Romance In Makara Orange

Romance In Makara Orange
Two Hours Two Dollars in Ulleri

Before leaving in the morning by jeep, there is a briefing with Sandeep, guide and two porters who will bring equipment during the climb.

There is not much to talk about because Sandeep seems to understand that Mas Une, the team leader has experience with climbing. Mas Une asked Sandeep to walk not far from Vira because she was the only woman on the team.

There were two jeeps that took them from Pokhara to Hille. But Sandeep invited to the Tibetan refugee camp and just stopped by and gave appreciation for their craft efforts to survive in Nepal.

They were invited to pass through the stone streets on foot about ima hundred meters. In front of the gate there is a row of tables that sell various souvenirs made of rope, colored stones, and acrylic with Tibetan motifs.

Vira bought a bracelet from a thick strap with a monochrome color with a simple motif. It seems like this fits as a gift for Kosa. Sandeep translated the words of the seller ibahwa the motive chosen by Vira was a common motif used by boys.

After buying, Vira along with mas-mas climbers into the refugee dormitory. Mas Une, Mas Cokro and Bobby take off their shoes and enter the temple which contains a large Buddha statue. The temple is located right next to the dormitory. They followed a short ritual of asking for a prayer of salvation in the ascent with maroon-clad monks in it. Vira and Mas Dody just looked from the outside,

Jeep stopped briefly in Nayapul to take care of the climbing administration. Sandeep said his lunch was at the last post of the car stop, as afterwards it would be passed on foot to start the climb.

The initial route of the climb from Hille to Ulleri was originally a road from dense dry land and then dominated by stairs consisting of rocks. Sandeep said there were ten thousand steps they climbed today to get to Ulleri. Vira was astonished to hear it and was even more astonished when Sandeep said that every day they would go up and down two mountains to reach the Himalayas.

This first track according to Sandeep is the easiest. But Vira feels incredible achievement. His breath was stingingly irregular when he only walked less than 50 meters.

This caused Vira to always be left behind. Mas Une, Mas Cokro, and Mas Dody had already disappeared from Vira's sight. Only Bobby faithfully waited in front.

Each Vira rises 50 meters then certainly Bobby there is 50 meters in front of Vira. Sometimes Sandeep is in front of Vira and sometimes disappears from sight.

The path to Ulleri passes through several villages and there is always a marker to indicate the correct direction of the road.

“Vir, come on semangaaaatttt,” shouted Bobby.

“Hahahaha... geez Bi, I was like a boy yesterday afternoon,” said Vira taut.

“Elu must have his own rhythm Vir. One, two, three. One, two, three. Do not take a quick breath by mouth. That's what makes cepet tired.”

“Hahahaha Vira was still busy breathing.

“Vira, you should manage your time. It’s not good if you take a rest too long, [you have to set the time, do not mostly rest]” said Sandeep who was right beside him.

“I get it [i understand], Sandeep.”

Because it is still on the initial track, the climbing route still passes through many houses. Looks like the kids are playing. Vira always took the time to take a selfie with them. The surest trick for them to want to be photographed with a fluffy smile is to give them chocolate candy that they brought from Indonesia.

“Sandeep, it's okay if you wanna go first to the lodge. I don't want miss this moment. I really enjoy the process to go up there [It doesn't matter if you first get to the inn. I don't want to lose this moment. I really enjoyed the climbing process],” Vira said when Sandeep reminded me not to stop too much to take pictures.

Sandeep simply smiled and Bobby was nowhere to be seen in front of his eyes.

--------------------------------------------

Vira was the last to arrive at the inn. The men had arrived about two hours before Vira. Mas Une was already waiting for him at the inn gate with a fresh face and the smell of soap coming out of his body wrapped in an outlayer.

“Vir, very long? Why just?”

“Hahaha, sorry Mas Une. There were photos of the same mulu boy along the way,” replied Vira.

“Yes, the Bobby story. That's why he left you. I was going to be with.”

“Hahaha, it's okay. Only Vira apologizes if you make Sandeep to wait for Vira doang.”

