JIWO PROMISE

JIWO PROMISE
The Hospital

Witri furrowed her brows as the chatter with Hari suddenly broke off. The phone is still in call mode.

What's the phone Day battery out? Her husband usually runs out of batteries.

Witri chose to sit on a bench near the entrance to wait for Hari to come pick her up. His heart suddenly fidgeted with a phone call that suddenly died.

The promised ten minutes to arrive at his place were five minutes. And this is also not the custom of her husband who is out of his promise.

Witri's heart was getting restless.

Tried again to contact Hari, but not connected. Witri was a little calm. Most likely it is a battery-out Day phone.

But even if his phone ran out of battery, Hari still arrived at his office. But why hasn't this arrived yet?

"Mr Witri...!" the call of Bang Johan, his office security guard who slightly shouted while running towards him made Witri jump on his seat.

"Ke...why Bang?" tanya Witri panicked to see the face of Bang Johan.

His mind was not in vain.

"I.this..It's Day, isn't it?" bang Johan asked while showing the photo on his phone.

Coincidentally, Hari is familiar with all security guards in Witri's office because they often take the time to just say hello when picking up Witri.

Witri stared at the photo of a man lying on a stretcher.

"Astagfirullahaladzim." muttered Witri with a trembling body and immediately sat with eyes that could not be separated from the phone screen.

It was her husband's face. Even the obvious badge is her husband's name.

"Let me drive to the hospital, Ma'am." invite Bang Johan in a soft voice so that Witri does not panic.

"Su.my husband to.why, Bang?" witri asked still with a trembling body.

"Attacked by a car whose brakes were blong, Ma'am." Bang Johan replied softly with an alert attitude, worried that Witri fainted.

""Astagfirullahaladzim, Mas.." - Witri again sat down. His world seemed to be shaken irregularly.

"What's up, Han?" a worried voice emerged from the office door. Mr. Zulkarnain appeared with a puzzled look at the crying and trembling Witri.

"Suami Mbak Witri just had an accident, sir. I just told Mbak Witri." replied Bang Johan slowly.

"Astagfirullahaladzim's chat...Which hospital were you taken to? You know what, Han?" asked Mr. Zulkarnain immediately looked tense.

"Know, Sir. RSUD, sir." Bang Johan replied quickly.

"Yes already. Come on Wit, I'll take you to the hospital right now." take Mr. Zulkarnain with a little shrug Witri to stand up.

Witri can no longer think. He only complied when Mr. Zulkarnain guided him to his car which then drove at the maximum speed that could be done on a fairly solid road because it was still in the hours of returning to work.

Still can not think when the car has stopped in the hospital parking area then Mr. Zulkarnain took him to the receptionist to ask the position where Hari was treated.

"Hari Prasetyo." replied Witri when the nurse asked him what the name of the patient he was looking for.

"An accident victim, huh, Mom?" the nurse asked kindly after glancing at the computer screen in front of her.

"Yes, Sus." replied Witri again wanted to cry.

"Still on the IGD, Mom." replied the nurse with a sympathetic smile to Witri who rushed towards the IGD after saying her thanks.

"Pak Zul can go home if you have other needs, sir. Thank you so much for bringing me here" Witri said after realizing that her boss beside her was walking.

She recalled Mr. Zul's chat in the office with his other friends about to deliver his baby immunization this afternoon.

"Yes. I will immediately say goodbye if I know the condition of your husband" said Mr. Zul with a smile.

Witri's heart that has been hammered irregularly since then increasingly feels tighter detaknya once entering the IGD ward. Her eyes swept across the IGD room to find out where her husband was in one of the beds lined up quite a lot.

He saw Mr. Zul approaching the administration desk and talked for a while before coming back to him who was even fixated on seeing a child who was shocked by a doctor's heart. Next to the boy's head was a woman with a deathly pale face crying silently but tears were rushing down her cheeks.

It was very clear that there was fear and also greed on the woman's face.

"Your husband is on the other end, Wit" said Mr. Zul, startling Witri and immediately distracting her from the sad event in front of her.

Followed by the steps of Mr. Zul with a step that felt very heavy but floating.

Witri was only able to stand glued when Mr. Zul revealed a little curtain between one bed and another bed.

She saw her husband seemed to be closed without visible wounds on his body which was still wrapped in his uniform.

There was only a breathing apparatus that was seen clinging to Hari's body.

Next to Hari appears a man whom Witri recognizes as the new commander of Hari.

"Not yet roaring" said Mr. Nadi, the commander of the day when he saw Witri slowly approaching with tears immediately pouring out.

"I happen to pass by on location, so I can accompany Hari first. Who told you Witri?" Witri could hear Mr. Nadi's voice but he did not want to answer the question that suddenly did not understand it.

His attention immediately poured full onto the body of Day who looked calm lying down. Even her husband looked very calm with a smile in his heart. As in normal sleep.

He's still alive, isn't he? He just fainted, right? only the question in his mind was now heard filling his eardrum.

"So was told by the security guard through the news in his group. Witri used to wait to get her husband home from work." there was a voice of Mr. Zul responding to Mr. Nadi.

"What happened?" the voice of Mr. Zul.

"There is a brake car blong, slam the steering directly hit the motor. Motor's throwing and getting hit by the day. His chest hit." now the voice of Mr. Nadi heard Witri.

Unknowingly, Witri's hand stroked the chest of Hari who had been wrapped in a patient's shirt.

"Surely it hurts, Mas." wirih Witri with tears getting louder.

"Doctors are preparing X-rays and CT scans. Maybe in a minute. Earlier the doctor said there might be ribs and shoulder blades or maybe a broken collarbone" said Mr. Nadi who made Witri increasingly shed tears.

