Not Materialistic Women
On Monday morning when he woke up, Vira only realized that the task of South Asian film reviewers assigned by Mba Evi, her lecturer, had not been done at all. The internship and the events that happened yesterday completely made him forget to do college assignments. Never once did Vira not give up her duties
his college. Although the film reviewer this time only has a weight of five percent but still the task that he has to do. Vira promised Mamah Papah that he would not leave college for whatever reason.
Vira deliberately left for college early in the morning, at six because the campus provides free hotspots. Monday morning watching an Indian movie with a bad mood is indeed something. Fortunately Vira brought a tumbler of warm tea plus two fillings and fried tempeh.
The duration of the film is quite long, about two and a half hours. There are some that are deliberately missed like dance because it does not have a correlation with the indicators of the reviewer that must be discussed. Recently Vira only discussed the film by not adding much analysis from the recommended journals. The important thing for him was to complete his task on time as the e-system used for task collection would automatically close at nine in the morning.
Vira just entered the class at eight-thirty because he just finished working on his recension. Mba Evi class is a class that is quite a lot of fans. Although the task is many but the value of A minus is not too difficult to get. Mba Evi seemed not to care too much about the students who arrived late, his class was not too many rules either. Anyway as long as it is not noisy and disrupts its class, anything is not a problem.
Mba Evi's class ended at exactly half-eleven. He put the 10-inch laptop into his brown knitting bag. As usual, he was always the last one out of class. More comfortable it does not feel crammed out of class and queue the elevator which is only two in number.
“Hey, Vira, still want me not?” exclaimed a man who appeared suddenly in front of the door of his class.
“We met tonight. At the same table. Remember not?”
“Aah, yes,” said Vira slowly. His heart grieved why this man had come all the way to campus. Why did you know what college Vira was. How strange. But Vira doesn't care much. He rushed to the elevator, but the man chased him.
“Vir, wait a minute. Koq ran away anyway?”
“Aaan anyway? Who do you want to meet? Me? Are we making a deal?” vira asked as she leaned her head towards the man
“Koq, you are so fierce. I want to meet you.”
“What solution? The feeling we do not know very well, why also meet me?”
“Gue just wanted to talk about my sister, Adjie. You must know who he is.”
“Gue doesn't know a guy named Adjie. There's Adjie Massaid, the actor but he's dead,” elak Vira who has now changed his speech style so upset.
“Elu know koq. Maybe you know him by the name of Cokro and yesterday at the party, I saw you chat with Mas Adjie several times.”
Vira was speechless and in a tingly tone replied “Gue did not know brother lo.”
Vira can't wait for the elevator to go unoccupied, as almost the entire class comes out at the same hour. Students are already lined up. Vira then half ran down the steps one by one to head downstairs and the man chased after him in the back.
Arriving downstairs, the man blocks Vira's hand. “Shortly, please. Just moment. I just want to talk to you for a minute. I promise just a moment and won't bother you again.”
Some eyes looked towards them. This guy seems like a senior on campus and his hand holding Vira's arm can cause bad gossip. Vira is not well known on campus but other students may remember her as Kosa's girlfriend.
“Please my hand and please do not arbitrarily hold people's hands, not polite!” cetus Vira with a tone that was already so upset.
The man then freed Vira from his check. “Please, just a minute!”
Vira fell silent. Regardless of what this man was talking about, Vira could not imagine it at all. Whether Mas Cokro's younger brother will threaten him or become a messenger from his brother.
“But I don't want to talk here,” said Vira.
“As far as you want to go anywhere, I'm coming. Take vehicle?”
“Gue can ride ojek online,” replied Vira.
“You can come with me if you want. I brought a motorbike," invited the man who was inexplicably nudged by Vira to agree.
Vira followed the man towards the motor park located right next to Building H. Tracing the small path that is a shortcut commonly passed by students instead of passing the path that has been provided.
It turned out that the man was carrying a sports bike and made Vira complain slowly.
“Gue mending ride ojek online aja kayaknya,” said Vira.
“Why?”
“Difficult up and down, make it complicated!” Tetiba Vira imagines how good it is to ride a Vespa Kosa. The rear seat seats are spacious and aligned, not swooping forward like this.
