This was the most meaningful and thrilling journey for Jibril and Eliza, although both had traveled a short distance. But the journey now is meaningful.
Now they were thousands of feet up there, flying through the sky like the feeling of both.
"I have a gift for you" said Jibril, taking something out of his bag.
"Oh, so sweet. Must be a cok-" Eliza's speech stopped when the one released by Jibril was apparently a shall, a shall, though Eliza thought the gift that will be given by the man is chocolate as a gift given by men in general.
"Shall?" ask Eliza.
"Yes, I bought this on the way to the airport, you wear it, yes!" pinta Gabriel.
"But I am no longer cold" Eliza replied innocently which made Jibril immediately chuckle.
"Not to cover your neck, El. But to cover his head," said Jibril and soon Eliza's memory again reflected on Aira, Shalwa and some Muslim women he met. "It can wear it, right?" ask Jibril. Eliza nodded while taking the Shall. He covered his head but unfortunately it did not cover all his hair.
"I think your hair should be tied up first, El. Because if people wear hijabs, all their hair should not be visible" Jibril told the newspaper.
Eliza, who heard Jibril's advice, followed him immediately, tying her hair neatly. After that Eliza again covered her head and made sure her hair was not visible. "Well, the second rule in wearing a veil is to cover up to his chest" said Jibril again. He also led Eliza to use the Shall as a hijab that covered her head and chest perfectly.
"Have you? What like?" eliza and Jibril asked immediately gave her two thumbs up with a smile.
"You knew? The woman is one of the most beautiful creatures created by God, which is why women must always take care of themselves and make sure that beauty should only be served to the rightful," jibril said and at once Eliza remembered what Aira had said about why she had covered her face.
As Eliza's eyes sparkled brightly, she looked at Jibril and asked, "Do I have to cover my face like Aira because I'm beautiful and you're jealous?" Gabriel was slightly flabbergasted at Eliza's question in one breath. However, when he recalled Eliza once asking the same question, Jibril immediately gave a faint smile and nodded.
"What if I don't want to? Hot dong, especially in Indonesia again dry season," said Eliza lightly which again makes Jibril chuckle.
"Later I buy clothes that are good and cool, so you will not overheat" said Jibril.
"But it seems complicated, it's Aira's big, long, purified clothes are just as electrifying as it must be difficult, too" Eliza said again.
"Please, I'll pay people to wash and iron. You stay put," replied Jibril who made Eliza grimace.
"Why do you want to urge me? Are you jealous if someone else sees my beauty?" seductive Eliza, she had suspected Jibril would dodge and pretend not to be jealous. Usually what people do is like that. However, Eliza forgot that Jibril could not pretend so the man nodded firmly. Eliza is now just grimacing.
"You try first a day, if a day can, try two days, and so on. I'm sure you'll get used to it later" Jibril assured.
"Why don't you just accept me for what I am? That's how it is" murmured Eliza.
"I accept you the way you are, Eliza. In addition, I also love you very much and care, which is why I want to help you become the best person, and as a Muslimah, closing the letter is obligatory."
"Hem but there are also many who do not use it" said Eliza.
"If they were driving without their seat belts on, would you do the same?" asked Jibril who was immediately answered by Eliza. "Why?" ask Jibril.
"But there are many who do not wear it" replied Jibril.
"It's because they're light, but the danger is you know" Eliza said in a serious manner.
"Just like that, Eliza. I'm sure you know what's best for you, hm?"
Eliza was silent for a moment, trying to digest the words of Jibril who was trying to teach her. As Eliza smiled, she looked at Jibril and said, "Thank you for telling me, I'm ashamed to ask so I don't know."
Gabriel could understand Eliza's position and the reason she was embarrassed or perhaps hesitant to ask others, let alone Eliza's environment stemming from her different beliefs.
"People say shamefully ask astray in the street," said Gabriel.
Eliza took out a mirror from her bag, she looked at her own face which inexplicably made her look even more beautiful after wearing the hijab.
"I'm really pretty as it turns out," muttered Eliza who again made Jibril chuckle.
"No one will doubt that" he said, in other words, Jibril recognized Eliza's beauty so much that he made her blush.
"Eh, wait!" exclaim Eliza later. "I haven't said yes to your proposal, Mr. ice cubes!"
"But we're already on our way to the blessing of our family, Elizabeth. I think that's more than enough of your 'yes."
*********
Both Eliza's parents and Jibril's parents were waiting for their children at the airport as the flight from London arrived at midnight.
For the first time, Jibril and Eliza's parents met in person and they had a little chat and they already knew what their children wanted. At first they had a little awkward, but for a long time they melt each other and want to tell about their children. Eliza's mom also told me about Eliza's decision to change beliefs a few months ago, it created a tremendous excitement, debate was inevitable. However, they must soon realize that belief is as real as love.
Jibril's parents, who heard the story, are also happy, especially now that Eliza's family accepts Eliza's different beliefs, until finally they see the arrival of their children.
Both Eliza's parents were a little surprised to see Eliza who was now hijab even though the woman was still wearing jeans, t-shirts that were combined with jeans as well.
Not only Eliza's parents, Jibril's parents were surprised to see a little difference shown by Eliza.
When Eliza met her parents, she immediately rushed into the arms of her mother and father.
Eliza greeted Jibril's parents politely, and Jibril did the same to Eliza's parents.
"Do you want to stay at my house? My house is closer than here" said Mrs Jill.
"No, Ma'am. Thank you" said Ummi Firda. "We'll go home to our house, and tomorrow we can set up a meeting again to talk about our next move."
