Shall Under Your Charm
Chapter 46

Satisfied with Farah's reply, Mike said, "That's because you're a woman, and women don't understand direction like men do. Men are born with that ability, while women just make it more complicated."

"Thank God that men are like that" Farah said, and that's not a compliment to men.

"You should be relieved because the situation here is very confusing" Mike said in a snobbish manner. "Because then the Dark Devil won't be able to track us. Maybe they'll search the nearest beach and find nothing. They would take forty years to be able to search the entire island here one by one."

As the day grew twilight, the chances that they would not be discovered by the Dark Devil grew smaller even though Farah would never be willing to admit it to herself.

They passed through more than a dozen islands, stretching between them, as the vast land grew closer and closer, then turned into a bright blend of colors, with stunning scenery. Neither on land nor at sea were there any signs of human touch. Around them, there is only a wild nature, where all living things there can live freely without having to be limited by the greed of mankind. Small fish are visible from above the clear water surface, and occasionally sharks pass by in rapid, noiseless movements. Small fish-eating birds hunt in the warm sunlight.

Before they discover the island written by Will's friend, the sun is already sinking and it becomes an orange-colored sphere on the horizon. Farah watched the place from above the sunburned nose and for the umpteenth time of the day, she dropped her forehead over the palm of the hand.

From the sea in front of them stood a large and tall volcano, which stood from within the sea, with its back set by a dark tropical forest. As they approached the mangrove trees lined up on the edge of the island, Farah could smell the smell of the evaporating swamp, where the brown water was filled with coiled roots. The coastline is filled with large rocks that fall from the cliffs above. The rain has made the cliff surface uneven, and around it grow shrubs and wild plants with yellow flowers. Far above them, birds were flying freely in the darkening sky.

"Tropical paradise" Mike said as they landed on a sloping beach. "Satan Place's. You see those holes on the beach? That's a sign that there was once a wild pig digging there. This is the perfect island for adventure, my friend is great. He is a man of vast knowledge. Walking about half an hour up that mountain, we will find a trading post run by former pirates.. There was also a woman called Leony. She is a beautiful woman and small in stature hehehe. All I got from Leony was a cynical look. He has no sense of humor. So, are you gonna get out of the boat, or are we gonna keep sitting here until the apocalypse?".

Farah's awake. However, only three steps he immediately fell down. No one warned him that after a long time on board, your body had already gotten used to the movement of seawater, and it took some time to get used to the stable surface of the land.

Laughter shakes Mike's sweaty body, as Farah sits on the wet sand with a confused brain. The little crab who was walking in the sand was observing Farah with a pair of widened eyes.

"Mike," said Farah. "if you laugh at me one more time, I won't take responsibility for the consequences."

The dark shadow fell onto Mike's moving back, as the man walked confidently in front of Farah, excited that he would soon meet Leony. The air was almost unbearable, interspersed with the singing of insects and the whistling of birds. The wings were headed over them, the reptile walked slowly on dry leaves, and the spider web felt like it was stroking Farah's cheeks. Farah touched the tip of the gun carefully tucked in her belt.

Finally Farah said, "How long do you think we've been walking? At least an hour."

Mike hesitated. "Well, my friend, she really likes vodka and, if she's drinking, she's always lost. So that trading post might be a little further than an hour's drive away. It must be not far from here."

As they walked further and further away, there was still no sight of trading posts. Reluctantly, Farah came to the conclusion that the trading post was merely an imagination. And that's when they reached the open ground. To the left of the forest, there was a silvery moonlight, and in the hills above it was seen a cottage. Mike exclaimed happily 'Well!' and ran towards the hut but his steps stopped about ten feet from the entrance.

It was not a cottage, but a new structure and iron. Farah could see him clearly as he stood next to Mike. It was an altar. On top of the altar, there is a Chinese plate with blackened herbal remains. Among the dishes are artificial flowers that have faded due to exposure to sunlight, bottles of wine that have been open and dusty, small perfume bottles, and the rest of the candles.

"Voodoo" whispered Mike. "Making your stomach feel turbulent, some say they summon demons called breed, who live under the bridge and only come out at night to eat the flesh of passers-by around the bridge. In addition, there were still other creatures turning wolf-headed humans, and they used to ambush humans, then tear apart what men had but no women had. Very sadistic. And Voodoo doesn't like the arrival of outsiders."

Mike looks agitated. "I haven't seen any sign of them around here lately. This island has been abandoned for a long time. Even so, I think we should just keep getting inside. Here, we're in a place that's too open." Suddenly, near them, a white owl screamed, as it caught a small pigeon. Farah and Mike walk so fast that Mike loses his hat, while Farah loses his hairband. They did not stop until they reached the end of the road by the pond, where they sat in a state of panting, sweating while leaning under the tree.