“So soon, it's okay. You can take a taxi home. There's something important I need to talk to you about. We make it fast so you also do not feel disturbed.”
Vira finally agreed. It seems like solving this problem faster is better. Otherwise, it will accumulate pain in his head.
It's really uncomfortable Vira riding a motor sport with a man she just met last night. Although blocked by his knitting bag as a barrier but still Vira was forced to hug the man so as not to fall when the motor drove quickly through the not-so-dense Margonda highway. Vira was a little bit scared because he did not wear a helmet and was afraid when he was picked by the police.
The atmosphere of Margocity is not too crowded because it has not entered lunchtime. The man ordered a glass of cold brew for him and a cappuccino for Vira at the coffee shop located near the mall entrance. Deliberately choose a secluded place, in a fairly comfortable corner for a place to talk.
“Actually I forgot the name lo,” said Vira honestly when the man brought her a glass of cold cappuccino.
“Bagas. Sambara Bagas, you can call me Bara or Bagas. It's up to you.”
“Koq you can know where my class is? I've never seen you on campus,”
“Gw management boy, MM-MBA, graduate,” he replied which made Vira nod. One of the majors with a fairly expensive cost for the master program.
“Because you are senior despite the different faculties, I do not have to call you brother right? I males call Mas or me you,” cetus Vira frankly.
“Luck it,” Bagas replied while sipping cold brew and then popping his mouth.
“So, what are my intentions to do? Mas Cokro who told you?” ask Vira directly.
Bagas laughed and made Vira frown. “Hahaha, you are really fierce huh?”
Vira fell silent and preferred to sip her cappuccino. The taste of this famous delicious drink is at least powerful enough to control his emotions that have not been too good since yesterday.
“Elu already given what are the same Mas Adjie?” tanya Bagas suddenly made Vira almost choke.
“Hah, crazy lo nanya so to me. Offhanded!” Tetiba Vira's anger peaked upon hearing Bagas' question.
“So usual and you don't need to be angry. I'm just thinking and not judging you. I just want to have a regular chat, take it easy.”
“Sepentient what the hell do you have to take care of the problem Brother lo it? Don't know the meaning of privacy?”
“Hahaha, it's not really my brother's business, but it's my family's business. I don't mean to nakutin you, but maybe you will be dragged into a bigger problem,” said Bagas.
“Yesterday night at home, Mas Adjie told Father Mother that he would break off his engagement to Mba Lydia. All this time my brother never once mutusin engagement. It's always the girl who dies because Mas Adjie doesn't care about the guy. Mas Adjie was never close to any girl after Mba Ayu died. And when Mas Adjie chatted with you, my family had assumed that you were the reason why Mas Adjie made that decision.”
“Koq me? Wait, sec. Do you mean Mas Cokro wants to break up the engagement with Mba Lydia? Really?” vera asked him to try to get certainty. Sipping his cappuccino to reduce anxiety.
“You're happy that my brother chose you from Mba Lydia?”
“Hah, question bego. I think it's your habit yes if you talk carelessly.”
Bagas laughed. Only this time he was called bego and it was by undergraduate students who had not graduated. Either way, Bagas felt that this woman in front of him was not what he had thought before.
“Gue tell you. I met Brother Lo it in the mountain, not in the Mall, Boutique, let alone dugem place. I can see my own style. Starting from head to toe, there is nothing fancy. You ask, What did you give me? A bunch. Diamond ring, shirt, cake, flower, chocolate. The ring was playing to me without me asking. I turned back but he asked me to keep it. But catet ya for you if I never even ask anything to Brother Lo. Sorry, I'm not a female matre.”
Bagas smiled widely with Vira's words thrown in a thin tone. Looks like a woman who is maintaining her self-esteem.
“Elu why smile wide all? Just so you know that I'm the same Mas Cokro there is nothing to do. At all. I already have a girlfriend, in case you nanya.”
“Hahaha……. Bagas laughed loosely with his face looking up. Makes Vira more upset to see it. I wanted Vira to shut her mouth to stop laughing. After all, the atmosphere of this coffee shop still looks quiet, not many visitors, if Vira had to fight even though no one would feel disturbed.
“Sorry..sorry Vir. I didn't mean to upset you but I'm not lying if you said it was funny.”
