Get Down to Business

Don't be stale

This morning, Vira left early for Senayan. There's a lot to do before the recess period starts next week. Mr. Faisal plans to hold a briefing on the increasingly crowded work schedule. There's a commission working meeting and hearings this week. Next week according to a chat message from Mr. Faisal, Mr. Herman kindly invited interns to participate in a visit to his constituency in Yogyakarta.

It turns out Vira came too early. Even Ms. Fatmah had not yet seen her presence. It looks like some office boy is still busy cleaning the room. Vira walked on her tiptoe to her desk with the intention that her shoe tracks would not be on the floor that had just been cleaned. Her brown knitting bag was placed at the bottom of the table and then her right index finger pressed the computer button in front of her. Personal computers in this room work not too fast, at least need a few minutes to boot and can only be used. No wonder Mr. Faisal tends to use laptops for work.

Vira opens several available files to make a comparative analysis of cases and hear meeting results with stakeholders. Actually Vira only filled the columns that have been provided by Mba Putu, assistant to Mr. Herman who is on maternity leave. So it's not too difficult for him to do this because it's just going on. It's just that the events of the past few days have made Vira completely unable to concentrate. His feelings of sadness were so domineering and hindered his brain's rate of thinking.

Vira stared at the closed door when there was a knock coming from there. Without waiting for an answer, the thick brown door twisted open. The figure of a white man with a medium height and shoulder-length curly hair smiled at him while nodding his head.

“Good morning Mba!”

“Good morning! vira replied with a slightly suspicious face for not recognizing this figure in front of her. Who are you looking for?”

“Eh, I intern here Mba, I'm a student of IISIP,” said the half-budget man.

“Yeah, yes.iya, I know. The one from IISIP Lenteng it yes?” exclaim Vira.

“Hehehe, yes Mba. Introduce me Asep!” the man's hand extended towards Vira with the corners of the lips expanding.

“I Vira, intern student also from FISIP UI. Ms. Fatmah also never told at the beginning only we have never met because the schedule is different,” said Vira.

“Salam knows Mba Vira. Yes, Mr. Faisal asked me to come this morning. Said he wanted to talk about recess next week.”

“Wah samaan. Mas Asep Means we go together ya!”

“Hehehe, yes Mba, excuse me, “speak gondrong man who then walked towards the table in front of Vira.

Actually Vira wanted to invite a conversation with his fellow students, but he saw Asep was busy turning on the computer and occasionally looking at his cellphone. The look in his eyes was not once caught in Vira's direction. Urung asked to speak, Vira continued to fill the columns with available data.

Shortly after Ms. Fatmah, came to follow Mr. Faisal by bringing a coffee with the local Coffee Shop brand on the lower floor.

“Wuih, it turns out that everything is present huh?” exclaimed Mr. Faisal with a cheerful face.

“Eh, Vir .. You said you came to the event fiancee son of Mr Herman? ask Mr. Faisal suddenly . I was not invited. Koq you can anyway?”

Vira was shocked to hear Mr. Faisal's question that he did not suspect. “Eh, that's Sir, I was invited by Gani.”

“Loh Mba Vira participated in Mba Lydia's show too? Mba Vira is Mas Gani's girlfriend? I think from yesterday-yesterday the same encounter Mas Gani continued huh?” tukas Bu Fatmah's.

“Eh is not Mom, I am a good friend of Mas Gani, not a girlfriend,” elak Vira.

“Walah, cyraine. Rame not Mba Vira her show?” ask Ms. Fatmah.

“Just a little ma'am, like not ten tables,” replied Vira.

“Wah pantes are not hundang-ngundang. But Mr. Herman did not like the rame-rames of his people, said Ms. Fatmah. But Mba Vira is cool too, just a moment here has directly participated in the family event Mr. Herman,” continued Bu Fattmah again.

“Vir, have you met Asep?” asked Mr. Faisal to change the subject.

“Eh already Sir, just now,” replied Vira accompanied by Asep's nod.

“Pak, to Yogyakarta we ride what? Can you sanguo sir?” ask Asep lugu.

“Flight and unfortunately you can not sangu, but the business of eating, hotels, anyway accommodation during the trip borne by Mr. Herman. Later we arrange the itinerary,” explained Mr. Faisal.

“Pak Faisal, later I can ask for a letter from the Secretary General for recess permission for campus and family?” ask Vira.

“Not from the Directorate General. That later let Ms. Fatmah make it,” replied Mr. Faisal.

