfriend the mall, except me. You certainly wouldn't have expected. The mall is mine anyway. This is gonna work. David had a monologue in his heart.
"No" answered Elaina briefly.
"What's? Honey, what I'm going to give you is a famous mall" asked David puzzledly.
"Keep why?" ask Elaina.
"Darling, don't you have no idea what a mall is?" david asked as he held onto Elaina's arms.
"Aw," cried David.
"Why did you pinch me?" david asked, grimacing in pain.
Elaina is furious with David's question which indirectly indicates that she does not know about the mall at all. Spontaneously alone Elaina pinched David's left abdomen.
"I don't know what a mall is. I live in a village, more precisely on the island of Borneo. But I still know, and have entered the mall," said Elaina at length.
"It's hard, it's just giving me a pair of broiler chickens" Elaina said with a sad face.
"What's? Honey, you didn't say a pair of chickens!" shouted David.
"Hiks. Yes, if you don't want to. I'll just go home, "elaina sulks while shedding contorted tears.
"Dear, stop!" david's orders.
Elaina, who had just gotten up from the sofa, came to a standstill as David held onto her left arm. While David himself did not have the heart to see his girl who looked sad even almost crying.
Elaina stopped and looked at David. Got you! Last time, let out a few tears. Elaina is a monologue in the heart.
Elaina was a little surprised to hear that. He felt there was something between David and the chicken.
"Are you afraid of chickens?" elaina asked suspiciously.
"Ten-tu just isn't. Why should I be afraid of chickens" explained David.
"Then what?" ask Elaina.
"I just don't smell the shit" David said.
"Is it true that's all?" ask Elaina.
"That's all, baby" replied David.
Elaina looked at David. Then, throw his ass back on the couch.
He looked at the man who was now his lover. David was still adamant about his stance.
"Aha, just like this. If you can guess my guess, I'll be happy to change my wish" challenged Elaina.
David squinted one eye before agreeing to Elaina's challenge.
"OKs. I concur. If I lose, you'll get your chickens" David said.
"It's very easy. Moreover, you are a foreigner," said Elaina.
"What connection?" ask David.
"Of course there is. The question is, what's your English grandmother asking for money?" ask Elaina.
"Darling, are you sure that's a guess?" david didn't believe the question he had just heard.
"A hundred percent sure" replied Elaina.
"Have you ever played guessing?" david still couldn't believe it.
"You underestimated me, huh?" ask Elaina.
"Of course not dear," answered David quickly.
"Then answer quickly!" elaina's orders.
Lightly and confidently, David answered the question with confidence.
"Grandma asking for money" answered David confidently.
"Tetot," replied Elaina as she crossed her hands in front of her chest.
"What's? Why is it wrong?" david asked in disbelief.
"Yes it's wrong. Your answer is wrong, dear," replied Elaina.
"Honey grandma is English is grandma or grandmother. Where's the fault?" ask David.
"I won't answer it. I'll give you a chance to think again before replying" explained Elaina.
David tried to think hard. He is a native of Indonesia. Just translating like that, was of course very easy for him.
"Haven't?" ask Elaina.
"Beauty, a little bit more" said David.
"I'll count down. Ten, nine, eight, seven .." said Elaina.
"Give me the clue!" david Pinta.
"David, do you think this is a television quiz?" ask Elaina.
"Huft, so what dear? ask David.
"Have you given up?" ask Elaina.
"No, I'm not giving up" David said.
"You can too. Still on your stand," seduced Elaina.
"So what's the answer?, asked David.
