CONEY ISLAND, BROOKLY.
"Ah, the beach is much better in winter," said Mia as she lay her body on a stretch of white sand.
Brandon chuckles. "Freaky girl! Everyone goes to the beach in the summer, they want to sunbathe."
"I was born and raised in a tropical country, sunshine is nothing special to me" said Mia as she rose from the ground, sitting propping her body with her hands behind her back. The girl swept a look around. Sepi, there was only one or two people walking - walking with their dog.
"Brand," call Mia.
"Hmm?"
"Thank you." said Mia while turning to the black-haired man beside her.
"Thank you for what?" ask Brandon astonishment.
Mia smiled thinly. "For all your help all along."
Brandon. "I remember the first time I met you at your uncle's shop. Very thin and short Asian girl, working serves buyers awkwardly and shyly - shy."
Mia was shaking her lips. "I look pathetic?"
"No, you looked so fragile" Brandon said. "Make anyone want to protect you."
"Hey, I'm a tough woman, you know?" mia grumbled while throwing a handful of sand at Brandon, making the man reflectively protect his face.
Mia laughed satisfied. Then looked straight ahead and sighed slowly.
"Brand," call Mia.
"Yes?"
"Have you ever liked someone in silence?" ask Mia.
The sound of the waves was not comparable to the rumbling in Brandon's heart at this time.
"Hmm, yeah." she answered.
"Then what are you doing? Keep your feelings tight - meeting? Or did you manage to reveal it?"
Brandon breathed heavily. "I keep it to myself."
"Why?"
"Because I don't think she feels the same way about me."
"How do you know?"
"Because ... emm .. he considers me a friend, nothing more."
Mia nodded - nodding. "What a pity on you?" goda.
"Yes, what a pity." Brandon scratched - scratching his head that was not itchy at all. "But it's okay, just being close to her is enough."
"By the way, who is he?" tanya Mia made the hazel-eyed man choked.
"Just a girl from . eemm .. high school" she said.
"I see."
Brandon cleared his throat several times to smooth his dry throat.
"You don't feel cold? Let's find a warm drink" Brandon said, pointing to a cafe about five hundred meters from where they sat.
"Agree!" sahut Mia rose from her seat and extended her hand to Brandon. The man smiled and welcomed a helping hand from the sweet girl who would probably never know his true feelings.

Ashley knocked on Mia's room door slowly. Then open the door slowly. She saw the girl curled up in her thick blanket.
"You sick?" ashley asked as she opened the blanket that covered part of Mia's head.
"Slightly, it seems like the beach air doesn't suit me," Mia chuckled.
Ashley breathed slowly. "Why go to the beach in this cold weather?" his gerrick.
Mia grimacing. "Refreshing."
"Lammy, it's time to pay the flat rent tomorrow, do you have the money?" ask Ashley.
"Oh, shit!" maki Mia patted her forehead slowly.
Salaries from the Linden Center are given at the end of each month, while this is still mid-month. The money right now is just enough to eat.
Ask Brandon for help? Ah, I've troubled him enough.
Om Surya? I can't stand Aunt Merry and Debby.
Did I ask Mr. I'd pay. The chevalier?
Isn't it too embarrassing?
Maybe he'll pay me at the end of the month.
"My finances are bad this month, I can't cover your part first" Ashley said.
Mia flicked her blanket and sat leaning to the head of the bed. "Calm Ash, I'll pay my share tomorrow."
Ashley looked at her best friend with her eyes. "Sorry can't help you as usual."
Mia rested her back on the head of her bed. Breathe in - deep.
New York is hard.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, MANHATTAN.
Mia pressed the pink painted bell of the mansion several times. A middle-aged woman in a household assistant uniform appears to open the door for her.
"Please come in, Miss Kusuma" he said kindly.
"Thank you, Penelope" Mia told Penelope.
Mia nodded. Then step inside following the woman.
"Isn't today not Daren's training schedule?" ask the woman in wonder. "Jackelyn is taking him out" he continued.
"Emm .. actually I . want to see Mr. Chevalier," Mia replied hesitantly.
Penelope nodded - nodding. "Mrs. Chevalier's in the studio." Penelope pointed towards a black door at the end of the corridor. "You want me to call him or ...."
"I'll wait for her until she's done," cut Mia down immediately.
"Okay, you can wait for him in the kitchen or Daren's playroom."
"I'll just wait for him in the kitchen."
Penelope takes Mia to the kitchen. Then leave it in the chic room after making a cup of hot chocolate for him. Mia pulled the dining chair and sat on it. He had a look around the room. A spacious kitchen room, even much wider than the flat. There is a mini bar complete with chairs in the middle of the room. And one long shelf stuck to the wall containing various brands of expensive drink bottles.
Mia grabbed her thick coat. The heater was apparently not so able to dispel the cold felt due to fever that has not disappeared since yesterday.
.
An hour had passed, Mia was still waiting in the kitchen while playing her phone. The sound of the guitar shrill still sounded sloppy - sayup from Ben's studio at the end there. Mia sighed softly. His body was tired from the fever. The girl looked around. Penelope has gone nowhere.
Mia slid her head on the table and fell asleep.
***
"Ben, Mia's been waiting for you since, I left her in the kitchen because I had something to do, it's been almost three hours she's been waiting," penelope told Ben who had just left his studio. The middle-aged woman's face looked anxious.
Ben is upset. "Why didn't you call me?" ask Ben.
"He said he'd wait for you to finish, I don't think you'd be long, I'm sorry, Ben" Penelope said.
Ben immediately stepped into the kitchen and found Mia who was laying her head on the table. The girl's breath sounded smooth. A sign that he is asleep.
"Mia?" call Ben quietly while touching Mia's arm.
"Jesus Christ!" peekik Mia was shocked. His seat was pushed back and he almost fell. But Mia was still able to balance her body and immediately stood up. "I'm sorry, Mr. Chevalier," he said nervously.
Ben smiles. "Sorry to keep you waiting a long time, how can I help you?" ben asked, allowing Mia to sit back.
"Emm .. I ...." Mia squeaked her nape slowly. His tongue had suddenly become a mute.
Ben raised his eyebrows. "Yes?"
"Emc .. Mr. Chevalier, I'm sorry before, today I have to pay the rent for the apartment, it looks like I need my salary early, if you don't mind," Mia said with a heart.
Ben was wide open to hear Mia's words. "I think there's an important problem. Of course you can take your salary anytime. Just a minute."
Ben turned around and left Mia who looked relieved. The girl smiled thinly. Although he felt very bad for the man, but at least he will not mess around again about the rent this month.
Before long Ben reappears with a piece of check paper that reads JP Morgan - Chase, one of the largest banks in America, then hands it to Mia.
The girl's eyes were perfectly rounded when reading the numbers written on the rectangular paper.
"6000 dollars? Mr. Chevalier, didn't you write it wrong?" mia asked as she looked at Ben in disbelief.
"Take that in addition because you accompanied Daren to the zoo" Ben said calmly.
"But, I'm glad to be able to accompany Daren."
Ben smiles. "Thank you, I know you need it."
I don't know what Mia felt at the time. Touched, maybe. His eyes felt condensed.
"Thank you, Mr. Chevalier," said Mia.
"My pleasure."
"Thank you again" said Mia again. "Then I say goodbye, see you, Mr. Chevalier's."
Mia bowed small. Ben nodded at him with a nod of his head.
Ben looked at Mia's tiny back that disappeared behind the door. The man breathed deeply - deeply. His long hair was slow. Then he rubbed his face with his palm.
Why does it all seem like it's happening again?
Why Laras?
The barrel?
