"What's happening now is beyond estimation. Can you give me a moment to rest?"
the Adara Mikhayla Siregar
•••
Before the car that Lukman drove into the compound's courtyard, I had already asked him to drop me off in front of the security guard post. I do not want him to launch the action that had not been realized. Can runyam and fail miserably my plan to immediately be free from the marriage trap that Arda created. What is happening now is beyond belief.
"I need to talk to your husband, Adara. Shut up and don't talk much." I crossed my hands right in front of my chest. Lukman can be so authoritarian. I won't let him do anything.
"Don't be crazy, man. This is the only way I can escape this ridiculous marriage."
Lukman glanced at me and said, "Ending a lie is not a good thing. I'm afraid you'll regret it later. He's a good man, I'm sure of it. Try to open your heart to accept her as a husband."
For the first time he was able to say at length, but it made me sick of not being stupefied. What he threw out had no benefit at all. Just a waste of energy.
"Gue won't be comfortable. Inglet is good in your brain. Get me down here or I'll jump right now." I threatened him with great concern. But honestly, it was just a bluff.
"Try it if you can" he said with a slanted smile. Shit! Lukman is indeed very deft and clever, he has managed to lock all the car doors automatically. I could only snort and utter words of mockery because Lukman was so annoying.
The speed of the car is slowing down because it is only staying through one house we will arrive in front of the gate of the house that I and Arda occupy. "If you want to tell the real Arda, I will unload our actual status as Nyokap lo. Let you know what it's like to live under pressure." I said with a loud voice. I hope this time it works and makes Lukman change his mind.
"Down!" Instead of saying my words, he commands me. For the first time I really did not like Lukman's behavior so different and unexpected.
The car door was wide open but I was still reluctant to let go of the seat belt snare that encircled my body. Let Lukman meet Arda alone.
"Let's get down, Adara." I did not respond and instead deliberately threw my face in the opposite direction. I won't budge.
I heard a heavy breath coming out from between his lips. "Yes you've come down and I'm going home now" she said, which made me shift my focus to look up to her.
"Seriously?" I don't want to take any chances if it turns out that he just bullied me.
Lukman nodded briefly and I wasted no time getting out of the car.
"Udah sono came home. Why are you still standing here anyway?" I said, suspicious of Lukman's stunt, who looked so reluctant to step back towards the wheel of his car.
"Yes, Adara," he said. He never played with what he said. Thankfully, his words were trustworthy.
"Where are you going in such a hurry? Don't you want to stop by first?" I turned my body towards the back, there was Arda there who was standing leaning on the iron fence that he had opened half of it. Since when are people here?
Hearing the throbbing sound of approaching footsteps, suddenly made my head reflexively turn towards him. Lukman seemed to be walking closer to me. I gave him a murderous look, but he was not at all daunted and instead moved more and more quickly. My head was suddenly dizzy, faced with a position like now very far beyond expectations. My mixed feelings are hard to translate.
"Lukman" he said with a hand he deliberately thrust into Arda's presence. The man's smile rose as Arda welcomed his handshake.
"Arda," replied Arda. The net was so looking at Lukman's appearance from top to bottom, even occasionally I caught him wet who was caught looking at me.
"Lake in." That one word slid free from the sidelines of Arda's lips. I don't know if it's an offer or a solicitation.
"There's something I want to talk about. Is it ready?" lukman asked politely, even the man added the frills of 'Mas'. It really makes my heart beat. What's gonna happen?
"Please come in" said Arda invited Lukman to immediately enter and sit on the sofa in the living room. Lukman, without burden, nodded and uttered a word of thanks.
"I'll have a drink for a while" said Arda, who shot straight into the kitchen.
I will not waste this short time expelling Lukman. Anyway I have to succeed and keep Lukman quiet about the lies I've created.
"Go home now!" Lukman was silent even as if he didn't consider me to be.
"Please, Man, this time you'll follow me." For the first time I begged someone else and that man was Lukman, my male friend whom I had known for many years.
He lifted his head, looking at me who was sitting opposite to him. "This matter has gone too far, Adara. You've gone too far" he said with a sharp eye.
"It's my life, Lukman!" my mouth is not to blame. The two netraku stared at him fiercely.
"It's not the circumstances that make you like this, but yourself who has started it in a way that is not good." I shook my head firmly not accepting what Lukman had just said. Here I am the victim and I don't want to be in the situation I am in. Just enough to get here.
"Lo doesn't know anything about my life and myself. Go now and our deal is done" I said, handing him his unlimited gold card. If he does not want to be invited to cooperate, it is better to step back and leave. There are still a lot of men out there who want to pay for my life.
"Sorry to wait a long time." I looked at the source of the voice. Arda was standing there with a tray of three glasses of warm tea. Why would he come now anyway?
"No papa," said Lukman casually.
Arda painstakingly placed his homemade drink on the table. It was perfect for her to be a domestic assistant. Yes, it should be like that storyline, not even like now which is very far from expected.
"I came here to me-"
I interrupted Lukman with the bars. "It was confirmed that Lukman was the biological father of the child I was carrying. And to ngingetin lo if your status is just a temporary husband. Understand?!"
I could see the Lukman's netra so brightly lit. Glanced at Arda who was displaying a face of disbelief. I could see his neck veins were so clearly imprinted there. Both of his hands gripped the edge of the sofa so firmly. I was horrified myself to see Arda who showed such a face.
"Go before I was rude to you. And Adara's in the room now!" I shuddered in fear at the sound of a resolute voice full of his intimidation. But my legs can't lie that I'm so reluctant to leave them alone.
"Everything can be well discussed. It's already sa--"
"I said go now!" Arda got up from his seat. His index finger pointed at the door that was still open with great width.
"I can explain everything" said Lukman, who also stood straight facing each other. I can only shut up and watch.
Arda's right hand floating in the air was ready to float a raw bogeman in Lukman's face. I closed my eyes so as not to see the jotos fighting between them. Long enough I waited until at last both of my netra opened and saw Arda who was already firmly gripping the collar of Lukman's shirt neck. "Go now!" He threw Lukman into the ditch and fell on the couch.
Lukman immediately stood up from his pitiful position, pulling one of my hands in a sassy manner as he said, "I need to talk to your wife!"
Arda didn't say he left us both. My head felt like it was going to break considering the scene per scene that had just been milling around before my eyes. Why did this matter become as runyam as it is now?
