MY LOVELY AUTHOR'S

MY LOVELY AUTHOR'S
ON THE VERGE OF DEATH PART 3

            Narrator’s POV

“The place is really secluded, Arata.” Rama who drove carefully followed the departure of the Admiral team, feeling if the goal addressed by Laksmana and his team is a far enough destination.

“Yes, Brother. Lucky ... I did not follow the orders of the Admiral to return to the Wiyarta residence with my family. If I did that, I would never know if Author would be taken to a place like this ..” Arata answered while looking around the streets he passed.

After passing through the asphalt road, the car Rama drove entered a slightly steep road and still not paved. The road is just compacted soil before paving. Seeing that situation, Arata knew that the road he passed was a road that was rarely passed by the crowd.

“I remembered something ... “ Rama suddenly speaks as Arata tries to remember the streets and the circumstances surrounding him.

            “What do Sisters remember?”

“Then .. It looks like I've been here. I've been through these streets.”

Hearing Rama's words, Arata who had not been so interested immediately turned his eyes from the window to look at Rama who was sitting behind the wheel. “Never been here?? Why is Brother here?”

“Project Rangga. If I don't remember wrongly, maybe it was ten years ago, maybe even more. I can't remember exactly when, it was my first day as Rangga's manager and got the task to accompany Rangga to play his first film in the horror genre.”

Arata immediately remembered the film history of his teacher-Rangga. “I remember several times Master played movies in the horror genre. Thanks to several horror films played by him, Guru can be famous until now.  Even his role as a psychopath, to this day makes me really shudder in horror when I see him. Who would have thought that my sometimes annoying teacher could be so good at playing various roles.??”

“Rangga's first film, if I don't remember filming at a villa nearby. In that villa ... there used to be an unsolved murder case. The dead father was stabbed repeatedly, the child was hit on the head by a vase, while the mother disappeared without a trace.”

Arata shuddered in horror for the second time hearing the story. Not like the Rangga-Gurunya. Arata has never taken a role in the horror genre. The reason is easy, Arata is a little scared by the name of a ghost. Several times Asha made her watch horror movies while in her apartment and Asha just laughed great to see how Arata reacted when frightened even before the ghost appeared.

In contrast to Arata, for Asha, humans are more terrifying. The human heart is deeper than the ocean and human darkness is even darker than the deepest trough.  That's what Asha told Arata.

“Then what about that case? Is it still undiscovered?” Arata tried to ask while trying to expel the fear that suddenly attacked him.

“My year is yet. The child in the case survived but he lost his memory due to the impact received by his head. From the story of the screenwriter, the case ended up being an unsolved case until now.”  Rama explained by continuing to drive his car carefully so as not to be known by the Admiral's team.

“But in the movie ... doesn't the story have an end???” Arata asked to be sure.

“Yes, Arata. The film has an end. Do you know The Lady?”

Arata shook his name. “Do not know. Who is The Lady?”

“Writer of novels with the genres of mystery and horror. He used to be a famous writer who won several awards for his work. Unfortunately ... Until now, the name was just a pen name and no one knew who the figure behind the name was.”

“The film is based on the last novel of The Lady which was either coincidental or not, according to the unsolved murder case. In the novel it is explained that the killer of the father is the dark lover of the mother. After years of trying to get a divorce, the wife decided to kill her husband. But his son happened to see the scene and he was forced to hit his son. After committing the murder, his wife and lover disappear. What is surprising is the end part.”

Arata tries to remember the old film played by his Master while hearing the explanation of Rama who continues to drive. “I now remember that movie, Brother. If you don't remember wrongly, the boy then killed his own mother and his lover right?”

“That's right, Arata.  That was the end of the film and the novel. You used to feel like the ending of the novel was real as if The Lady saw the murder in person. Everyone who saw the movie said the same thing to me. But ... The police who tried to investigate the case did not find any evidence that fit the picture of the novel and the film. So ... everyone ended up thinking of it as a mere delusion.”

From distance ... Rama sees Laksmana's team car stop near a villa that looks familiar to him in his memory.

“Pak Admiral stopped his car, Brother!” Arata gave instructions to Rama.

“Ya, I know.” Rama stepped on the brake pedal in his car and stopped at a considerable distance but could still see the Admiral's team.

“Jadi ... is that the villa that Kak Rama and Guru went to?” Arata asked Rama because he was still carried away with curiosity.

“Indeed it's villa, Arata.” Rama looked at the villa that had not changed in the slightest.

“How can Sena know the villa, Kak?” Arata asked Rama again. But unfortunately ... This time Rama did not have the right answer to Arata's question.

            “I don't know either, Arata.”

*

Just ... I asked that many questions in my mind.  Coincidence or not? The Lady wrote her own story in her fourth novel? Wh why? Want to tell the world about mistakes that many people do not find? Or want to admit his guilt because he is haunted by guilt?

But ... Sena immediately gave the answer to all my questions.

What I think, nothing is right. The author who wrote the fourth novel using the name The Lady is the son of the owner of the name The Lady who is also the killer of The Lady itself. I think Sena wrote the story of her life with The Lady as a form of her love for her mother. Sena wrote a biography of The Lady in the last novel of The Lady which many thought was the work of another mystery The Lady. Everyone, all fans of The Lady will definitely not realize if the last novel is the story of the life of The Lady herself.

At the same time, Asha also finds out the reason why Sena is so obsessed with him while telling her dark life story.

Could Sena see her mother in me?
