Me And The Rich Man's

Me And The Rich Man's
Chapter 17's

“Sky ... Where have you been, son?” Hanna grabs Sky's body without heeding Evan's presence. Hugging and immersing kiss for the sake of kiss. All the worries that had been haunting him instantly disappeared.

“I'm sorry, Mommy.” Little Sky's hand rubbed Hanna's face to wipe away the tears.

Glancing at the paper bag in Evan's hand, Hanna had already guessed that Sky had secretly gone to the cafe and asked for the kebab for Star. Yes, Sky loves his sister very much and will do anything for Star.

When he saw Hanna walking behind him, Evan stepped in even though he had not received permission from the owner of the house. Evan was stunned, his gaze sweeping across the entire small house. On the left side are two chairs and a dining table. There is a small bathroom in the corner of the room, the floor is only covered by plastic sheeting and a barrier curtain on the left. Through the gap of the curtain, Evan can see Star lying on a small mattress. In that instant, the clear liquid seemed to break down. Evan could no longer bear to imagine the day after day Hanna and her two children spent in the house.

“Thank you for driving Sky home. You can go,” said Hanna sitting Sky in the chair.

Evan wiped away the tears that had just dripped and hid so that Hanna would not see. He took a deep breath to strengthen his heart. “I heard from Sky that Star is sick. Can I see it?”

Hanna instantly silenced, but silence seemed to answer everything. Sobs began to echo. Although Hanna was a strong-minded woman, she was still a weak mother when her son was ill. After all, Star needed a doctor and this helplessness managed to subdue him.

Evan felt a tremor at each of his steps towards a small figure that looked so weak. Then stop while on the edge of the bed. From where he stood, he could hear every heavy Star breath. Evan stared from foot to head. Star's body was wrapped in a thin blanket to the limit of the neck, only her face looked pale.

Evan's hand stalling touching the forehead. His eyeballs were closed when he felt Star's body temperature being far above normal.

“Star ..” Evan grabbed the weak body and held it in a cry. A moment later, he got up and carried Star in his carrier. Get out through that curtain.

“Come quickly, Star need maintenance. We have to take him to the hospital.”

Evan's quick movements left Hanna no time to think. He reached out to Sky and walked out. Walking hurriedly behind Evan who had gotten out of the house first and towards a car parked at the end of the small alley.

"Ride up!" Evan opens the rear car door so Hanna gets on. He put Star in Hanna's lap. "Bus ... You're in front!"

As fast as a flash the car drove, darting in the crowd of the road. While driving, Evan grabbed the phone that was inside the dashboard.

“Demir, can you prepare one child's room for me? Yeah, I have an emergency patient. Please call Dr. Alaz. Tell me I need his help,” Evan told someone he had just contacted over the phone.

The atmosphere is becoming calmer now. Star is already in the care of several pediatricians. Hanna quietly stood up and just looked over the glass window. There were several medical devices attached to Star's body. His gaze was empty, as if powerless to even cry.

“Mommy ..” The gentle call managed to awaken him from the reverie, restoring his almost lost common sense. At least he has Sky who also needs attention.

“Star will be healed right, Mommy. Star will be okay?” The question caused a great deal of guilt. Feeling that what happened was due to his negligence watching Star leave unbeknownst to him.

“Star will be fine, don't worry,” said Evan carved a smile on his face and sat crouched before Sky, his stalling hands rubbing the tops of his heads. “Your sister is very strong. Soon she will be healed.”

Sky smiled, then clasped Hanna's fingers. “Listen right, Mommy. Star will recover soon.”

Hanna was still silent and created awkwardness between them. Evan stood up from his seat. It still has important business.

“Baiklah ... I have a little business. If you need anything, I'm in the right corner.”

Hanna simply replied with a nod of her head.

Evan headed for a room after making sure Star's state was stable enough. A doctor greeted him as he entered the room.

"Alaz, I really need your help" said Evan dropping his body on the chair.

"Yes, I know. You said that on the phone. But ... are you sure of your suspicions?"

"That's why I need to be sure by doing a DNA test" he said. "I have no other choice. Hanna is so stubborn, if I ask her directly, she won't be honest."

Evan shifts a small box in front of Doctor Alaz, which causes the geneticist's forehead to wrinkle.

"Is this a sample of the boy's hair?" Doctor Alaz grabbed a box containing a hair sample.

Evan nodded. Unbeknownst to Hanna, she takes Sky and Star's hair to hand over Doctor Alaz's head for a DNA test. After seeing his resemblance to Sky and Star, and hearing Sky's confession, he became increasingly convinced that the twins were his children and that the girl he was with seven years ago was Hanna.

"I need to know the results as quickly as possible to prove that they are indeed my children."
