Papa To Kirana

Papa To Kirana
Chapter 22 Sickness

I blinked my eyes, the corner of my lips still hurts from Rama's punch yesterday, but not too bad. I huddled under the blanket and heard Kirana crying.

How long has Kirana been crying?

I tried to get up from my sleep, but my head felt heavy. Just to stand up, I felt not strong. Moreover, walking and holding Kirana.

My body fell on the bed. The room is so cold, air enters the lungs like ice. Body shivers.

Even so, I had to grab Kirana who was crying in the crib. I forced my way, my hand reached out to grab Kirana's arm.

“Papa's here, Kirana. Sshhtt don't cry huh?”

My head was throbbing pain, and I gripped the edge of Kirana's bed. Feet feel limp and limp. So I decided to go back to my bed. Wrapping yourself with a blanket.

Just then, the front door was knocked on by someone. I had to stand up and walk to the door.

It turned out that the person who knocked on the door was Alexa who was still wearing her pajamas and her shoulder curls sticking out everywhere.

“Balin, I heard from my room Kirana was crying all the time. What happened to Kirana?” alexa looked worried.

I didn't answer, just shifted give way for Alexa to get in. And Alexa was right in my room. She immediately turned to Kirana who was sleeping while crying.

When Alexa held Kirana, I threw myself back into bed.

“Balin, Kirana hot body. It looks like he has a fever,” Alexa said with one hand stuck to Kirana's forehead.

“Baline. Balin. You hear I'm not?” Alexa tugged at my blanket. “Hey, what are you doing, so I just kept quiet when your son was sick?”

Alexa flicked my blanket and pulled my arm to wake me up. However, it stopped instantly the moment Alexa's hand touched my skin.

“Jeez, are you also hot?”

Then Alexa put the back of her hands on my forehead and cheeks.

“Mother and Rama are where?”

Alexa walked out of my room. Shouts Rama's name and soon re-enters because no one is home except me and Kirana.

“Mommy came home yesterday afternoon and Rama went blind this morning with his friends,” I said in a limp and trembling voice.

“Where?” ask Alexa quickly.

“Camping to the forest.”

Alexa breathed a long breath. “Hmm, then you have a thermometer? Let me check Kirana's body temperature and yours too.”

“There are in the box P3K.”

“P3K box is on which side?”

“There is... “ I thought for a moment.

Recalling when I last put the white box containing the drugs. However, unfortunately the memory in my brain cannot remember where and when I put it.

I shook my head, and Alexa nodded. She put Kirana back in the crib. Asking me to wait a little while he picks up his P3K box.

Alexa is back in a hurry. Checking Kirana's body temperature using an infra-red thermometer. He said nothing when he saw the results.

Then I sat down on the edge of my bed.

“Thirty-nine point eight degrees Celsius,” Alexa read the numbers listed on the thermometer.

“Balin, you and Kirana have a high fever. We're going to the hospital right now, right? I can drive a car.”

“No. No need to go to any hospital. It will also heal itself,” I said while tilting my body back to Alexa.

“But you have a high fever. If it gets worse how?”

I heard Alexa growl, she ruffled her waist and pulled my arm so I could face her.

“The problem is now that you have children, different when you are a bachelor,” hardik Alexa. “You must recover, so as not to spread to Kirana.”

Yes, it is true what Alexa says. I had to race to heal, in order to take care of Kirana again, so that Kirana would not get sick either.

I agree with Alexa.

And an hour later, I was in the waiting room of the hospital. Take the doctor's turn.

I pulled the hood of the jacket to cover the head. Alexa and Kirana are waiting in different places. In front of the doctor's office. I don't know if a pediatrician's patient is waiting in line as long as I'm currently in line or not.

The room of the general practitioner and pediatrician is different floors. So I couldn't see Kirana being examined by a doctor.

Alexa also prohibits, because the condition of my body is sick.

“On behalf of patient Balin Mahendra,” exclaimed a nurse in a soft tone.

My name was also called.

I was examined by a middle-aged male doctor whose stature was similar to that of Mr. Bambang, my former boss. After a brief examination and answering some of the questions asked, I finally walked out of the doctor's room.

Next I stepped into the cashier to pay the administrative fee, then to the pharmacy to take the drug that had been prescribed by the doctor.

I sat back waiting for Alexa to come. A large clock hanging on the wall of the hospital. The hour hand pointed to the number nine, which meant we had already spent almost an hour in the hospital.

Alexa emerges from the elevator. He pushed the baby carriage towards me.

“Sorry to wait a long time huh? I'll leave Kirana with you, let me take the cure Kirana.”

Alexa was about to leave, but I called her, “Alexa.”

Alexa step stopped, turn around, “what is it?”

I took out my wallet and stuck it out on Alexa. He understood immediately my intention.

“Oh yes, almost forgot.”

I looked at Alexa's back that was getting away, my mind drifting on my conversation with Mom yesterday afternoon, just before Mom came home.

Mom and I sat in the living room. Just me and Mom. Alexa has decided to go home, Kirana sleeps while Rama is bathing.

“Mother has told me what happened to you, Balin,” said Mother suddenly.

“Then, what is the response of Mr?”

“Bapak will keep Kirana a secret,” Mom squinted. “But after a long discussion, Father and Mother have agreed that you get married soon.”

I sighed, “Mother, I've told you so many times right? Right now I have no plans to get married.”

“Balin, if you marry people will not be suspicious of you. They will believe Kirana is your child and also your wife later.”

“Bu, now there are some friends who think I have a family and have children. I told them I was a widower son of one. And they believe it.”

Mom threw her face away and folded both hands in front of her chest. Then Mom bit her index finger nails, a sign of a restless mother.

“Until when will you cover this up? I'm worried you're being accused of being a no-no, Balin.”

I grabbed Mom's hand that was starting to snail.

“Until I managed to uncover the truth of what had happened to Karina as well as her father.”
