Romance In Makara Orange
Avalanche - Snow Avalanche

The first day down the mountain is to go to Bamboo. The tracks are a bit different, but they'll head to Deurali first for lunch. Deurali, where he stayed two days ago because of hail. As it descends, the trip will cut half the travel time.

Sandeep said although it was fast because it went down the mountain, the rhythm had to be maintained. It should not be too fast because it can harm the knees and toes.

“Mas Une, it seems over time if the road is ten,” said Vira impatiently.

“Gue wants to see Vir first. That's another Korean climber getting ready to climb the Annapurna summit. Cool it, can not be skudatin,” said Mas Une.

“Dody and Obi also want to see Vir,”, he continued, pointing to Mas Dody and Bobby who were outside with several climbers who gathered. They stood around the Korean climber who arrived yesterday afternoon on a helicopter. They intend to climb the Annapurna summit and are practicing acclimatization.

“Lagian also hastily. Kan, it has arrived the destination.”

“Vira has been satisfied to see Annapurna mas, want to go back to Macchapuccre again. Yesterday was just a moment there, not perfect photos.”

“Depart now or ten o'clock, will both pass there also.”

Vira scowled and fell silent. It was impossible for him to refute Mas Une.

Mas Cokro looked at him and stood up to Mas Une.

“Ne, let Vira go with me. You're here with Dody and Obi.”

“Yesterday I haven't seen Macchapuccre's details either. Let's be with Vira. I take care of him not to get rough again.”

Vira was surprised to hear the words of Mas Cokro.

“Don't Mas, don't need. Vira is not koq. Later with all the same,” reject Vira smooth. He felt bad and scared.

“Nothing, just relax. Backpack is ready koq, just brought Satya,” sahut Mas Cokro.

“Tumben.”

“Means?” asked Mas Cokro who was looking at him with a confused face.

“Tumben, Mas Cokro chat with Vira,” answers slowly.

_______________

Mas Une finally allowed Mas Cokro and Vira to descend on Macchapuccre first. Even Mas Cokro said he only met lunch in Deurali. The same place two days ago when they were forced to stay because of the hail that never stopped.

Vira was stunned to hear that. His mind floated back. It was the place where she felt her first kiss. From someone who is not close to him at all. And now, Vira with that person is heading there. Both.

Once again Vira was silent. There is no rejection.

The journey down is easier. Not too tiring because automatically the feet always invite to walk even half a run.

Mas Cokro did not say much and offset Vira's footsteps. Unexpectedly, Vira was quite fast on the way down this mountain.

“Vir, wait,” said Mas Cokro who stopped Vira's hasty footsteps.

“Iya, Mas. Why?” ask Vira.

“That's no bird, good,” point Mas Cokro towards the grass near a small flowing river.

“Oh, my goodness. Very funny bird. Koq can do Mas squirm birds as small as this.”

He took the camera and Vira began shooting birds with blue on the chest with several shots.

“There's a myth about the bird Vir. You can only see on the path to Annapurna Base Camp aja.”

“Times anyway Mas? What myth?” ask Vira

“That bird was the incarnation of the Goddess who would lead climbers to find their path and give good luck,” explained Mas Cokro.

“Mas Cokro can. This is the path.”

“Yesterday Sandeep story, because I'm the same Une also found this bird. The color is black mixed marun.”

“Pas fog dropped yesterday?” ask Vira again.

“Iya, so yesterday arrived quickly at lodge.”

“Vira didn't find the bird yesterday. No look, all the fog. Vira thought he would get lost again. Want to faint it feels.”

“But now meet,” said Mas Cokro.

“Waaah, will be lucky dong we both Mas?” sahut Vira girang's.

Cokro smiled and did not answer.

Macchapuccre or also called fish tail [fish tail] stands so majestically in front of Mas Cokro and Vira. It stretches all the way to Deurali.

