Legend of the Crying Stone

In ancient times, on a small hill far from the settlement, in West Kalimantan lived a very poor widow with her daughter.


Her daughter is very beautiful, her body shape is very beautiful, her hair is unraveling curling up to her ankles. Her hair bangs were neatly combed and her forehead was as smooth as sandalwood stone. Unfortunately, he has a bad nature.


The girl was very lazy, never helped her mother do the housework. It just preen every day.


Besides being lazy, the girl was spoiled. All requests must be obeyed. Every time he asked his mother for something to be granted, regardless of the poor condition of his mother, every day had to slam the bones looking for a mouthful of rice


One day the girl was invited by her mother to go down to the village to shop. The location of the village market is very far away, so they have to walk quite tiring. The girl walked down the street wearing nice clothes and preening so that people on the street who saw her would admire her beauty. While his mother walked behind while carrying a basket with very dirty clothes. Because they lived in a remote place, no one knew that the two women walking were mother and son.


When they started to enter the village, the villagers looked at them. They were so fascinated to see the beauty of the girl, especially the villagers who were not satisfied to look at the girl's face. But when he saw the man walking behind the girl, it was a complete contrast. It makes people wonder.


Among the people who saw it, a young man approached and asked the girl, “Hai, the beautiful girl. Is that walking behind your mom?”


But what was the girl's answer ?


“Not,” said arrogantly. “He is my helper !”


“Hai, sweet. Is that walking behind you your mother?” “Not, no,” replied the girl by raising her head. ” It is a slave!”


That's how every girl meets someone along the way who asks about her mother, always the answer is that. His mother was treated as his servant or slave.


At first hearing his daughter's ungodly answer if asked, the mother could still restrain herself. But after repeatedly hearing the same answer and a very hurtful, finally the poor mother could not help herself. The mother prayed.


“Yes Lord, I can't resist this insult. The son of the servant so steadfastly treated himself in such a way. Yes, god punish this ungodly child ! Punish him..”.


At the power of the Supreme Lord, slowly the body of the disobedient girl was turned to stone. Change starts with the feet. When the change had reached half the body, the girl cried for forgiveness to her mother.


” Oh, Mother.mom.pardon me, forgive the iniquity of your son all this time. Mother...Pardon your child.” The girl continued to wail and cry begging her mother. But everything is too late. The girl's entire body finally turned to stone. Even if it becomes a stone, but one can see that both eyes are still shedding tears, like crying. Therefore, the stone that comes from the girl who got her mother's curse is called ” Crying Stone


pesam: Whoever disobeys his biological mother who has given birth to him and raised him, surely his curse will be punished by Almighty God.
