The barrel enters the existing telephone booth
at a gas station. About three hours from Philadelphia. Ben was refueling his car a few feet away from him. Pressing the number button she was on belonged to Catherine.
He just remembered his best friend must be confused to look for him because almost every day in college hours they always meet. It has been almost three days Laras was taken away by Ben with the idea of a sudden road trip of the man, surely Catherine was worried about him.
Ringing phone connected sign greeted hello hello from across.
"Cathy, it's me, Baras."
Catherine's screeching made Laras' ears buzz. Then he looked at the girl with a lot of questions.
"Calm Cath, I'm fine. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, all this because ...." Laras tells about Ben's impromptu road trip and Ben's lets get lost idea that makes him turn off his phone, and also Ben's phone of course.
Catherine screeched back. But this time it seems to be because of excitement. "Thank God, Laras, I'm almost going to report to the police that you're missing" he said in a voice that sounded relieved.
Laras chuckles. "I'm sorry, Cathy sweety."
"Sooo?" Catherine's Fishing. His voice sounds ugly.
"So what?" sahut Laras's.
"Are you guys dating now?"
"No, not yet, I don't know," said Laras. "Okay Cath, I gotta hang up now, I'll see you when I get back to Manhattan." Laras hangs up the phone before being asked strange questions from his best friend.
The barrel came out of the small room and found Ben had finished refueling and was standing leaning against the door of his car. Looking at Laras with her arms folded and her sweet smile.
"Have you talked to your friend?" ask Ben.
His gaze followed the footsteps of Laras who had now stood beside him.
"Uh-huh," answered Laras, clumsily noticed Ben in such a way.
"Let's go in" said Ben while opening the door of the car he was using leaning for Laras. The girl smiled as a thank you. Then get on top of the car.
Autumn Leaves by Nat King Cole. But this time it is the French version of Les Feuilles Mortes by Yves Montand. Adding to the atmosphere in Ben's comfortable luxury car was more martyred.
The barrel rests its back on the back of the chair. Staring straight at the quiet street illuminated by public street lighting. The atmosphere in the car was empty. Only backsound-i by that sad song from the 50s.
Mata Baras caught a signboard that highlighted Ben's car lights that read Welcome To Lancester County on the side of the road.
"There's an Amish community settlement, you've heard of?" ben asked like a tour guide. Pointing to some old farmhouse whose lights are twinkling small. Barrel looked out the window and watched closely.
"Yes, I've heard, they are great, isolating themselves from the temptations of a rapidly evolving human civilization" Laras replied.
"I want to live like them."
Laras turned his head towards Ben who was putting on a flat face. The girl looked at him in disbelief.
"You?" ask Laras.
Ben chuckles. "Four, Laras .. only had such a thought."
"Yeah .it's impossible. Your life is too good to leave behind" Laras said.
Laras flicked his lips. Then nodding a sign of understanding.
"By the way about journalists, by the way,
it looks like our road trip has never been in contact with them huh," said Laras.
Ben pulled his shoulder. "Maybe they've got a more important job, stalking Donald Trump, for example," Ben quipped.
Barrels. This shitty guy is funny too, his inner.
"What to do in Philadelphia?" tanya Laras is like looking for information in the google search engine.
"We'll see when we get there" Ben replied. Looking towards Laras at a glance. The girl had leaned her back.
"Tell you alone" murmured Laras, closing his eyes. This man was going to take him where. The barrel evaporated several times. Makes her eyes water.
"Just sleep, I'll wake up when I get there" Ben said.
The barrel just nodded slowly. Positioning his body sideways facing towards Ben who was focusing on driving. Ah this guy, almost forgot he was Benjamin Chevalier from The Rebellion. Ben's attitude was really sweet during this odyssey of theirs. What's so special about a Baras, that Ben treats him so special, his mind. Poor, not very pretty when compared to Anita Wallis or other Ben dating friends.
Wait, Laras exclaimed inwardly. Special?
Don't ge-er just Baras.
Baras giggled softly, maybe Ben didn't hear it.
"What's so funny?" ben asked suddenly, making Laras gasp.
"Oh no, just think of something funny" said Laras. Then justify his body position.
"The flirtatious French guy?" ben Goda. Hah, just remember him, murmured Laras.
"Ishh," hissed Laras. "Imagine you wearing Amish clothes and hoeing in the fields." Laras continued. Ben is giggling. He glanced at his dark-looking blue eyes.
"And you're cooking in the kitchen, while our ten children are running around in the yard" Ben said.
Making Laras eyes that were half closed are now wide.
"That happy family, thank you Ben," Laras' words sounded sarcastic.
Ben turned towards Laras with the rest of his laughter. The face of Laras frowning.
"Ten children yes" said Ben still with his laughter.
"In your dreams!" exclaims Laras while closing his sweater and closing his eyes again. This time I really want to sleep.
