Wei opened her eyes slowly as she felt a liquid object on her forehead and left hand. Wei was shocked when she looked at the floor where the maids and women in white were prostrating to her who was still lying down.
A healer realized that Wei was aware of his stupor that was more or less almost 4 hours. They all immediately begged Wei for forgiveness, many times until the girl went to sit down.
Wei grimaced slightly as she felt her forehead and left hand ache. He recalled the previous incident, when he remembered Wei then sighed.
"It's not all your fault, I'm fine now." said softly soothing. In Wei's heart also confirmed that she was hurt because of her own fault.
"How could it be the fault of the empress candidate? We are guilty of not taking good care of the future empress. Just kill us, empress-to-be, we deserve to die!" a waiter in the back row.
The girl on the bed bowed her head for a bit, making everyone there tremble in fear for not getting an answer.
"Is your life worthless? I am the son of a poor slave but if I am innocent then I will not ask forgiveness for my life or beg to be killed. You guys know why? Because my life is the most precious and can never be judged. Do you feel afraid or have no power to defend yourself?" wei said wisely as she stared at the one-to-one prostrating women before her.
Yes, Wei is indeed such a girl. If he is innocent then he will resolutely fight for justice. No matter what their status differences were to what extent, he would still seek justice. Therefore Jiang and Yihan often forbade him to come out of the forest to go to the crowd so that Wei would not make trouble with the nobles.
All the servants and healers lowered their heads, but inwardly tried to digest Wei's words.
"Fear will destroy everything. If you're afraid, you won't be able to get any more power fighting for justice." Wei added as she turned her gaze toward the chrysanthemum painting by the window.
"I'm sorry if the servant is presumptuous, the empress candidate, but we were wrong for not taking good care of the empress candidate. We couldn't justify ourselves after the chaos occurred today." this time the waiter who was in the middle row spoke.
"I told you that it wasn't your fault. Do you really want to be blamed?" wei asked with her chest down and up feeling annoyed with the maids that were in the palace. Do all the servants here always throw blame onto themselves when they are innocent? It really made Wei fed up even though she had not been in the palace for a day.
"Please forgive us, empress-to-be!"
It was silent for a moment because Wei was trying to regulate her emotions. The girl somehow wanted to change the mindset of the servants in the palace. He just wants people to value themselves more than they have to beg for forgiveness for mistakes they didn't make.
Just as Wei was about to say again, suddenly the emperor eunuch shouted from outside the house. "Give respect to the emperor!"
The door of the room was opened by Xian, featuring Fengying standing in front of the door gallantly. His face was not as angry as before, now he looked calmer.
The servants gave way to Fengying while prostrating. "We salute the emperor!"
As Fengying walked up to her, Wei immediately stood up and bowed to pay her respects. His mouth was made silent as Fengying suddenly hugged him tightly as if afraid of loss.
Wei really did not understand why Fengying was hugging her and why her heart was beating so fast at the moment. Could she have fallen in love with her future husband? Or. ah, that girl doesn't really understand. His body was so numb that he did not return Fengying's embrace.
Fengying stroked Wei's straight hair. "I think I'm going to lose the queen again. I was so scared I couldn't think clearly."
The man let go of his embrace then cupped Wei's face with both hands. He noticed the face he had in his grasp with a relieved look mixed in worry. It made the girl in front of him instantly be struck with an overwhelming sense of shame. Both of his cheeks were already flushed which again made Fengying worried.
"You don't worry me anymore, Wei. My heart almost slipped out of place when I saw you lying weakly on top of your bed. Please don't be like that again,"
Wei rounded his eyes, immediately he bent down. "Please forgive me for worrying the emperor. I just wanted to pick a pear but accidentally fell into a fish pond and fainted. I beg the emperor with all my heart to forgive me!"
Fengying sat Wei on the edge of the bed with herself sitting opposite Wei. They were silent for quite a while as Fengying focused on looking at Wei's face. He exhaled a rough breath as he saw that there was blood on the bandage tied to Wei's head. He did not like to see Wei get hurt because the girl was so precious to him. Fengying brought her face closer to Wei's face making the girl reflexively move away immediately.
However Fengying pulled her waist so that she could not go anywhere. Their faces were only five centimeters away at the moment. Fengying looked at Wei's eyes with a warm and gentle gaze but made Wei endure the turmoil in her chest half-dead. Wei's heart was beating very quickly as if it would be dislodged from its place in a moment. That strange feeling Wei felt instantly made her bewitch with the handsome face of Emperor Fengying.
"Do you really want to eat pears?" Fengying. "If you really want to eat it, just tell me. I'll bring you the best pears in the country so you don't have to pick them alone."
Wei was unable to speak. How can he speak when they are only a few centimeters away? Even to breathe Wei hardship.
"I'm..." Wei hung up his words as Fengying looked at him deeper and deeper. He immediately gulped down the saliva from feeling nervousness and embarrassment mixed in.
The understanding Fengying instantly smiled, after which she distanced her body from Wei making the girl breathe a sigh of relief.
"I'll order the waiter to bring the pear to your residence, lest I hear you get hurt again for picking the pear." Fengying recalled being directly nodded at the head by Wei.
"Okay, emperor. I thank you for the generosity of the emperor." said Wei with his head lowered.
"I will also hasten your marriage and inauguration as empress. We'll get married next week."
Wei was surprised not to play. His throat dried up instantly which made him cough a few times. "Next week?"
