Folklore Legend of Roro Jongrang

Once upon a time there was a great kingdom called Prambanan. His people live in peace and peace. But, what happened then? The Prambanan kingdom was invaded and colonized by the state of Pengging. The peace of the Prambanan Kingdom became disturbed. The soldiers were unable to deal with Pengging's attack. Finally, the kingdom of Prambanan was controlled by Pengging, and led by Bandung Bondowoso.

Bandung Bondowoso is a man who likes to rule viciously. “Anyone who does not obey my orders, will be punished severely!”, Bandung Bondowoso told his people. Bandung Bondowoso is a powerful man and has a team of jinn. Not long in power, Bandung Bondowoso likes to observe the movements of Loro Jonggrang, the beautiful daughter of King Prambanan. “Beauty nian the princess. I want her to be my consort,” thought Bandung Bondowoso.

The next day, Bondowoso approached Roro Jonggrang. “You are so beautiful, will you be my consort ?”, Bandung Bondowoso asked Roro Jonggrang. Roro Jonggrang gasped, hearing Bondowoso's question. “This man is very presumptuous, has not known me immediately want me to be his consort”, said Loro Jongrang in his heart. “What should I do ?”. Roro Jonggrang was confused. Thought circling. If he refuses, then Bandung Bondowoso will be furious and endanger his family and the people of Prambanan. To say it is not possible, because Loro Jonggrang does not like Bandung Bondowoso.

“How, Roro Jonggrang ?” bondowoso. Roro Jonggrang got the idea. “I am willing to be the wife of Master, but there are conditions,” She said. “What are the conditions? Want abundant treasure? Or a magnificent Palace?”. “Not that, my lord, said Roro Jonggrang. I asked to make the temple, the number must be a thousand pieces. “Thousand pieces?” shout Bondowoso. “Ya, and the temple was to be finished overnight.” Bandung Bondowoso looked at Roro Jonggrang, his lips trembling with anger. Since then Bandung Bondowoso thought how to make 1000 temples. Finally he asked his advisor. “I believe my master can make the temple with the help of Jin!”, said the advisor. “Yes, true also your proposal, prepare the equipment I need!”

After the equipment is ready. Bandung Bondowoso stood in front of the stone altar. Both of his arms were spread wide. “Jin squad, Help me!” he shouted with a thunderous voice. Soon, the sky became dark. Wind roaring. A moment later, the genie army had swarmed Bandung Bondowoso. “What should we do Mr ?”, ask the leader of the genie. “Help me build a thousand temples,” pinta Bandung Bondowoso. The genies immediately moved to and fro, carrying out their respective duties. In a short time the temple building has been composed of almost a thousand pieces.

The genie army thought the dawn was coming. “Wah, the sun will rise!” exclaim jin. “We must leave immediately before our bodies are sunburned,” another genie continued. The jinn went out of that place. Bandung Bondowoso was surprised to see the panic of the jinn army.

The next morning, Bandung Bondowoso took Roro Jonggrang to the temple. “The password you requested is already standing!”. Roro Jonggrang immediately counted the number of temples. It turned out to be only 999 pieces!. “Number is less one!” loro Jonggrang. “Means master has failed to meet the conditions I applied”. Bandung Bondowoso was surprised to learn of the shortcomings. He became very angry. “No way...”, said Bondowoso as he stared intently at Roro Jonggrang. “Then you alone complete it!” he said while pointing his finger at Roro Jonggrang. It's magical! Roro Jonggrang instantly turned into a stone statue. Until now these temples still exist and are located in the Prambanan region, Central Java and called Roro Jonggrang Temple
