Shall Under Your Charm
Chapter 36

The Dark Devil's headquarters alarm went off loud. At once the existence of Farah was forgotten and it was used by Farah to rush out across the living room and run with bare feet through the drizzling rain towards the dock.

The further he left the headquarters, the more the panic faded and all Farah could hear was his roaring breath from exhaustion. Not wasting a long time, Farah found a rope ladder that led to a small boat and propped her body up with an arm. The rough contours of the rope hurt his palms, and the wounds were quite disturbing, when he should have remembered to tread his feet on the ship. The waves hit Farah's body and threw him face-first into the wet logs. The pain blinded his eyes. With all his might Farah clung to the swinging rope, while his lungs felt tight due to difficulty breathing. Slowly Farah tried to move again, lowering her body with careful movements, which made her shoulder muscles interested.

In the small boat, there was a puddle two inches high. When Farah's feet touched her, the cold immediately attacked her, and bit her to the bone. With rain falling on her body, Farah opened the rope that tied the boat to the dock. Farah clung firmly as the ocean waves pushed her boat away from the dock, with a force that threatened to smash the boat to pieces. The boat was bobbing and spinning until he managed to stabilize the boat and they were on the high seas with a gust of cold wind.

Farah always sees others rowing looking very easy, when trying it out for yourself in the middle of a big choppy sea turns out to be much harder than it seems. Around it, the water looks pale, with raindrops making ripples on its surface. The waves that hit the side of the boat made water splash into his face and into his eyes. Farah closed her eyes and moved the paddle to split the water. Again and again. Farah was soaking wet. The air feels moist by cold steam and froth in the sea. Farah's muscles began to freeze, and she rode faster. The tribulation mixed with fatigue that made Farah half-fainted.

Amidst the dim light, Farah did not know that the water inside the boat had already risen to the edge of her knee-length trousers. The water had reached half its calf, before it was forced to admit that there was too much water in the boat, which probably only came from splashing sea water and rain. It's too late for Farah to understand why Mr. Yanka brought the boat back to base so quickly. Not because of the deteriorating air. However, because the boat leaked.

Farah turned her head, and through the rain, she saw a medium-sized ship, which was still quite far from her. Too far away even. The headquarters of the Dark Devil, which was large and bright behind him, was also too far away. Not that it's important to him. But he was in the middle of a raging sea sedan!

Farah's desperation grew as she tried to find the location of the boat's leak and covered it with her feet. Sea water rolled around, moss and seaweed entered the boat. Below, the sea monster was already waiting, with its jaws wide open, cold and hungry. Any reluctance and fatigue Farah instantly evaporated. Farah took off her leather shoes and began to draw water from the boat, but quickly the water pooled again and the boat was already ogled until the boat capsized. Farah kicked the water in a panic and tried to raise her head to the surface.

Farah knew her efforts were in vain, but her hands were still flailing and her feet were moving in an indeterminate direction in the water, trying to keep her body floating. Farah turned her back on the cruising alien ship so that she did not see another boat approaching, In her panic Farah did not think at all that Ryan, who was on the alien ship, was, would see smoke rising from the direction of the Dark Devil headquarters and, hence, the man immediately returned to the headquarters.

From the boat he was riding on, Ryan observed Farah trying to fight the water with a leg. Ryan is not the kind of guy who has the habit of rolling his eyeballs, but it is almost done to express the emotions that are in him. Behind him, paddling his oars with all his might, Ryan heard Sanders' voice, one of his bodyguards laughing out loud.

"Who cares" said Ryan, "with his ass." It doesn't make the situation worse, but it's enough to make Ryan's anger even more ignited that by the time they reach Farah, the woman is already drowning, and Ryan has to plunge into the sea to save Farah.

The arm that came out of nowhere pulling Farah to the surface of the water looked like a giant jellyfish, and made Farah scream as loud as possible, to make the seawater enter her lungs. until Farah turned around and could see with a misty mind that the one who pulled her was Ryan. With cold arms and a trembling body, Farah rushed into Ryan's arms, writhing at the man like a baby koala.

Between the wind, the sea and the rain, Farah heard Ryan say, "Well. Now you hold me very tight. Now's not the right time for that."

Ryan's hand got stuck in Farah's hair. As he was able to get a steady grip on the boat, he gripped Farah's pants and pushed the woman onto the boat.

Once again, Farah finds herself drenched and frightened on the boat, but this time no Gege covers her with a thick coat, helping to clear her watery, parched nose, and drain the sea water from her hair. Now, rainwater flushed down her back as Farah sat half-kneeling, shaking, coughed, and spewed seawater into her palm. Other than Sanders, who was cruel enough to laugh at him, Ryan's other men just watched him in surprise. Farah closed her eyes.

Farah opened her eyes again as she felt Ryan climb onto the boat and sit beside her, with wet hair covering part of her face, her brownish color looking bright amidst the darkness. Ryan grabbed Farah, and Farah was too tired to resist; her hands were too weak as Ryan rubbed his upper arms. There was no strength to move his jaw, and his gurgling teeth bit his tongue. Blood mixed with seawater soaked his chin, and suddenly, under his chest, Farah felt a movement from the bundle of letters he had forgotten. Farah's shirt pulled out of her pants, then her stolen letter slumped down and landed right at Ryan's feet.

At the Dark Devil headquarters, Gege becomes the first person to understand why there is a fire in Ryan's room and immediately takes a telescope to see a figure that is being swayed by ocean waves.