The two apprentices at Mr. Herman Sasongko's place recorded everything that was discussed. Visits to the electoral district in Yogyakarta include to several cities and districts and the parties that will be involved in the event made. Mr. Faisal also said that on Friday afternoon Mr. Herman will also visit Kali Progo, to discuss his business. Both Vira and Asep agreed to follow this entire set of schedules.

After lunch hour Vira and Asep rushed to follow Mr. Faisal to come the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with the National Narcotics Agency which is located in the 3rd Commission Meeting Room in Nusantara II Building Plenary Floor 1. Mr. Herman went straight to the location and did not go up to the office. Officials wearing formal suits and long-sleeved batik shirts began filling the seats available at the front while expert staff and apprentice students filled the remaining spots at the back.

Submission of data on the increase in the number of narcotics cases in Indonesia above 10% brings its own concerns, especially the rise of new routes used for drug trafficking. Commission III does intend to revisit Law No. 35 Years 2009 which is considered necessary adjustments in line with the latest data that has not been accommodated in the existing regulations. This meeting is aimed at filtering data, input, from related parties who have the same focus and goals.

A day at the Parliament House is indeed draining Vira and Asep especially for this week they are both asked to attend on the same day because the meeting schedule of council members is getting crowded before the recess period.

There was a milk iced coffee that Ms. Fatmah ordered when the meeting was over. Although when the meeting is available snack and bottle drinks but this milk iced coffee really provides freshness that can restore the stamina of Vira and Asep, the, especially after that they have to penetrate the dense transportation routes of the capital to the buffer area.

“I go home first, don't forget tomorrow morning we meet again. Ms. Fatmah, do not forget to book a plane ticket for Tuesday morning, take the one at 10 and the one from Surabaya at two in the afternoon. Special Mr. Herman, take business as usual ya Bu!” said Mr. Faisal reminded.

“Vir, earlier Mrs Ruth, his wife Mr. Herman sent a message saying he went home from work anyone wanted to meet. Someone will pick you up he said,” continued Mr. Faisal before exiting the door.

“Eeh, meaning Sir?” ask Vira wonder. But unfortunately Mr. Faisal has come out and cannot answer Vira's astonishment.

Vira and Asep just left the office after waiting for Bu Fatmah to finish the ticket business which was a little troublesome. For Mr. Herman who is a Board member and Mr. Faisal who is an Expert Staff, the financing is by the state budget and has special partners who work together at the institutional level. As for the Vira and Asep tickets, a fee is charged to Mr. Herman personally. However, each member of the council during this recess was given a large enough budget for a visit to his constituency, so it is not too much a problem especially Mr. Herman himself is a politician and a successful businessman.

“Hhmm, sorry, Mba Vira huh?” asked a man with brown brown brown sapodilla who approached when Vira exited the main door of Nusantara II Building.

“Eh, me? Vira was a little surprised to find herself being accosted by a man she did not know but her memory again twisted Mr. Faisal's words tens of minutes ago. The guy is Miss Ruth?” ask Vira to make sure she gets back.

The man nodded and said someone wanted to meet him at one of the restaurants in Sudirman. Vira suspects Ruth's mother wants to meet and may want to talk about Gani despite some doubts about it.

The white pearl Alphard car was running slowly to the rhythm of Jakarta congestion when returning home from work. The location of the restaurant located in one of the Office Buildings is quite close to the Parliament House plus the atmosphere in the car makes Vira forget the routine of white collar workers who are tiring when returning home from work. The man who introduced himself by the name of Darmanto drove Vira to the intended restaurant.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was still quiet. Not many visitors have come. Chandeliers that depend on some point of the chin are not too fluorescent because the blue sky that is visible from the large glass around it still gives light.

There was a middle-aged woman sitting alone. His face was busy paying attention to the gadget in his hand and then looked up ahead. The glasses are mined with gold-colored chains slightly lowered when Vira and this man named Darmanto walked towards the table located in the corner of the room. The woman who was carried by the midget smiled and Mr. Darmanto nodded and left Vira there.

“Please sit. Vira yes her name?”

Vira fell silent. She thought Miss Ruth would meet her but she wasn't. Yet faintly she had seen the face of this middle-aged woman somewhere.

“Pak Faisal said Ms. Ruth wanted to see me but I didn't seem to know Mom. Sorry!” vira said with a standing position.

Hearing Vira's words, the woman stood up. “Candramaya Pambudi. I'm Tjokro Adjie Pambudi's mother. Please Vira sit down first, there is something I want to talk to you about.”
