Arata’s POV
After driving Author to see the bodies of his family one by one, Kendra along with the family lawyer Wiyarta-Tuan Raya.
“You can leave Asha to me.” Kendra's sister patted my shoulder.
I stared at Author with her face still wet with tears, kneeling in front of Author who was sitting waiting to make a statement and receive questions from the police surrounding her family.
“Bring this, Author!” I gave my handkerchief to Author.
The author nodded his head while receiving the handkerchief I gave him. “Go, Arata! You still have a job waiting for you!”
“Yes, Author. Promise me you won't do anything to worry you??” I looked at Author, demanding a small appointment from him. Leaving Author, it made me feel a little scared. I was afraid that when I wasn't next to him, he would walk away from me or do something that would make me lose him.
Author made her lips smile at me and I knew that smile was the one she forced on me, just to make me feel a little calm.
“Yes, I promise, Arata. I promise you I won't do anything crazy. I promise you, I'll be fine when you see me coming home. Is that enough?”
“I accept that promise, Author. I'll be back soon.” I nodded my head with a smile on my aunt a slight sign of my lethargic feelings. After saying goodbye to Author, I say goodbye to Kendra. “I Tipped Author, Kak.”
“Give it to me, Arata. I'll take good care of him.” Kendra patted me on the shoulder as a sign that she was someone I could trust. “As I said earlier when you called me, I will bring Asha home later. I've prepared a room for Asha. You just need to bring the Asha's belongings and another one .... “
Kaka Kendra stopped her words and looked at me with a serious look. I feel .. I know what Big Brother is going to say to me. “What do you want Brother to say?”
“Because our house is foreign to Asha and maybe the foreign environment makes her feel uncomfortable, it would be better if you also stay at home. How?”
As expected, Brother will ask for that. My return was the thing my father and mother had been waiting for. So ... Big brother will definitely ask me to do that because I asked him for a lot of help today. I let out my breath hearing the question. I breathed because I had no other choice. I know how Author has been. A foreign environment is something that may very well make her feel uncomfortable and the only thing that can make her comfortable right now is her me-lover.
“It was .. without Brother asking, I'll go home and stay at home.” I said those words with a relaxed face as if I had intended to do so even though my heart felt half-hearted to go home. But for the sake of Author, I'll do anything. Right now ... to me, he is everything. Author is my breath. Author is my world. Author is my life. “How can I send my lover to my house without accompanying him, Brother?? You may actually be judging my lover because it seems like you all like my beloved Author.”
Buk. Brother Kendra directly hit my head and made the sound of the punch sound until Kak Rama and Pak Raya, immediately turned his head to look at me and Brother.
“Why did Big Brother hit me??” I held my head, enduring the pain from Kendra's punch. In the past ... Kendra always does this to Kak Maha because her mouth does not know the time and place when talking and does not have a filter to choose words depending on the situation and circumstances. And that habit ended up continuing even as I grew up.
“At a time like this .. You can still show off your lover in front of me, huh??”
Thought ... Big brother would be mad at me for what reason, it turned out that the reason for hitting my precious head was simply because I was showing off my lover in front of him who was still single to this day. Sis Kendra and Kak Maha may have a handsome face, may be admired by many women, but unfortunately they are both still single because they are too picky in relationships.
“Blame yourself for being single, Brother!!” After saying that, I immediately jumped away and saved my head from the second blow that I might receive due to the small mockery I gave to Brother Kendra.
At 5 pm, I finally finished some schedule that could not be delayed. But thanks to the news spreading rapidly like a virus, some of the colleagues I worked with gave me a little leeway from hearing the news of the death of the Author family. At first the news about the fire was not big news. But thanks to the reporter who saw me and Author at the police station this morning, the news of the fire earned me a lot of sympathy.
“We stopped by Author's apartment first, sister. There's an item I have to bring for her and I need Nara to pack comfortable clothes for Author to use.” I gave instructions to Kak Rama before Kak Rama started his car engine. “You don't mind, do you, Nara?”
“Sure.” Nara replied with a small smile on her face.
After a forty-minute journey from the set, I finally arrived at Author's apartment along with Kak Rama and Nara.
“Please choose comfortable clothes for sleeping, then personal clothes that Author needs and some clothes that can be used for traveling, Nara.” I gave my instructions to Nara who took Author's suitcase and packed a few clothes.
While it was ... Brother Rama who felt a lot of dirty dishes piled up in the sink owned by Author, could not bear to see it and immediately wash it. Kak Rama is the type of person who loves cleanliness and is a little chatty about the matter.
Nara and Kak Rama were busy with clothes and washing, I was busy packing Author's work equipment. I packed Author's laptop with a charger, a mouse and some of his notes on his desk. Because Author left wearing his work glasses, so I don't have to carry them.
“Arata!”
Suddenly, Brother Rama called my name and made me flinch in a bit of surprise. “What's up, Brother?”
“Come and see!!”
I who just finished packing the Author's combat equipment to work, walked towards Kak Rama with a bag in my right hand. Brother Rama's hand pointed towards the kitchen table where there were several black envelopes that I recognized.
“This??”
“True ... the same envelope you once showed me, Arata!!”
“But why is it here?? I remember well, this morning these envelopes were not here.” After saying that I immediately put down the bag I was carrying and immediately opened all the black envelopes together with Brother Rama.
Nine out of ten envelopes on the table contain the same sentence as the envelope I once showed Brother Rama: You do not deserve to be with Arata!!! You are not worthy of him!!!!
Then another envelope contained something that surprised me and Brother Rama: Because the Wallflower Author never heard the warning I gave, he said, so this time I'm going to give the best present to Author. I hope Author likes the gift I gave her.
Other than that message, inside the tenth envelope was something else inside. I took it and found that it had a picture of some people in it partying at the dinner table.
I looked at Kak Rama and asked him while holding the photo in my hand, “Could this be ..”
Without hearing my unfinished words, Brother Rama nodded his head as if thinking the same thing as me.
The person who sent this envelope, was probably the perpetrator who burned down Author's house and made him lose all his family overnight.
