Mothers

Mothers
4 Great Arthuro Family

What happens in this novel is fiction.

Mahendra arrives at the prosecutor's office. He handed over the book he had obtained from the Kinanti house.

"Sir Nugraha. This is the book I got at TKP. Try checking your Kinanti account for the past year. Is there money coming in every month around five to ten million" Mahendra said handing over the financial books that Kinanti has.

"Well, sir." Mahendra's assistant Nugraha who always checks this and that is swiftly looking for Kinanti's account data.

"Mr Lili, please check Kinanti's phone calls for the past year as well. And check the owner's phone number."

Liliana immediately did as Mahendra commanded. Mahendra had a pretty good feeling after finding out who sent money to Kinanti every month and looking at her phone records.

Mahendra hung up his coat and was about to re-examine Kinanti's case.

Hape Mahendra reads as he is re-examining the Kinanti case. From LFN.

"Sir Prosecutor, we are conducting an autopsy on the body of our sister Kinanti" said a LFN official.

"Is there an order from the prosecutor to adopt it?" ask Mahendra.

"The family of Kinanti's sister has agreed to her autopsy."

Mahendra did not answer anything anymore. He hung up the phone call and immediately took his coat again.

"I'm going to the LFN. Kinanti's body is in autopsy" Mahendra told his assistant.

"But, sir, this..."

"Tell me by phone. I'm leaving now." Mahendra shut the door immediately.

Liliana and Nugraha looked very confused. Nugraha had just started searching for Kinanti's account.

"I think it's an ordinary suicide case, ma'am" Nugraha said.

"I think so too, sir. But if it's a typical suicide, why do we have to check his account and phone records?" Liliana thought the same as her partner.

"Is there something behind all this. Why does everything feel more complicated?" Nugraha thought further than he should have done.

"Yes right. I think this case is more complicated."

Renata could no longer afford to see Kinanti's body dissected. He immediately exited the autopsy room. At first Renata felt dizzy to see Kinanti's body split and slowly Doctor Azri slashed some other organs to be examined.

But since Renata could no longer see him he just sat in the waiting room. He leaned his head against the soft sofa.

Mahendra came in haste and saw Renata sitting in the waiting room. He caught his breath and approached Renata slowly.

"Miss Renata." call Mahendra.

Renata saw someone calling him. And that's the prosecutor he met yesterday.

"Is Kinanti's mother in an autopsy?" mahendra's voice sounded irregular. He gasped for a little while running towards the LFN.

"Yes, Sir. My mother's in autopsy." Renata confirmed his sitting position even though his body felt tired. Mahendra sat right in front of Renata.

"Miss Renata. If possible, I ask you about Ms. Kinanti.." Mahendra is a little hesitant if Renata wants to cooperate with the prosecutor's office.

"Yes, Sir. Is there something you want to ask?" Renata did not show the enthusiasm of talking to prosecutors. But Mahendra understood. Who likes it when someone who has died is talked about? Moreover, it was his own mother.

"Are you sure Miss committed suicide?" Mahendra asked slowly. He was very afraid if he offended Renata.

But Renata's reaction was another. There is a little enthusiasm in his tone.

"Why can you ask like that?"

"sorry. I have not been father before. But when I checked Miss's house, as a CTF, I found a financial book that seemed quite routine written by your Mother." Mahendra explained.

Renata looks a bit confused. He remembered the activities of the Kinanti. But rarely did he see Kinanti busy writing let alone about money.

"All I know is that my mother, whenever she has money, is kept as dead money. Sometimes the money is used if needed. But I've never seen Mom write about money."

"Maybe you know where the money your mother used to keep?" ask Mahendra.

"We can go to your house together. And also, what if you knew that your father sent money every month to your mother?"

Renata looks confused.

"Dad send money?" asked Renata in surprise.

Mahendra hid his curiosity. Although he wanted very little answer from Renata so that there was a little enlightenment from this case.

"I never knew about money and Mom never told me. I work part-time to make ends meet. If you have money, you shouldn't let me work from one store to another." Renata answered Mahendra's question honestly. He did not know about the money that Kinanti had.

"Then, how about we go to your house to check on the money your mother saved?" ask Mahendra. This time he did not hesitate any more on Renata. He believes that Renata is just as curious as Mahendra.

It took a bit of time to get an answer from Renata, because Renata thought first, whether this is true or not.

"Are you sure you can help me?" Renata still looks unsure of Mahendra.

"Do you doubt me? I'm prosecutor. I'll sue anyone who does anything unfair." Mahendra convinces Renata that he can trust him.

"Then you have to believe. My mother didn't kill herself. But there's someone who killed my mother." Renata is very confident in what he feels plus Doctor Azri said something strange to Kinanti.

"We'll know after we investigate."

Mahendra and Renata got up from their seats and they rushed to Renata's house.

Nina could not use the jewelry taken from Kinanti. But he had kept some bracelets and rings in his possession. Nina was sure, that Candra would not know about it. Nina wants Candra to one day only see herself, not Kinanti again. Because Kinanti doesn't look like Madam the owner of a big company. Kinanti is more similar to a messenger who can only wear ordinary clothes.

"Milina!" Nina immediately kept Kinanti's ring and bracelet in a safe place, which Candra would not have known.

Actually Nina had her own fears when Candra called her. But he can cover up that fear because Candra has given all the fancy things Nina asked for.

Candra has a private basement that can only be entered by Nina and Candra. Even his mother could not enter it.

Nina heads to the kitchen, chopping apples for Candra. Not much, only about 6 pieces for sweeteners each time Nina comes to the basement.

"Apple again?" ask Ms. Candra past Nina who was carrying a small plate.

"Yes, Mother." replied Nina quietly.

"You don't seem to know Candra's favorite. Learn from the Kinanti. He knows that Candra loves grapes and melons." Nina was silent and did not respond to her mother-in-law who always spoke rudely and cynically to her.

Nina walked slowly past her Mother-in-law and towards their private space underground.

After entering the basement, there was nothing special about that space. Just a relaxing space to spend time with a private home theater. The room was dimly lit because Candra turned off the lights, there was only a big screen to watch the movie.

But this time Candra didn't watch the movie. It simply plays Mozart videos that are played in a tone full of emotion.

Nina was a little cold sweaty. He smiled at Candra.

"You called me?"

Candra put on thin gloves, and turned her head towards Nina. He tightened the volume of Mozart's song.

"Why don't you ever feel sorry?"

"I'm sorry what do you mean?" nina asked not understanding.

"Why do you always bother Kinanti?"

Nina had not yet answered Candra's question, the plate Nina was holding dropped. Candra floated a fist on Nina's left cheek.

Ahhh!

"You should never bother him!"

Again Nina shouted.

"Even Candra! I-i'm sorry! ahhhhh!!"

But it's free. No one could hear Nina's scream. Because the private space is really designed like a cinema with thick walls and soundproof.
