Shall Under Your Charm

Shall Under Your Charm
Chapter 71

It was very late when they stopped at a warm hotel.. Farah was so tired that she barely noticed Ryan. At the hotel, he provided waiters, warm food, comfortable bed and warm room.

Fatigue made Farah unable to enjoy the scenery along the road earlier. The rain had already stopped even though the scenery outside was still covered by fog.

Farah's legs were stiff, her back was beaten with rattan, and her sleepiness was gone so that she could return to fear and despair. The waiter brought him tea, toast, beef steak and eggs, which he ate in his comfortable hotel room.

It's been months, and it feels like years, since Farah was last in a situation that made her an honorable woman. Farah wondered in her heart, Perhaps, somewhere in this inhospitable land there is a good person to her. Aunt Okta might be here.

Given Aunt Okta's passionate intentions, there was no way they would suddenly cancel her departure back then in search of the missing Farah, no matter how much Aunt Okta wished to do so. It was another ironic point, one that Ryan managed to guess with great precision. If there was a way to do it, he would definitely run away from Ryan and look for Andreas. He has every reason to be wary of Andreas, especially with the lies that the man has spread about him, and the horrific remarks that Keith has made that Andreas was the cause of Ryan's younger sister's death.

However, only Andreas is the only one who can tell Farah where the tant is. As part of a well-known conglomerate family, it is definitely not difficult to find Andreas. Supposedly, he thanked Ryan for giving him the idea.

Suddenly Ryan came into the hotel room. Faray tried to get rid of his sadness, as Ryan looked directly into his eyes, took his coat from the back of the chair and spread it out.

"Come on," that's all Ryan said. Farah did not move at all.

"Are you done?" ask Ryan.

"Yes." Yeah."

"Then? Come on, let's go." said Ryan. Farah stood up, but did not step towards the door.

"What's wrong?" said Ryan.

Farah could hear fatigue from her own voice, as she said, "You're in too much of a hurry. At the meal, I almost fell asleep with my nose stuck on a plate of beef steak. If you could let me sleep all afternoon-"

"No."

"Then, an hour."

Even though his back was already very stiff, but Farah was still trying to straighten his body. "If you don't mind, I want to know where we're really headed."

Ryan approached Farah and put a coat on her shoulder, and Farah had to resist the urge to push Ryan away from her.

"I'll tell you.." said Ryan, buttoning his coat, "if my mood is good."

"You are outrageous indeed," Farah replied cynically while restraining her anger. "Will it mess up plans related to the international world and make this country a riot if I ask for five minutes to comb my hair?"

"Just brush your hair in the car," that's Ryan's only answer, while holding his arm, and leading him to Farah's door trying to escape from Ryan's clutches.

"Wait first. Ryan, I'm only asking for five minutes to go to the bathroom." Farah felt her cheeks flushed.

"For God's sake, why haven't you said that since? I don't know your code" Ryan said.

In his worst attitude, Ryan still has a decency that is impossible to lose. In the end Ryan said gently to Farah if he allowed Farah an hour's rest, but no longer than that.

It was no accident that Farah was not given a room on the ground floor, with a window facing the back of the hotel, and a wide veranda supported by sturdy pillars, underneath there is a field that seems deliberately designed to play tennis. Farah might have managed to escape if none of the hotel's attendants were not feeding the goose in a pond deliberately set up in the hotel's garden, and the attendant was gathering his goose by the side of the pond.

It was an extremely miserable escape attempt: even the worst of his previous attempts. The bewildered swans vented their anger at Farah and surrounded her, as she sat on the wet grass. A male goose spread its wings furiously and stood in front of Farah.

Not long after, Farah saw people start coming towards her: the hotel attendants. The guests who were downstairs, the bell boy, the two women who were carrying the dogs, the, and finally Ryan, who pulled Farah up from the wet grass, took her over the fence. However, this is a different figure of Ryan, not the cold-eyed stranger who this morning put him in the car by force. This is the smiling and friendly Ryan, who apologizes to the hotel owner while compensating for the damage and uproar Farah has made.

When the hotel owner angrily asks what a young woman is doing by jumping over the roof of her hotel, Ryan's smile widens and looks reassuring. The hand Ryan placed on Farah's shoulder looked like a protective gesture; only Farah could feel the intense pressure from Farah's hand. Farah's jaw stiffened from holding back anger and shame, as he listens to Ryan telling the innkeeper that Farah is the youngest daughter of a wealthy family who ran away from home (ryan's tone implies that Farah is an over-indulged child), ryan goes on to describe himself as Farah's cousin who just saved him from an elopement plan that would bring disaster as the man he was about to marry was a poor man, a gambler and a scoundrel.

"Well, out of all your outrageous acts, dare to be like you!" farah shouted finally made a sound because she could not bear the shame of the cynical look directed at her. Too tired and unconcerned with her own words, Farah turns to the hotel owner's wife, who at least looks more worried about Farah's condition, who may have been injured by falling from the roof than the broken roof. "That's not true! I beg you to trust me. That man is a mafia! He kidnapped me and held me captive for months on an island! He won't release me even though I've been begging him many times!".
