Chapter 16: Pretending

Freddin arrived in front of the Andreans' family residence. Laura Cassandra Andreans has a beautiful face in her short dress. Freddin's eyes were blown away, his heart beating rapidly.

"Why look around" asked Laura annoyed.

"We're just gonna have to go on a blind date for a while" Laura said.

"Yes I promise you a minute, just an hour, I know you have to date at two" Freddin said.

"I've postponed it to Three and the reservation is reset, fortunately Niko agreed" Laura said.

"So we still have two hours to choose Seira's gift" said Laura again.

"Ooo so the name of the doctor is Niko" said Freddin jealous.

"Yes, she was very kind to delay our lunch" Laura said.

Laura and Freddin chose the best gift for Seira. They've been through jewelry stores, clothes, cosmetics, bags, until the tam don't. They've been circling the Mall for almost an hour and Freddin has always disliked that choice.

"You're how the hell we've been around the Mall, you have to determine" said Laura annoyed while looking at her watch.

"Hurry up for a date?" asked Freddin pretending not to know.

"We still have an hour, let's decide immediately what to buy, then we determine the model" said Laura.

"Hour hands must have been a lot" said Freddin reasoned.

"How about a bag?" ask Laura.

"Bags are also many" replied Freddin carelessly.

She just wants to spend time with Laura and cancel the cute girl's date. Laura patiently still chose a few options of items to buy.

"Clothes, what about clothes?" ask Laura again.

"She has a lot" Freddin replied.

"It's clear that Kak Sharon has all that, we can choose the latest output, how could Kak Sharon not have a bag, a watch, and a lot of clothes" said Laura explained.

"Yes I don't know the models he already has" Freddin replied.

"Jeez, just pick the latest release" Laura replied, starting to get upset.

Time is going very fast, now it's 14:30. Only half an hour left for Laura's second date. He seemed to think hard in order to quickly pick a gift for Sharon.

Laura finally decided to choose the latest bag. At first Freddin was still another but Laura insisted. Seeing Laura who was upset and would be angry made Freddin finally agreed to buy a branded bag.

Freddin immediately paid for the branded bag for Seira's gift. Freddin also told Laura to pick a bag for herself. Laura refused because she had to rush to see the Doctor. Freddin insisted that Laura had helped him. Eventually Laura also picked one bag quickly and Freddin paid for it.

When he was about to go home to the parking lot, Freddin held his chest as if tight and fell limp. Laura who saw it immediately panicked and helped Freddin.

"You why? which part is sick?" asked Laura worriedly.

"I think my chest hurts a little bit" Freddin said.

"Yes, we went to the hospital to check on you" Laura asked.

"But you still have a date with the doctor" Freddin said.

Laura takes Freddin to the car and drives him. They went to a nearby hospital to check for Freddin's disease. While Freddin was being examined, Laura immediately contacted her blind date to inform him that she could not come today.

"I'm sorry it seems like today we couldn't meet, my friend suddenly fell ill and had to check up for the hospital" Laura said when she contacted the doctor.

"It's okay Laura, next time I hope your friend gets well soon" he replied.

Without Laura realizing Freddin was just pretending to be sick so that Laura would not be dating. He did not want the woman he had grown up with to be someone else's lover.

The doctor comes to Laura as his guardian and tells her that Freddin is fine. The woman asked the doctor to check once again because Freddin was really in pain.

Suspecting Laura headed to the bed of patient Freddin and saw the man smiling while holding his phone. Freddin was not aware that Laura saw herself in no pain at all. Laura suspects that even Freddin is only pretending to be ill so she fails a second blind date.

"Freddin" said Laura angrily.

"Eh you are Lau" replied Freddin stammering as he put down the phone and made a limp face.

"You don't have to pretend anymore, the doctor says you're not sick" Laura said.

"So I was really sick" Freddin replied.

"You don't have to cheat on me anymore, you'll cancel my show" Laura said.

"No, why should I cancel your show" Freddin replied unwillingly to confess.

"You don't have to pretend anymore, I took a taxi myself, it's your car key" Laura threw the car key at Freddin and walked out.

"Laura wait" Freddin said, chasing after the woman.

Freddin chased after Laura and pulled her hand. She didn't want Laura to go home alone. Laura refuses Freddin's invitation to drive her. The girl was so disappointed with Freddin's actions today.

"I'm so because I like you" Freddin said so loudly that Laura stopped her steps.

Seeing Laura who had stopped walking, Freddin immediately chased after her and held Laura's hand. The girl is confused by the sudden declaration of love from the man she used to crave. Laura seemed to not believe that Freddin would say such a thing to her.

Freddin pulled Laura's hand and forced her into the car. During the journey they could only speak a thousand languages. Laura did not question the confession Freddin had given. Likewise with the man, he did not clarify his intention of saying such a thing in the parking lot.

"I came in first, thanks for driving me" Laura said, closing the car door.

Seeing this, Freddin got out of the car and once again chased after Laura.

"I can't go in?" ask Freddin.

"Would you like to come over?" laura asked back.

"Yes" Freddin replied without hesitation.

Freddin and Laura break into the Andreans' house. It looks like Laura's father is eating alone. Freddin greeted him kindly and discussed a bit about business affairs. Laura brought him Freddin's favorite cup of tea that he always asked for when visiting Laura's house.

"Om been busy these few months with overseas business, you and Sharon occasionally play here accompany Laura ya" said Om Andreans.

"Okay Om, take it easy I will accompany Laura" replied Freddin.

Laura put an annoyed face towards Freddin. After her father and the annoying man finished talking Laura immediately went to the living room. Freddin followed Laura from behind.