"There was no outward wound that seemed to be.." there was again the voice of Mr. Zul. The Witri reflex scans Hari's right and left arms to look for scratches or bruises. There are only a few scratches on the elbow and have been treated.

Either in the legs or on the inside of his body.

Witri rushed to her feet when she saw a doctor and two male nurses approaching Hari's bed.

"Patients can we take to the X-ray now, sir" said the doctor, looking at Mr. Nadi and turning to Witri.

"The wife is a patient, Doc" Mr. Nadi explained.

"Alhamdulillah can be accompanied by family. Let's take her husband to the X-ray room" said the half-natured doctor kindly.

Witri looked confused and anxious at Pak Nadi.

"No papa. Go with the day first. I settle the administration first and then I will follow." said Mr. Nadi won. "The strong one" said Mr. Nadi then gently patted Witri's shoulder at a glance before moving to the administration.

"Witri, I'm saying, okay now?" ask Mr. Zul with a face of a rowdy.

"No papa, Dad. Thank you for accompanying me. Sorry to be troublesome." said Witri with a moved face.

"No nicotine at all." Zul Sir said quickly.

"I'll take a leave of absence for you. Three days first. How's it?" bargain Mr. Zul.

"Yes. Thank you very much sir." said Witri with a faint smile.

Mr. Zul left after accompanying Witri to take care of the admistration in the X-ray section.

Leaving Witri sitting beside the entrance. Stare fretfully at the gurney that began to be invisible to his eyes because it blocked the door that began to close.

"Don't hurt for long, Mom. I'm afraid to scold Mom if you're sick. I must have said that the wife is not a careless husband." muttered Witri very softly.

Mother. Sired.

She was confused whether to inform her in-laws now or later when Hari's condition improved.

He simply rolled his phone on his lap in confusion.

"Not finished?" Witri jumped up to hear a heavy voice beside her.

Mr. Nadi was already sitting next to him with a bit of uneasiness.

When did this guy come? How I don't know...

"No, Sir. Not long into it." replied Witri after successfully overcoming his shock.

"Have you informed your parents yet?" ask Mr. Nadi later.

"Be..yet, Pak." replied Witri worriedly.

"Why?"

"Huh?"

"Why not immediately tell? Afraid? Or again the same parents' enemies?"

"No! No, Sir. No enemy." replied Witri quickly.

"Then tell them but do not make them anxious.Begging for their prayers" said Mr. Nadi then with a calm look. Witri nodded slowly then held her phone but still looked confused.

He was confused who he wanted to call.

"Call your father first. If the call of women first must be hysterical and excited, it can even make you panic more later" said Mr. Nadi to give advice again. Witri nodded back.

With her heart pounding and fingers still trembling, Witri contacted her father-in-law.

It felt like he just wanted to turn off the call when on the second ring directly heard the voice of his father-in-law.

Witri suddenly gagu and increasingly trembling.

Several times her in-laws' calls across the phone couldn't be answered because her mouth froze like she couldn't move.

He could only stare in freezing as the phone in his hand was gently taken away by Mr. Nadi.

"Assalamualaikum, sir..."

"...."

"Yes,Pak. This is Witri's mother's phone."

"...."

"I'm Hari's commander, sir."

"..."

"We would like to inform you that Hari suffered a disaster this afternoon. He was hit by a car and is currently on X-ray to find out how severe the impact was. His wife is here, but still in shock, sir." explained Mr. Nadi while looking at Witri who seemed confused looking at him.

"Ready, Sir. Please send me a prayer for Health Day, sir. Assalamualaikum." said Mr. Nadi then played his finger on the phone for a while before returning it into the hands of Witri without making a sound.

Witri's mouth that would reopen the gap when he saw the door of the room - where Hari had been brought into it - opened wide and then appeared the gurney carrying Hari which was still closed.

You're not awake yet, Mom...

"Where is the condition?" asked Mr. Nadi to the male nurse who was carrying Hari's gurney.

"Later the results will be told the same doctor, sir. Patience first." replied the male nurse who pushed the gurney with a friendly smile.

"Ah yes." replied Mr. Nadi as he realized with his aggressive attitude.

Now Witri and Pak Nadi accompanied Hari by walking on the right and left side of the bed that was pushed unhurriedly.

"Where are we going now?" asked Pak Nadi after a while they were all silent.

"MRI, sir." replied the nurse briefly.

"OK." replied Mr. Nadi quickly.

In his heart, Witri was very grateful for the existence of Mr. Nadi accompanied him.

Through Mr. Nadi, all the questions in his head are directly represented seeking answers by Mr. Nadi.

The MRI went well, and eventually Hari was put into an ICU room.

Witri's tears recollected when she learned that Hari had been put in the ICU.

To him who is a layman, the ICU seems one of the gates to death.

*I don't want you to go, Mas...

Don't stay with me now...

I don't want*...

Witri's inner scream does not stop along with the stuffing and melting of tears that he tries to keep removing.

She was ashamed of Mr. Nadi who kept looking at her worriedly. But her tears also seemed to not want to stop to show how sad her heart was right now.

"I went to mushola first. Later I will be here alternating with your neighbors to accompany you. Don't be sad and afraid, you're not alone in going through this" Mr. Nadi said before Witri walked into the ICU room to accompany Hari.

"Thank you very much, sir. I'm sorry for being so troublesome." said Witri, bowing down as her tears returned.

"Nobody is disturbed. We're all family here. Already, comein. Pity Hari alone later." said Mr. Nadi ended their conversation.
