“Are you sure of your decision?” Ask the CEO of the company I work for.
Mr. Bambang.
That's the name that all employees use to call our CEO.
The fat, half-bald-haired man tapped his pen to the table and another hand held my resignation letter. Beside the big boss, sat the HRD who was staring at me intensely.
Now the three of us are in Mr. Bambang's room. The tallest floor in the company building. From Pak Bambang's room, I can see the view of the city with towering buildings.
White clouds that hang in the sky overshadow the activities of the city. If you glance down, you can see a row of vehicles snaking on the streets.
“Yes, Sir. My intention to stop working from this company is already round.”
“But why is this sudden? I was shocked to receive this resignation letter.”
Mr. Bambang waved my resignation letter, then dropped it on the table. Glancing at HRD.
I have decided to quit my job because I have to take care of my little Kirana.
Yeah, Karina's son I named him by a name that almost resembled his mother's. My work hours that leave in the morning come home in the afternoon, it is not possible to be able to take care of Kirana.
If I hired a nanny, I wasn't sure Kirana would be well taken care of.
After all, I have to hide Kirana's identity from others.
“It has been three days that you are absent from work. Then suddenly you came to the office just to give this letter. What's up, Balin? Is there a personal problem?” Mr. Bambang braked.
“No, Sir.”
“Then?” Mumbled Mr. Bambang standing from his big chair.
He circled the table, walking towards the window. Look out. Both hands went into his pants pocket. His face reflected he was thinking.
I must be wondering why I stopped working.
I feel like I'm being tried in court. I want to go home soon. Keep in mind Kirana at home. I left him to Rama for a while.
Kirana what are you doing? not crying, right? Rama took good care of it.
I let out a breath of saturation.
“Balin Mahendra,” Pak Bambang suddenly mentioned my name.
Makes me flinch from my daydreams at Kirana. Break the silence created.
“I admit you're one of my best employees. It's very hard for me to take you off this company. All this time your salary and benefits I think it's been comparable to your job.”
I nodded, “But the reason I resigned, was because I wanted to open a business, sir. It has been my dream since long ago.”
“Since the first?” Mr. Bambang smiled.
He seems to know I'm lying. But I'm not lying. I'm going to open a restaurant. I'm just hiding the fact that now I have an adopted son.
Mr. Bambang walked slowly towards me. “If it was your dream long ago, why did you make a resignation letter suddenly?”
Glug. I swallowed my salivary. I have to answer what.
“Sorry, Mr. Bambang, I cannot tell you in detail. But the main reason I stopped working is indeed because I want to open a business.”
Mr. Bambang laughed, “Can't you keep working while you start a business. Stop, Balin. Opening a business is just your alibi, right? Or something that makes you uncomfortable working here?”
I'm shaking. “No, Sir. I am very happy to work in this company.”
“No forcing you out?”
“No,” My reply is firm.
“Oh, I know. You must be this way because you want to bargain with me. Good. You want to raise your salary? How much?”
“No, Sir.”
“Then go up to the department?”
I shook my head strongly, “No, Sir. Absolutely not.”
“Become a financial director at this company?” Mr. Bambang raised an eyebrow twice.
For a moment I doubt. However, the shadow of my little Kirana once again flashed through my mind. “I stick to my initial decision, Mr.”
“Alright, but you know the company rules right, Balin. Resignation notification should be thirty days before you officially exit.”
Yeah, I forgot about that one.
But what can I do. Kirana is now my responsibility. If anything happens to Kirana, I can't forgive myself.
“I'm ready to accept the consequences, Sir.”
“Alright if that's your will. How unfortunate. You are one of my best employees. You can have a clear career path if you keep working for me.” Mr. Bambang patted my shoulder. I smiled at once moved.
The big boss aka CEO appreciates my performance so far. “I thank you for your contribution to this company. Success is always out there and if you want to get back to work, just contact me.”
What I caught from the words of Mr. Bambang, he thought I would work in a competitive company.
After making small talk with Mr. Bambang, I walked out of the main director's room and immediately became the spotlight of all employees.
Someone whispered softly to his friend. Someone took their eyes off the computer screen to take a quick glance at me. Some were blatantly greeting and asking for rumors about me quitting my job.
It's not a rumor anymore.
I walked to my desk to pack my personal belongings. Put it in the cardboard. For a moment I felt like I wasn't.
I feel unprofessional. I, who always prioritized work, was now defeated by Kirana. Kirana's the only reason.
All my personal belongings are neatly packed in cardboard boxes. I lifted up the cardboard, and walked out while giving farewell to my colleagues.
Including OB who often makes coffee for me as well as a companion, Joko.
So surprised he was when I said goodbye that he accidentally dropped the tray he was carrying.
Joko cried, “I can work here it's thanks to you. Why are you even out?”
I calmed Joko down. Then go to my car. I put the cardboard in the trunk. As I was about to get into the car, I stared for a moment at the place where I was working.
There are so many memories in this place. Joko was still standing in front of the door, waving her hands while sobbing.

At the same time, in a workspace.
A man wearing a satin robe was enjoying his leisure time in a high-back seat. He smoked a cigarette, and then exhaled his billowing smoke in the air.
A necklace with an H-shaped pendulum hung on the man's neck.
Then, a servant knocked on the door, with cautious steps, he entered the room.
Stop in the middle of the room.
“Master, the police have managed to find a car owned by Indra Irawan,” reports very waiter.
“Convince them that my illness is getting worse and if necessary create fake news that drops the good name of the Irawan family.”
“Good, Sir. But..”
“What?” the voice of the master is rising.
“In the car, Karina's body was not found. Only Indra Irawan.”
The master kicked down the table which suddenly made the servant aghast.
“Give your men to search for the traces of the woman jal**ng it! I wouldn't believe Karina died if I hadn't seen her body.”
The waiter nodded his head with a trembling body. Ask permission to leave the room.
The master pressed the cigarette butt into the ashtray. His hand switched to take the phone on the table, looking for phone contacts that he had not been in contact with for a long time.
“Maybe it's time, I called my old friend.”