“Oath, you are not polite to be a guy. My face is not funny.”
“Hahaha, you're angry, you're the one who said I'm being rude.”
Vira was getting upset and he went to leave, but with a siggle the bagas held his hand, holding himself back from sitting down.
“Sorry Vir, sorry. I'm sorry. I won't worry about you anymore. But there's still a lot I want to obrolin with you about this matter. Please, don't go!”
Vira snorted in annoyance. Just this time he met a guy who was so annoying. Want the taste to leave this coffee shop although a little dear because the cappuccino is still left quite a lot. But he also wants to solve this problem as soon as possible without having to meet with Mas Cokro directly.
“Vir, I hope that if I ask you anything, you don't get angry. I don't mean to be rude, insult you or upset you. Because it's pretty important business for my family. Two family relationships, family business, my mother's feelings. I also don't want you to be considered the cause. My mother knows who you are Vir!” lang Bagas's.
Vira fell silent. His head became slightly dizzy. Why is his business with Mas Cokro complicated like this. Even he is not a lover of Mas Cokro, why can all his sister and mother be involved in this business. Family business? Family relation? Ah, imagining it gives him a headache. Sipping cappuccino to toilet to reduce the pain.
“Gue hungry. I want to eat first. What do you want to come here?” ask Vira suddenly. Questions that made Bagas shocked and astonished.
“You can't eat cake? I'll buy you some pastry. You can chat while eating here.”
“Can't, I'm not full I eat soan. If you want to come, you pay. But if you don't want to come, wait for me here. I'll be back in an hour,” said Vira.
“Eh, no. I follow. We ate together!” exclaim Bagas who then took his cellphone and motor key lying on the table.
Vira walked briefly towards the restaurant serving typical Nusantara food and Bagas followed behind. It was only a few meters away from the coffee shop they visited. Vira sat down at an empty table and ordered food.
“Lo I don't want to eat what? I'm the one who paid.”
“Lo does not want to pay nor does it matter. I am not very poor to pay for my own food,” grunts Vira.
Want it to feel Bagas laugh again but undone his intention. The woman in front of him was strange. I don't know what caused Mas Adjie to be interested. A different figure with Mba Ayu, his former sister-in-law.
Bagas was flabbergasted when the menu they ordered came. Increasingly flabbergasted when he saw Vira who ate voraciously with large portions.
“Lo if you eat this much huh? Every day like this? In front of Mas Adjie also ate this much?” ask Bagas in a tone not sure enough.
Vira did not answer and remained focused on her food. He does eat in large portions especially in a state of stress. Luckily his metabolism works fast at a young age so that the food that enters is converted into energy.
“Gue saw at the party yesterday like you eat not this sadistic deh!”
“Hey weirdo, mind your own business [hey freaks, don't like to take care of people],” said Vira.
Bagas laughed loudly at this. Never had she found a woman who treated her this harshly. This is the first for him.
Vira stretches her body after eating. He rubbed his feet and then closed his eyes. Aaah, for a moment Vira felt her life was so peaceful, without any problems until Bagas said something that made his head throb again.
“Gani says she's not your girlfriend. Koq can come to the party?”
“He used to sue me, only I refused,” said Vira while closing his eyes.
“Hahaha, I like your style of playful. Sadism is outrageous,” said Bagas casually.
“Whatever [whatever],” said Vira no less relaxed.
“Why did you refuse? Gani smart, tajir, polite, pious, dream all women.”
“Gue doesn't know Gani and I don't love.”
“Hahaha, really, joke you're fun! Who's your boyfriend?”
“Kosa, senior on campus, a year above me.”
“Ooh”
“Lo know?”
“Who is he until I have to know?” ask Bagasbalah.
“Ngapain also you ask who my girlfriend is?” reply Vira.
“Lo has the talent to be a thug,” said Bagas.
“Thank you.”
Vira closed her eyes and yawned. With a full stomach, the tangled threads on his head unraveled neatly back. Monday is not too many who come to the Mall so he does not need to feel rushed out of the restaurant to alternate with other customers.
“Vir, sleepy? Want to find a good place to sleep? I can book a room at the next hotel if you want.”
“Basic brash guy. Synthesize!” dumel Vira responds to Bagas' offer.