“Luck Vir. We rent a guide and the goal is to keep you.”

“Hahaha, Mas Une can be aja.”

“Vir, you dapet room on the second floor at the corner, yes, the key asked Sandeep. There's a water heater inside, it's only five minutes hot for you to turn on. So I can't take long to shower. It's cold,” is clearly Mas Une

“Let's eat the mallem at his restaurant downstairs, seven o'clock ya!” connect Mas Une.

Vira rushed to her room. I saw his backpack in the room. It turned out that Sakar, the porter carrying his backpack, kindly placed his backpack next to a thin mattress covered with wooden cots. There was a thick blanket and there was no heating.

-------------------------------

The air at night is still about 10 degrees Celsius. Vira deliberately only wears a sweater coated with an outlayer. The restaurant in this inn is quite spacious, can accommodate around 30 people.

“Viraaaaa Bobby waved his hand from the corner of the table. The climbers were all present. Vira rushed towards them.

“For so long Vir, sit here next to me,” Bobby said.

“Sorry mas-masku all. Abis shower directly sleep,” said Vira while crying.

Vira opens the outlayer because it turns out that in the restaurant using space heating. Wearing it makes it sultry because the thin sweater it wears is quite warm.

All ordered large portions such as Dal Bhat which became the staple food of choice for climbers except Vira who ordered biryani rice and warm honey ginger lemon. Looks like the men of this climber eat so greedily even to add the rice twice.

After eating, Vira approached Sandeep to ask for a wifi password. It costs only two dollars or two hundred rupees. Time is pointing at the number eight and the restaurant closes at ten p.m. The signal didn't reach the room. Vira has to fight with a time of only two hours to use the internet signal properly.

The first thing I did was call my mom and tell her that Vira is fine. The taste of Vira's kangen to mama is dominated by her concern for her health and her longing for Mama's cooking. It was Vira all wanted to call Natha and Mirna but it seemed like it was enough just to send a message through Mama alone.

He saw several climbers including Mas Dody busy calling. Mas Une and Cokro were engrossed in chatting while smoking outside the restaurant. I don't know why the two of them could stand in such cold outside air. Bobby was busy playing his gadget.

Vira directly presses the video call button to Kosa. Long enough this application tried to connect it but apparently there is no answer. Three times Vira pressed vcall but still not connected.

First day climb with various flavors experienced. Desire to tell about his tiredness to Kosa. The desire to share the joy that he got to the lodge after passing two mountains. He just wanted to tell Kosa. But Kosa did not answer.

“Why is your face sad so Vir?” ask Bobby

Vira looked up and set her eyes on Bobby.

“Ih, visit Bi,” says Vira.

“Gue there are some photos of you, want me to tag in Ig gak?” said Bobby.

“Have a little Ig. The Fesbuk Bi.”

“Waduh, long time no use fesbuk. I share in the group lah.”

“Japri aja Bi, if ugly would not be public consumption,” joked Vira.

Hearing Bobby's words, Vira recalled her medsos. Vira immediately opened the application fesbuknya and chose some photos worth viewing. Photos of the scenery and faces of Nepali children who photographed with a cheerful face because of the services of the chocolate candy. Photos of residents and some elderly people sitting outside their homes. Description of the first day climb. There's a lot I want to tell you.

After that, Vira wrote some messages to Kosa.

[Where to? Vira vcall not answered?]

[Same parents]

[Today's the first ascent to Ulleri. Up 10 rb stairs Bang, capeeeeek]

[The photos are in the fesbuk ya Bang]

[Yet]

[Vira can not be long Bang, the internet is dead at 10, just a moment again]

Viewed again the application message green light leaves. No chat reply from Kosa. The message only ticks two in gray.

The restaurant has already started turning off some lights and some. The clock shows at 10 p.m. They began to remove folding mattresses and blankets in large quantities. It turned out that the restaurant was turned into a bed for the guides and porters at night.

Vira felt that the two dollars he spent for two hours of internetan was not worth the results he wanted. Vira is sad.
