CHAPTER 142 ~ Past Competition ~

Devan smilingly looked at the crying Zefran down before him. A man she knew was so brave. So cool, determined and not easily submissive by anything, anyone, now crying bowed before him. Begging to defend the woman he loves.

Zefran was a brave man who was willing to defend a friend without knowing fear. A fight is never easy if it is to defend his friends. A loyal soul of a high friend even though it must sacrifice his life.

Wept in front of Dr. Devan, begging his best friend not to continue his intention to disturb his household. No. Zefran can't stand against Dr. Devan but the man was tired of the trials that tested the resilience of his household.

Competing with his own best friend he once felt with Valendino. And that makes him very tired. Zefran doesn't want that to happen with Dr. Devan. Fighting his own friends is harder for him than fighting strangers.

"Now I'm sure that you really don't want to lose Allena. Fighting anyone never makes you shed tears. But it's you that makes me want to take her away from you even more. You look weak, why? Afraid against me? Am I a tough opponent for you?" ask Devan.

Zefran raised his face looking at the man before him. Zefran was never afraid of anyone, whatever he would do to win something but the man was afraid that what he was doing now would make him lose Allena. Dr. Devan laughed too.

"You want to kill me? If you're in jail, can Allena still stay by your side? He's gonna follow you to jail? Nah! He will stay out there and more and more will tease him" Devan said manipulating Zefran's mind.

"Don't do that, you don't know how tired my life is going through something like this" Zefran said.

Dr. Devan nodded, Zefran's words sounding like a threat. The man intends to stop him.

"You think I'm really gonna take Allena from you?" ask Devan again.

"You said that" Zefran replied.

"The words that the high school boy said, you trust him so much? The words of a teenager? You think that's a serious thing? You really believe in what a high school kid says?" devan asked repeatedly to make sure.

"I've been able to keep my promise since I was a kid. High School children are more able to be held in his words than the promise of a small child. Until now I still consider your words really mean" said Zefran.

"If Allena doesn't belong to anyone, maybe I'll go after her, but she already has, where I might take her. Especially those who have it my own best friend," said Devan.

"So you want to cancel your speech at that time?" ask Zefran.

"I don't remember what I said at that time. Already, don't think about it anymore" Devan said with a laugh.

"As for Santi, you seriously don't want to try to get to know her? Actually, there is another story behind Allena's intention to match you," said Zefran.

"you mean? Another story how?" ask Devan.

"She .. is not actually a baby sitter. According to Allena she's just a girl in disguise for .. eyeing me-"

"What's? She's not a real baby sitter? He's after you?" devan asked in disbelief of Zefran's words.

"Sorry Devan, my wife tried to introduce him to you with the intention of having Santi change his intentions. I think Allena looked at you and thought that you were the only one who could distract Santi from me" Zefran said.

The man recounted Allena's suspicions to the baby sitter who was babysitting their daughter. Starting from the beginning Allena caught the baby sitter complaining by himself in the room to Allena's suspicion when the girl received a phone call.

"So you think I'm the only one who can distract him from you. I mean I'm the same person as you? Interesting too? I can make him turn away from you. I feel challenged. All right I'll try to get his attention" Devan said directly.

Zefran was flabbergasted, not expecting Dr. Devan is actually interested in the story even curious to try to conquer Santi. All because of his nature that always does not want to lose to Zefran. Being able to grab the attention of the girl from Zefran would be a pride for her.

Dr. Devan laughed, even though Zefran had a family, but still someone tried to reach his love. The man is challenged to divert Santi's love as Allena wants.

"Well I'll try to distract him from you" Devan said at last.

"What do you mean?" ask Zefran.

"As Allena wanted, I will make Santi fall in love with me to keep your household safe" Devan replied.

"What?" asked Zefran not to believe but Dr. Devan was laughing.

"Yes Zefran, I'll try to get close to him" Devan said.

"So this is a plan? You want him to like you for what?" ask Zefran.

"Of course to continue the past competition. I will make someone who loves you half-dead, fall in love with me" Devan said with a smile.

"Yes trying to date. If suitable, continue. If it doesn't fit, break up" said Devan.

Zefran gaped, not believing the way the man's mind before him. Allena set them up not for a dabble but hoping they really fall in love with each other.

"I'm curious, how many girls have you tried to project love in your life?" ask Zefran astonished.

Given the profession and appearance of Dr. Devan, there must be a lot of people who like it.

"I've been lazy to count it" Devan replied, laughing.

Zefran also laughed while shaking his head.

He probably just wanted to try it with my wife. He might not really want to chase after Allena, inner Zefran.

"But if it was Allena, I wouldn't try" Devan said softly after calming down his laughter.

"What?"

"Allena it's got something that's very captivating. Her face was beautiful of course but there was more to it than that. His smile, was a smile of heart. There must be a lot of men approaching him. If she hadn't been your wife, I'd have taken her away from you. We will forever be rivals for it. So beware! If I knew he was empty for a while, I would come to conquer him" Devan said at length and laughed.

"I won't let go so there's no need to hope for her" Zefran said with a smile.

This time Zefran could smile because after hearing Dr. Devan who declares it will be impossible snatch the woman who has become to have his own best friend. They ended the conversation with a feeling of relief. Zefran has been convinced that Dr. Devan won't tease his wife while Allena's still tied to her.

Zefran came home early today, his heart eager to meet his wife soon. But when parking his car, Zefran did not see Allena's car. The man immediately grabbed his phone. Zefran shook his head for forgetting to turn his phone back on after his conversation with Dr. Devan.

As expected, Allena sent a message that today is coming to work. Zefran sighed but did not regret his intention to go home sooner. The man took off his black suit and left a white shirt that had been taken out from behind his pants.

With the arms rolled up to the elbows and some buttons of clothes that have been removed. Zefran stepped leisurely into the kitchen. Drink the cold water he took from the refrigerator.

"Master's home yet? Do you want food?" ask a waiter to offer.

Zefran who was drinking just waved his hand.

"Mrs Allena's out?" asked Zefran.

"Yes sir."

"Large lady?"

"Objectly, to what organization?" the waiter asked back.

Zefran laughed, the man understood because his mother followed many women's organizations. The waiter will not be able to remember his schedule one by one.

"Kids?" ask Zefran again.

"It's usually Sir, same with Santi in the playroom" the waiter replied.

The man went upstairs where his children were playing while studying.

"It's hard Mom, Zefran's sister loves her wife very much. It's all Mommy's fault for telling me so late about the matchmaking." I heard the conversation from inside the room.

Zefran walked into the room. Just being able to fixate on listening to Santi's talk sounds like he's calling someone.

True what Allena said, she's not a real baby sitter. The matchmaking? So is there really another matchup other than Allena? Oh, thankfully, Mommy told me too late. If he comes first, Mommy may be willing to accept him to be my wife, the inner Zefran who is not willing to imagine himself to be Santi's husband.

The man went into the children's playroom. Finally, he returned to his room, laying down on the bed while staring at the ceiling. What his wife says is right and natural if she is worried. Zefran finally understood, if Allena finally decided to find a way to divert Santi's love to Dr. Devan.
