Shall Under Your Charm
Chapter 37

At the Dark Devil headquarters, Gege becomes the first person to understand why there is a fire in Ryan's room and immediately takes a telescope to see a figure that is being swayed by ocean waves. But suddenly Will who was not far from Gege also had the same conclusion and saw Gege running towards the dock. As soft as possible, Will smashes Gege's head into a fainting spell. After lowering Gege's body on top of the gazebo slowly, Will shouted from over his shoulder to one of the Dark Devil's men nearby, "Take the chain and tie the Gege, until the girl is saved or dies. And don't look at me like that. That girl is far away from us. Too far."

Will takes the telescope from Gege's hand and watches Farah flailing in the middle of the sea feeling anxious and guilty. He attempted to estimate whether boats departing from foreign intelligence ships could reach Farag in time. The rain kept his visibility short, and he didn't know who was on the boat, but Ryan must have been there, and Ryan, with his ability that was beyond average, will do everything possible to save Farah.

If Will's heart is like an apple, no woman has ever bitten it. Habits have wiped out the emotions brought about by Farah's helplessness. Farah was a nobody to him, just a random woman, who was entertainment for the Dark Devil's men, although Gege had once implied that the leader of the Dark Devil was the one who planned all that. Impossible. Keith would never have involved himself to match Ryan, much less judging by how often Ryan did not sleep in his own room.

Will raised his telescope again, trying to shake off the shadow of a slender girl dressed in a man's outfit and a very large hat, awkwardly holding a cannonball back then.

Gio. The name entered his mind like the sound of a danger sign alarm. Will turned around quickly and ran with his heart racing back into the mansion.. He reaches the main hall amid the sound of screaming and sees Kevin trying to pull Gio, but is blocked by a shiny knife that is held up by Gio. In a split second, Gio dashed very quickly out of the mansion towards the pier. While cursing, Will ordered the other men to immediately go after Gio.

Without a second thought, Gio seemed to have thrown himself into the sea followed by Will and Dennis. Gio is a great swimmer so they have a hard time chasing him. They yell to Gio that Farah has been saved, that Ryan has managed to pull Farah out of the water, but either Gio cannot hear it because the loud sound of the waves pounding or the worry has dulled his senses. In the end, they had to force Gio onto the boat and beat him hard to prevent Gio from returning to the sea until finally the boat they were riding on was tied back to the dock.

When Ryan took Farah up to the dock and glued her to the wooden dock wet, they were still trying to resuscitate Gio. With a light step, Ryan crossed the dock leading to where Gio lay helplessly. Gio's long eyelashes twitched on the cheeks which turned blue due to the coldness of the sea water. Behind him, Ryan heard Keith answer the question he had in mind.

"He won't die. Little Gio only tried to swallow the sea water, so that Farah could fall safely into the dry sea. You should be here. I've never seen so many people jump off the dock." Keith Smith turned his head around, and his cold gaze stopped on the head chef. "Ah. Turns out you were there, Will, didn't you get Gege chained?". Keith smiled. "Don't I not order you to chain Gege? I know your actions have good intentions. But, in any case, I want him released. So, please do it. He's needed."

Kneeling beside his half-sister in front of Gio, Keith observed Ryan putting a finger on the neck of the still unconscious young man, to look for a pulse and count it inward. As Ryan pulled his hand, Keith said, "I should probably tell you; he did a reckless act of defying the rules and jumped into the sea. And, unfortunately, Gio forgot his position when dealing with Kevin".

Ryan raised his head quickly. "What's going on?".

"That boy threatened Kevin with a knife."

"No. Don't make yourself look stupid by asking her." Keith remained silent. Then, "About the girl-".

"Yes... About the girl..... ", Ryan stood up slowly and walked over to Farah. Farah sat where Ryan left her earlier, curled up on the edge of the dock.

While lowering his body in a smooth motion, Ryan sat down near Farah who was wet by the rain, and slowly cupped Farah's head with both hands. Farah's hair felt sticky and there was seaweed stuck there, as she pressed it out the water like a sponge, which flowed into her wrists and arms. The only expression he could see on Farah's face was shock. Farah's eyes were empty and swollen, with a grain of salt stuck to her eyelashes, Farah's delicate skin felt ice-cold to the touch, Farah's bluish lips opened and did not move.

"Help me God" Ryan murmured, and in Ryan's voice, Farah heard anger and irritation.

"If you try to escape from me again, I'll tie you to a cannon pole and skin every inch of your skin off your back."

Patiently, Gege is removed, taking Farah back to the mansion, drying her body and hair, feeding her, helping her get into bed. Gege locked the room door and gave it to Ryan who was sitting in the living room accompanying Gio to eat a warm soup. Gege does what he can for Gio, who is already sober and, as one might expect, does not stop complaining about being too pampered. As Gege headed towards the hall, he saw Keith da Kevin who was having a serious chat. It took him fifteen minutes to persuade Kevin to wait until morning to punish Gio. One more thing he had to do was apologize to Will for the bruised eye, which Will got from him as soon as his hand slipped off the chain.

Gege then stepped into Keith's room without knocking on the door, until just a moment later Keith had returned to his room. Keith, who had changed his clothes, sat in a crocodile leather-lined chair and, without wasting time, Gege began to carry out his night duties.