So sorry Vira did not realize it yesterday because of her bad mood. Precisely when he returned here, Vira even with the person he avoided yesterday.

Vira enjoys a warm drink with Mas Cokro at tables arranged in front of the restaurant. The tables were once filled with foreign climbers when they first came here. Sipping lemon ginger honey slowly while looking at the cliffs that are arranged to reach the top. Looks mighty.

At first with Mas Cokro it feels awkward. His memory always floated on the warm kiss of tobacco taste that rubbed the lips of Mas Cokro. Vira tries to forget about it even though it is difficult. This is a first for him.

But Vira did not want to take her feelings any further. Anger at Mas Cokro is the thing he wants to avoid. Even revenge is not him. It will only pile up guilt. Especially for Kosa.

“Still want here what's the way to Deurali?” tanya Mas Cokro broke the silence

“Mas Cokro want to go first?”

“Gak. I promise you Une take care of Vira. If we are happy here, we will go there. Take it easy [just relax].”

He saw back the face of Mas Cokro who was filled with black feathers and long-length sideburns. Smoke came out of his nose. A mature face, very mature. Reminds Vira of Indonesian actors who once played the father of the nation.

“Why continue from earlier? Anything weird?” ask Cokro.

“Eh, eeh, not koq Mas.” Vira flutter. Shame turns out Mas Cokro realized his attention.

Mas Cokro laughed and then went back to smoking his cigarette deeply.

The trip to Deurali for lunch is like repeating the trip two days ago because the route is the same. They both walk. In concert. Not ahead of each other. Not slowing each other down.

There are actually two side-by-side directions separated by a large river towards Deurali. Annapurna and Macchapuccre. Both lines opened.

But the Macchapuccre side must go down the hill, this is different from the more sloping Annapurna side. Therefore, Vira chose the same path, on the side of Annapurna that makes the legs not too tight.

“Mumpung here, we should try the other side Vir,” Mas Cokro invite when at a crossroads.

“It looks like other climbers are also taking that path,” he continued.

“Ih Mas's. If it can be easy why also have to bother taking the hard road anyway?” reject it.

Cokro did not argue. Let Vira make the decision.

The journey with Mas Cokro is relatively quiet. Unlike Bobby who can always make himself excited. Can make him respond to each other every chat that is thrown. This situation makes Vira feel itchy mouth wants to start the conversation.

“Mas, why should there be two paths to Deurali?” ask Vira.

“Normally in spring, snow on the top of the Himalayas melts and avalanche likes to happen [snow slopes],” replied Mas Cokro.

“Masa anyway? Can koq? Isn't it eternal snow?”

“Ya can do it. Just a little, not everything.”

“When Mas? Eeh not now still in spring?” Vira suddenly felt scared.

Mas Cokro smiled. “Normally most often in March and April.”

Vira's steps stopped for a moment. There is a fear that comes to haunt. What if he and Mas Cokro pass by and there is an avalanche? What if they were both trapped in the snow? Vira could not imagine its continuation at all.

“Koq stop?”

“Mas, back again, through the side lane Macchapuccre aja,” invite Vira suddenly.

“Why?”

“Fear Mas, fear of landslides.”

“Casual, this is halfway. Soon until Deurali.”

Mas Cokro then walked away leaving Vira who was still stopping. It is impossible for him to leave Mas Cokro to return to the intersection he had been through since an hour ago.

“Mas…. Mas Cokro, wait for Vira Mas!”

About half an hour they walked until the steps of the two stopped again. The road in front of them was covered with snow and rocks. The stack is pretty thick. There are no gaps to be passed. Looks like the avalanche was already a few hours ago.

Vira and Mas Cokro looked at each other and laughed like they had good news.

Vira relieved. Though Vira imagined the worst possibility he feared the most if trapped by the landslide alone with Mas Cokro. Caught just the two and Mas Cokro hugged her warmly. Or even Mas Cokro could have kissed him once more.
