Learning to Be a Mother

Learning to Be a Mother
12. Friendliest.

If you remember, I have not shopped to the market for a long time. More precisely the traveling vegetable maker, lately the cooking ingredients in the kitchen are available complete, but over time left the end so I intend to buy it this afternoon.

Usually, the traveling greengrocer I used to call Mr. Andi always stopped in front of my alley at this hour. With a linen suit with a woman's purse, I locked my door and walked to the sidewalk.

This Thursday the weather was bright but did not remove the fresh air from the flowers planted on the residential sidewalk, the atmosphere was calm with a little roar of vehicles driving in the asphalt area. Occasionally there were cries of children from the house I passed, some were drying clothes, accompanying their little children who played outside, also relaxing on the porch of the house.

Before long, it was seen a group of mothers who were choosing food while chatting familiarly. The number is not so much but able to enliven the situation, I know some of them.

"Eh, Barrel. I rarely see you out of the house!" said someone saw me coming, he returned my smile as well. "After a problem?"

"No, kok. Yesterday evening I had to buy a lot of vegetables, so there was stock at home" I replied accompanying them.

Then, the one who heard came along"oh." ria.

"Eh, Mommy. Still want the same image?"

"Oh, Ms Citra's down the aisle?"

My neighbor with a face full of make up was also a mangosteen. "Yes, she was divorced from her husband. Pregnant again, a lot of cassian."

"Ih, why?"

I didn't join the conversation. I'm not comfortable with starting to gossip people, let alone extend them into comparisons. As if I had no other topic to enjoy the suffering of others with their ears, I hated it.

"Curped, Mom! I've been so cheating on her husband is still a high school boy, he said he followed the signs of pregnancy is also the girl."

One of us spontaneously shrugged, goosebumps. "Amit-amit, huh. The children of today."

"Truly, I am sure that ABG's child knows that Citra's husband has a wife who is pregnant. It's the end of the era so this is it, Bun ...," he said while paying his groceries to Mr. Andi.

"Yes, really. Children today are also mostly playing HP, asked for help just like being told to work. Confused by me."

Who provoked the topic was called Ms. Romlah, a neighbor whose house is next to me and is indeed a typical person who easily talks about something. Whether what he talks about is just a form of conjecture or facts that should not be allowed to expand, Ms. Romlah including people whose mouths are spicy.

While listening, I choose the ingredients that will run out at home. Some tomatoes, red pepper, garlic and onions, as well as the eggs I put in plastic. I intend to cook soy sauce tonight.

"Laras, this morning I heard something noisy from your house. Is it really okay?" This one is also usually indeed often questioned the same Miss Romlah, as if intentionally before I leave here.

"It's okay, Mom. Earlier this morning Fathan Sama Kalista departed more flat."

"Of .. yes-yes." He's nodding. "You were pregnant yesterday, huh? Now how's it going? Haven't seen you in a long time, huh. So I forgot."

Some of the people beside me were not paying attention, they were acting busy choosing the food and vegetables to be purchased as if they felt bad. I'm sure they're also not comfortable hearing Ms. Romlah ask this.

"Yes, I miscarried."

"Oh, sorry I don't know, Laras. Patient, yes."

My head nodded, smilingly confirming what Miss Romlah said. Inevitably I have to give up, but that does not mean I will flow obediently in every word, yes. I just don't want to deal much with Miss Romlah.

After paying for what I bought earlier, I decided to go home with the groceries I took. To be honest, I was sad to remember Nathan who I couldn't hug, given the big family's many hopes of being able to hold their new family members.

I was less well treated by my husband's family. Although people do not escape mistakes and I am a mother who has many shortcomings, but they really only see the side of what I cannot do. They don't understand what happened to me from before.

I exhaled, opening the door of the house that was empty inside. Soon my children come home, I have to tidy things up and prepare the laundry for tomorrow.

Just going to sit on the sofa, there was a sound of shaking objects that became the barrier between the houses here. My fence is under pressure as if someone is coming to see you, the collision in the blind afternoon is there to visit. Who, huh?

I approached the source of the voice, then received the existence of a girl with pretty tied hair waving, she smiled in greeting as I got closer. Beautiful, but I was a little foreign to her presence. Looks like he's my new neighbor.

"I'm sorry to interrupt this clock, Mom. I'm Karina, just moved in here today. Want to chat for a while," he said politely with a smile that expands so that his eyes look narrow.

My head shook. "No, Karina didn't bother Mom. I Laras, hopefully comfortable with the environment, yes. I think you're the same age as Mom's son."

"What age is your child?"

"Seventeen years old, twin but not identical" I replied kindly.

"Oh, two years apart means, Mother. I'm nineteen."

I was surprised to hear that. "Well, but it looks still ABG, yes," I said teasing him a little, meant to melt the atmosphere even though over time the sun managed to make me angry.

Karina gave a small laugh, then presented a place to eat with a clear color that made me realize there were some fried banana pieces there. It seemed to be still warm, the hot vapors were imprinting on each side.

"Here, Karina was cooking at home for Karina's new neighbors."

I accept it with pleasure. "Eh thank you, Karina. Want to play to the dalem first, right?"

His head immediately shook quickly. "No, Mother. This is still something Karina needs to love, next time definitely play here. Thanks, yeah."

Her hands were waving despite only moving to one house, her attitude was so friendly as if I was her mother who was greeted until Karina's jump when she left for school. I am happy with his presence here, if my children are as friendly as he seems.
