JIWO PROMISE

JIWO PROMISE
Traces

Rini's brother hugged Jiwo's shaken shoulders.

His beloved brother is really crying for his heartbreak.

He chose not to speak. Let Jiwo let go of his grief with a cry he had not seen since his sister grew up.

Piteously.

Rini's brother stroked Jiwo's back long enough.

"I should have found him even harder" said Jiwo after a long time he was silent from his cries.

His voice sounded full of regret and very sad.

"You've had no less-less effort to get her on, Wo. Maybe this is the reality you have to accept. Inspiration, Wo. At least you know she's getting married to an established person. Pray for him to be happy always. God willing your prayers will turn back to you. You will soon find your happiness" said Mbak Rini gently tried to strengthen again.

Jiwo did not agree with his brother's words.

How can you go so fast?

He loved Witri since he was a child.

Even until now he has never been in a relationship with another girl because of the depth of his love for Witri.

It was not that Jiwo had been silent without any effort to get closer to Witri.

The flashback

______________

On his first year off work he first looked for Witri to his old address and it turned out that he had moved.

Based on the story of the neighbor next door to Witri's old house, witri's mother is forced to sell her house because to pay a debt for her father Witri's old expenses at the hospital who eventually dies by leaving a large debt without the knowledge of his mother Witri.

Confused about having to get money from where to close everything, finally selling the house so the solution chosen.

After that, at the wishes of his uncle (uncle) who lives in Jakarta, Witri and his family chose to return to his mother's hometown in Gunungkidul while keeping old mbok (grandmother) Witri who lived alone.

Two days Jiwo must have a former neighbor on the left right of the former Witri house to know the exact address where the address of the Witri family clear.

After getting what he expected, capitalized on a village address in Playen sub-district, Gunungkidul, Jiwo solidified the steps to find the address of Witri's mother's origin.

The journey there was not easy.

Arriving the bus he was riding in Wonosari terminal, he had to find the next bus majoring in Playen sub-district. Then he had to wait again tuyul bus (small angkot) to go to the intended village area which is still about 25 kilos away.

It takes a lot of patience to wait for the tuyul bus to arrive, because there are only twice a day the trailers go home.

Jiwo had to wait almost two hours to be able to ride the tuyul bus.

Arriving at the village roadside, based on information from a farmer who he met on the roadside earlier, he apparently still had to walk about forty-five minutes to reach the intended address.

Lucky along his footsteps, Jiwo always got a walking friend, a farmer who has rice fields around there.

Replacing three friends walking experienced by Jiwo in the hot afternoon.

Jiwo heartedly asked if Wiri would feel at home in this kind of environment.

The environment is far from ease even if it is only a matter of public transport.

It was sad to have Jiwo's heart. Makes it even more steady to bring Witri to life with him as soon as possible.

In his heart he prayed that God would launch his fortune so that he could quickly fulfill his promise of service to his parents first and then marry Witri as soon as possible.

Based on the instructions from the person he met at the end of the road, after the turn in front of him he would soon arrive at the house owned by Grandma Witri.

Jiwo's heart pounded uncharacteristically imagining how shocked Witri would see his arrival later.

With the pounding increasingly timid, Jiwo increasingly quickly stepped his feet so that he could quickly get to the intended house.

His eyes looked around the house that was now standing in front of him.

The house building along the front side is a gebyok

Gebyok is a barrier or wooden wall in Javanese traditional houses that have various carving ornaments.

No one seems to be outside the house.

Lucky when he stepped on one step towards the door of the house, someone appeared from inside the house.

Jiwo's chest rippled to the face of the middle-aged woman who looked shocked by the presence of a young man in front of her door.

"Kulonuwun, Bulik." said Jiwo warmly greeting with a smile attached to his face.

"Monggos.... MasyaaAllah's...Is this really Witri?" asked his mother Witri still with a face of astonishment and after looking for a moment thought earlier.

He still remembers Jiwo's face because it did not change much from the look on his face when he was a child.

He follows Witri's mother who invites him in.

"Alhamdulillah healthy. Where do you work now? Witri used to tell stories he said his letter you never reply. He became mutung (surrender, desperate) did not want to send a letter again. Shame she said." Witri's mamak story cheerfully.

Oh, apparently her mom knows their relationship.

Jiwo looked down full of regret.

"Indeed I was wrong, Kid. I couldn't write because I was working in the forest. I once sent a letter after I could, but it was not reciprocated with Witri. I guess Witri no longer wants to communicate with me anymore" Jiwo explained.

"Where might he not. He talks about you every day from childhood. Already have a girlfriend is still more eager to talk about you than to talk about her boyfriend." sergeant mamak Witri made Jiwo's heart expand like a hot air balloon.

Oh sweetness Jawiku....

"Maybe your mailing address is still in the old house and we've moved here, Wo" Witri said later.

Jiwo nodded.

Based on the time of the Witri family's move, most likely there is no letter that menwrim karsn Witri's house is empty.

While the sender address of the letter was never written Jiwo, so the letter could not return to his address and was left as garbage at the post office.

Even though the letter if it reaches the hands of two people it will be a sweet bridge to their relationship.

Honey, fate wrote another story for their story.

"Witri where is it now, Bulik?" jiwo asked impatiently to the core of his intention to arrive at this place.

"Witri again to Jakarta. Just left four days ago. He was asked by his uncle. He said he wanted to get a job there. Previously he worked in Jogja continued to come out and choose to go home. Just a week at his client's house came and he wanted when invited to Jakarta." said Mamak Witri.

Jiwo's heart immediately deflated.

It's ruined that all his fantasies met Witri.

"Where do you work now?" asked Mamak Witri after a moment ago to tell him to go back to make a drink.

Now in front of him was a tall glass of warm tea and a small pot of water.

There are also fried sweet potatoes and tofu bacem.

"Yes, yes, Le. In the corners there are no weird snacks" said Mamak Witri while inviting Jiwo to enjoy the treat.

"Maturnuwun, Bulik. Niki mawon sampun efficient sanget. (Thank you, Auntie. This alone is enough.)." Jiwo said with a happy smile then picked up a slice of fried sweet potato. Favorite food from the past.

"The treat is fitting, Bulik. This is my favorite food." said Jiwo while smiling happily while chewing the legit fried yam.

"Alhamdulillah... Your ridicule, Wo. Usually just steamed, but just wanted to fry. It turns out there will be guests far away" said Mamak Witri with a happy smile.

Jiwo came home after finishing eating. He was asked to eat first with vegetable stir-fried kale berluk tempe mendoan.

It was sober, but Jiwo was very happy to enjoy it because it felt like representing Witri enjoying the delicious cuisine of her mama because what she ate was her favorite menu Witri.

Ah, the universe seemed to swing it in momentary pleasure.

Before going home he did not forget to leave an address that can be contacted by Witri if one day the girl comes home and wants to send news to him.

Jiwo is looking forward to having a letter from Witri.

Flashback off

______________

But never a single letter came from Witri.

Therefore Jiwo then thought if maybe Witri no longer wanted to communicate with him.

Jiwo was heartbroken at the time.

Decided to try to start forgetting his expectations on Witri. But I can't.

I really can't.

To this day.

And I don't know when.

Even the news of Witri's wedding plans felt like a dream to her.

So how could he possibly be so easy to recap the reality that to him was still a dream?

It was a nightmare that hurt him.
