Papa To Kirana

Papa To Kirana
Chapter 75 The Red Hooded Girl and the Wolf

A few days later,

“Papa, when will Mama come home?”

Kirana asked as she finished her toothbrush, and prepared to climb onto the bed. I didn't answer, pretending to be busy justifying the blanket.

I've been trying to meet Alexa for a week now at Alan's house. However, I was always not allowed to enter and eventually went home alone.

I always keep quiet if Kirana asks Alexa. Because I can't answer exactly when Alexa can come back.

I sighed, remembering how stubborn Alan's head was. I explained to him, it wasn't Kirana who put the ball on the stairs that caused Alexa to fall, but Alan's sister still didn't want to believe it. He was already angry with me.

“Papa don't know when Mama's coming home. But tomorrow we try to come again to the house of Om Alan huh?”

Kirana nodded. He seemed to understand the problem, so he did not ask again.

“Papa, read that book, please.”

Kirana's book is a fairy tale book titled ‘The Red-Tailed Girl and the Wolf.’

“But Kirana promises after Papa reads the book, Kirana should sleep,”

“Iya, Papa. Kirana Promise.”

Kirana held up her little finger which then linked to my little finger.

I lie down next to Kirana, open the book and start reading the story.

The Red-Headed Girl and the Wolf.

Once upon a time, there lived a little girl who always wore a red hood, so she was always called the Red-Headed Girl.

One day, the Mother told the Red-Headed Girl to deliver a cake to her ailing grandmother's house.

The girl in red hood walked through the forest, where she met the Wolf who wanted to eat the Red Hooded Girl and also her grandmother. However, the Wolf used a ruse.

The Wolf suggested that the Red-Headed Girl pick flowers to give to Grandma.

Meanwhile, the Wolf first headed for Grandma's house without the knowledge of the Red Accused Girl. There the Wolf ate Grandma, and slept on the bed disguised as the Red-hooded Girl's Grandma.

When the Red-Headed Girl came, she did not realize that the one on the bed was not the Grandmother but the Wolf.

“Grandma, why are your ears so big?”

“For grandma to hear your voice,” said the Wolf mimicked the voice of grandma

“Grandma, why are your hands so big?”

“For grandma can hug you.”

“Grandma, why is your mouth so big?”

“For I can eat you.”

The Red Hooded Girl was very frightened, and ran out of the house. He met the Woodcutter Man and asked him for help.

Then, the Woodcutter Man managed to put the Wolf into a trap. And the Red-Headed girl survived.

Kirana was silent for a moment, she pursed her lips, but her eyes twinkled in astonishment.

“So the Wolf disguises itself as Grandma, but the Red-Headed Girl is unaware? Weird.”

“White why?”

“Why the Red-hooded girl doesn't realize once she hears the voice of the Wolf. His voice must be different. Yeah, right, Papa?”

I frowned looking to think for a moment. Then my brain caught something from Kirana's words earlier, and my body felt stung as soon as I realized one thing.

“That's it!” seruku.

“Why, Papa?” kirana asked puzzled over my behavior that suddenly woke up sitting down.

I didn't want to tell Kirana, so I gave a smile and shook my head.

“No, Dear.”

I got out of bed, rubbed and peeked at Kirana like I do every night.

“Now sleep! I promised you, right?”

“Papa haven't answered my question!”

I smiled and said, “Because the Red Hooded Girl probably thought grandma was sick so not so suspicious.”

Kirana smiled satisfied with my answer. Then I turned off the main light and replaced it by turning on the sleeping lights.

Kirana also prayed before going to bed. But after that, he said again.

“Papa, I want to be the Red Hooded Girl!”

I just laughed, realizing Kirana always wanted to be a fictional character in the book. But anyway, I just agree.

“And Papa must be a Tree-Cuttering Man,” Kirana added again.

“Yes, Papa will definitely be the Tree Lumberman who always helps Kirana when Kirana is in danger.”

I said good-bye, walked towards the door, and closed it slowly.

Then I headed straight to my bedroom. Opening the closet, and each drawer, ransacked it until some things fell.

And my hand stopped when I saw the thing I was looking for. The disc that contains the recording of my wedding.

I put the disc in the laptop. My eyes scrutinized very closely every person recorded there. I increased the volume, so that the voice of each invited guest could be heard clearly.

In my mind, I was already able to pull the red thread. But I just need certainty.

I stopped the recording and replayed it to a few minutes earlier.

“Not wrong anymore. He's the one,” I muttered with eyes that looked fixedly at the person on the laptop screen.

“The person who gave me the necklace, was Harsa himself. She came to my wedding and Alexa's without anyone's suspicion.”

A sneer rose up on my lips as I had a plan to trap Harsa.
