Suddenly I trembled at the bad news Linda said on the phone. What the hell is going on?
Everyone looked at me, again I was the center of their attention. But this time it was not because of my clothes and makeup as a bride. But it was my expression of shock that made the minds of everyone who was there wonder.
"What bad news is Lin? Did something happen?"
"Yes Ma'am. Brother was in an accident and now his condition is very critical," I heard the sobbing sound of Linda saying how the condition of the Angga bang.
I was quite surprised by the news, but for now it is not the right time to visit Rama's father. Linda who did not know that this morning I will have my wedding for the second time, of course with a different man.
I heard Linda crying out, as if she needed my presence to calm her down.
"I'm sorry Lin, but for now, I haven't been able to see her, yet" I said to the point.
"As soon as you get here, Linda really needs you. Who knows with the presence of Madam Dira, Brother soon realized."
"God willing. I'm sorry, I'm in a crowded place again, I'll close the phone first. Assalamualaikum."
Hearing the bad news that befell my ex-husband, made my heart quite sliced. My first love was lying unconscious in the hospital. While me? I got married so soon.
The taste is still there, but that doesn't mean I want to accept the Angga bang back after what he did to me.
Merely, my heart felt quite filled to hear this unexpected news.
"R. Let's sit down again!" Mama led me back to sit with Devan and take the phone out of my hand.
Mr. Penghulu again shook hands with Devan, after our event was delayed due to a phone call.
"Are you ready, brother Devan?"
Devan nodded firmly and was so sure.
Pak Penghulu began to chant the phrase kabul ijab which was then recited by Devan who only a matter of seconds would be legal to be my husband.
"Well....!!"
The boisterous voice of many who said it was legitimate on the testimony of our marriage contract.
What am I supposed to say? A slightly forced position to return to the status of a wife, makes me confused to have a sad or happy expression.
The decision to marry Devan was only because I appreciated Mama's request. But that doesn't mean I want to play with someone's feelings. I believe enough that love can come and be present because it is used to it, it is only a matter of time to prove the term. And it doesn't rule out that one day I will love Devan completely.
Tiring enough for today's event, I rushed to clean up before taking over the baby Dara that I had left with bi Jum since this morning.
"Bandah! Don't use cold water, it's too bad, not good for health," I said to Devan who is currently legal status as a husband, after drying my hair using a hair dryer.
Devan saw me just smiling and nodding, then grabbed the towel and went into the bathroom. While I was ready with my nightgown, immediately took over baby Dara.
"Thank you bi, help take care of Baby Dara" I said.
"Sama-sama non, it has become the duty of aunty."
"Yes already, bi Jum is now taking a shower. Oh yeah bi, don't use cold water!"
"Every non," he replied respectfully and I just shook my head at the behavior of bi Jum which I already considered family.
Tonight Rama asked his grandmother to accompany him to sleep. And that means, in my room there's just me, baby Dara and Devan.
It's awkward to have to share a bed with someone I used to always consider a close friend, even I've considered Devan like my own brother.
When I went back into the room with baby Dara, I saw Devan was also prepared with his casual clothes, which is currently leaning on the headboard.
Like not Devan, I was quite pangling and surprised by Devan's appearance which was completely different from what I'd ever seen.
I laid baby Dara in her crib, then leaned back as Devan did next to her.
"Did something happen to your ex-husband?"
"He'em, he said the accident and his condition was critical."
"You want to look?"
I turned towards the man beside me until the current position we were facing each other.
"I'll let you see, find baby Dara and Rama with his father. Who knows if it's better."
I felt that his words were too good to hear. Devan understands very well what to do with his current position.
"But let me come too. I don't want my beautiful wife to turn away. You know Ra, how long I've been waiting for this moment, this status, and now I've got. How could I have wasted it," continued Devan again which was enough to make me feel guilty.
