Xian arrived at the Han Sang Silat Center with a heart full of enthusiasm. In the setting sun that emitted an orange glow, traditional wooden buildings with red tiled roofs lined up in front of them. The rustling sound of waterfalls in the distance gives the impression of calm in this environment.
He entered the Silat Center with cautious steps, feeling watched by a number of attentive eyes. This center was the gathering place of the best cultivators, and Xian's foreign presence immediately attracted attention.
As he explored the location, he saw a disciple standing under a rushing waterfall. This waterfall seemed to be the preferred training location by many cultivators here. His body was hit by a splash of water and his face was full of vigor. The disciple made a smooth and beautiful silat movement in the middle of a strong stream of water.
Xian approached the disciple with great curiosity. "Hey, friend," Xian said kindly, trying to distract the disciple from his training. "What are you doing here?"
The disciple stopped his movements for a moment and smiled. His face was soaked with water splashing. "I am training here to improve my physical strength and balance, Master. This waterfall presents a great challenge."
Xian was intrigued by this disciple's determination and asked further, "Do you have a silat master here?"
The student nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, Master Shen is my teacher. He was a master in the unique style of water silat."
Xian smiled. "Thank you for the explanation. I was a nomad who wanted to learn different styles of silat from different regions. Can you take me to Teacher Shen? I want to ask her permission to learn from him."
The disciple agreed and escorted Xian to Master Shen's house which was at a higher place. This house also has a beautiful view to the waterfall that became the training ground of his students.
After walking for a while, Xian and the disciple who helped him arrived at the location of the waterfall where Master Shen and his disciples were training. The rushing waterfall created a rustle that filled the air, creating a calm atmosphere despite being full of energy.
Xian saw a number of disciples diligently training around the waterfall. They jumped on the big rocks in the water flow, doing smooth and beautiful silat movements. Some of them even looked like they were dancing on the water, as if they were mastering the flow of water themselves.
The disciple accompanying Xian said, "It was a basic exercise in our silat style of water, Master. We have to maintain our balance above the rushing water flow as a form of physical and mental exercise."
Xian was impressed by the beauty of their movements and their ability to master their surroundings. He looked at one disciple who was standing in the middle of the waterfall while executing a series of complicated movements. The waterfall drenched his body, but he seemed to be completely focused on his training.
Master Shen himself was also in the midst of his students, giving directions and corrections in a friendly manner. He looked like a thoughtful figure, with long gray hair fluttering by gusts of wind. His facial expression was attentive, and he looked very calm.
Xian felt inspired by the dedication and passion of the disciples and Master Shen. He realized that this was the right place to develop himself as a cultivator. Although he had seen many things on his journey, he knew that he still had a lot to learn.
Xian continued to pay attention to the training of the disciples and Master Shen under the rushing waterfall. He felt increasingly interested in understanding this unique style of water silat. After some time, the disciple who was accompanying him realized that Xian was contemplating.
He approached Xian with a friendly smile. "How, Teacher? Did you get an idea of what we're doing here?"
Xian nodded. "Yes, I was very impressed with the training and earnestness of all of you. This is truly a unique silat style. I want to learn more about him."
The student smiled widely. "That can definitely be arranged, Master. Teacher Shen was always open to accepting new students who were eager to learn."
The two of them observed Master Shen giving directions to one of his students on how to refine a certain move. Master Shen looked very calm and understanding. Sometimes, he would show movements gently and speak in a gentle tone to provide guidance.
Xian began to wonder about the philosophy underlying this style of silat air. He thought that there was more to learn than physical movement. "Does this style of silat also have profound philosophical aspects, as taught by Master Shen?"
The student nodded. "Of course, Teacher. One of the principles that we hold firmly is to maintain balance in everything, both in the body, mind, and environment. We believe that by maintaining this balance, we can attain true wisdom."
Xian listened carefully. He felt that this philosophy conformed to the teachings of Guyon which he had learned before. "This is a very wise principle" Xian said. "I'd love to learn more about him."
The student smiled. "I'm sure Master Shen would be happy to hear that. He often said that silat is not only about physical strength, but also about wisdom and peace in the heart."
Xian nodded in appreciation. He felt increasingly confident that he had found the right place to develop himself as a cultivator. He thanked the disciple who had helped him and hoped to learn directly from Master Shen immediately.
After a conversation with the disciple who helped him, Xian felt increasingly convinced that he wanted to learn from Master Shen. He thanked the disciple and decided to look for Master Shen to ask permission in person.
Xian stepped away from the waterfall and searched for Master Shen's whereabouts. He saw some disciples gathered in a place, and he assumed that Master Shen might be there. With careful steps, he approached the group.
Turns out, he was right. In the middle of the group of disciples, there was a man who looked wise. His long, gray hair was fluttering by the wind, and his attentive eyes were watching the every movement of his students. He also looked very calm, although the situation around him was quite chaotic with the sound of rushing waterfalls.
