"Mommy ..."
That weak call woke Hanna up. Likewise with Evan who slept on a fur carpet since last night. Star had already opened her eyes, although she did not seem to be fully conscious.
"Yes, Honey. Mommy's here" whispered Hanna.
Evan immediately sat down on the side of the bed and checked Star's condition. Her body temperature is back to normal.
Star looked at Hanna with weak eyes. His eyelids blinked several times when he realized he was in a foreign place. A beautiful room like a doll palace with painted walls pink his favorite.
He looked dumbfounded, then smiled at Hanna. “Mommy ... are we in heaven?”
That innocent question made Hanna and Evan look at each other. Star thought they were in heaven after seeing the entire room.
"Why, Honey?"
“Grandma Laura once said in heaven it's beautiful and there's her doll palace, Mommy. I can ask for any doll.”
Hanna painted a smile on her lips, but also a puddle of tears in her eyeballs.
"No, Honey. It's not in heaven" he replied with a cheek.
Evan stroked Star's face, which made the little girl look at him. Star's forehead creased as he realized who was there, the uncle of the big bakery owner.
"Uncle bread?"
Evan chuckled at the name of the bread uncle his daughter pinned. He kissed Star's forehead and back. If only he had not worried about Star's still weak condition, he would probably have hugged the little girl while crying. Telling happily that he is the daddy that Star has been waiting for.
“This is your room, son,” said Evan stroking the top of the head.
"My room?" Star's gaze re-examined the entire room, then looked at Hanna questioningly. "Really, Mommy?"
Hanna just nodded with a nod of her head. Star raised her head to look at each part of the room, so Evan woke up and placed two pillows behind her back.
"This is your room, honey. Everything in this room is yours."
"Gee ..." Although his physical condition was still weak, but there was a burning spirit in Star's eyes.
Hanna could see that from the happy twinkle that was clearly drawn on her face. Not just dolls, there are many other toys.
"The room's so cool, Mommy."
"Like, Mommy!" star said excitedly. "Is Daddy home yet, Mommy? Brother once said Daddy would give a lot of dolls when he came home."
Star recalled Sky saying some time ago that Daddy would give you a doll. That innocent question also made Evan unable to hold her. He peeped at the top of Star's head repeatedly until he felt like crying.
"Yes, Star. Your daddy's back. The one who is hugging you now is your daddy" replied Hanna.
Star immediately looked up at Evan, stared for a while, then looked back at Hanna.
"No, Mommy. This uncle owns that big bakery, not Daddy!"
"And that big bakery uncle is your daddy."
It seems Star has not believed completely. His innocent mind asked, how could the great shopkeeper's uncle be his daddy.
Evan looked at Hanna with love. One thing Evan knew, the fierce Hanna became very gentle as she explained something to Star. Regardless of his ferocious attitude if Sky makes a big mistake.
"Why could a bakery uncle be Daddy?"
Hanna smiled thinly. "Because he's your daddy, son. Don't you want to hug her?"
Quiet for a moment, Star lowered his head. Until Evan justifies Star's sitting position on his lap until they face each other.
"You don't want to give Daddy a hug?"
Star raised her head until their gazes met each other. "Is Daddy still angry? Brother said Daddy hated us. That's why Daddy doesn't want to go home."
Evan was crying right then and there. He kissed the little face over and over and hugged her.
"Daddy never hated you. Daddy love you guys, so! Forgive Daddy for just finding you. But ... From now on and forever, we'll always be together."
Star also dissolved in the warm embrace of his daddy. Then glanced at Hanna who was silent staring at them.
"Come on, mommy hugged Daddy too."
Hanna just sat quietly in her place, looking at the expectantly smiling Evan.
Come on Star, make your mommy hug Daddy!
