Hanifa For Devan

Hanifa For Devan
Important Guests

His round eyes swept around, then switched to staring at his phone screen. Every now and then his finger shifted the screen, looking at the missed seconds. From the look of his face it was predictable that he was waiting for someone from a distance. Amidst his patience waiting, a step of someone approached him.

“Sorry, yes, Nak made you wait a long time.last I met Dad's friend before reaching the park."

Hanifa whose disheveled face was now shining brightly.

“Iya, Dad. It's okay" replied Hanifa smiling.

Doctor Arif nodded and held his daughter's shoulder. "Yes, now you go there, gih. Kasian she's alone."

“But if Devan doesn't want to see Hanifa how, Dad?"

“You believe in Dad, yeah." Doctor Arif assured.

Hanifa took a deep breath, then took it out slowly. He went straight to Devan's place. From a distance of several meters, his eyes had already seen the figure he had long wanted to meet. The figure is now focused on staring at the object in front of him. Slowly but surely, Hanifa's feet were already right behind that figure.

Hanifa smiled as she heard some rants and annoyance from her mouth. "If the pain is again reduced, his anger is reduced" he rebuked.

The man turned towards her. His eyes are perfectly round. Without Hanifa guessing, slowly the two corners of her lips were attracted to form a thin arch.

“Assalamualaikum, Devan."

Devan who was still staring at Hanifa moved his lips answered the greeting from Hanifa. Whether conscious or not, this was the first time he had answered a greeting from Hanifa.

Am I halu again? I felt Hanifa enter the room and talk to me. And this, now he's in front of me. Ask Devan to himself.

"How are you, Van?" hanifa asked that made her realize from her imagination.

“L-lo what's here?"

Hanifa chose to sit a few meters beside Devan. "I'm here to see you."

“So you already know my whereabouts?" devan said with a small smile. "Where's the lecture?"

“Alhamdulillah, just wait for the announcement."

Devan nodded with his eyes fixed facing forward. Hanifa glanced at him. Then look at the same object as him. Until the atmosphere becomes momentary silence.

Hanifa doesn't know what to say, nor does Devan. In his little heart, Devan wishes Hanifa had indeed only accompanied his father here, no other business including knowing about his operation plan.

“You're still a long time in this hospital, Van?" Hanifa's voice broke the silence again.

Devan slicked his shoulder. “Gue don't know. But I'm going home soon. Why?"

“Nothing."

“Lo kangen, yes, same me?" candelessly.

Hearing her words, Hanifa's eyebrows shot up next to her. “Apaan, anyway. It is not."

Devan laughs. "But no papa, anyway, if you miss me. I love it when it comes to ngangenin."

“Ge-er is really you," replied Hanifa quickly, then took something from inside her little bag. “From ge-er is not clear, mendingan you eat this bread. Let it heal quickly.”

Devan turned his head, then picked up the loaf of bread that was in Hanifa's hands. "This is the bread you gave me, right?"

Hanifa nodded in agreement. "Yes, but if you don't want to be either."

“We must appreciate the efforts of others, whatever their form. That's what you said," said Devan, seeking a plea. She was tired of the hospital food, and Hanifa's bread made her feel better.

"It's good to be conscious" Hanifa muttered smiling.

Devan who heard it instantly stopped his meal. "Lo said what just now?"

“Nothing. I told you, you ate it so that it would heal quickly." Hanifa denied.

Devan laughed when he heard it. The afternoon became more beautiful than what Dr. Arif said.

“Put the porridge again, I'm full." Devan shut his mouth tightly so that Hanifa would not force him to eat again.

“Van, you just ate three spoons. It's still a lot of porridge."

“No! Naw. Wanna puke me," Devan refused.

Seeing the man's attitude, Hanifa relented. He could not possibly force the food into his mouth again. Yes, today he was at the hospital where Devan was treated.

Since his arrival that afternoon, his father requested that he visit him frequently before the operation. Hanifa agreed to it because Devan also did not prevent her from coming.

“Stop. I want to be here," Devan pint when they get near the park. As usual, Hanifa invited Devan to walk around for a while.

Hanifa, who was pushing the wheelchair, stopped. Then sit on a long bench. Not a few minutes in that place, his phone vibrated.

“From who?" devan asked after seeing Hanifa pick up the phone.

Hanifa put her phone in. "From ummi."

“Oh, what did he say?"

“So ummi asked, where am I. I keep answering to you again, Dad. And ummi told me to go home."

“I don't know either, Van. He said there were important guests. Sorry, yes, I can't take long" Hanifa said and immediately got a nod from the man beside her.

“Let's not forget to eat, yes. Assalamualaikum."

“Be careful, waalaikumussalam," Devan replied looking at Hanifa's body that disappeared behind the hallway.

Thirty minutes after leaving the hospital, Hanifa finally arrived in front of her house. After descending, his eyes saw a black car parked in the front yard.

"Is this important person his friend ummi?" he murmured while stepping in. “Assalamaicum."

The three people sitting in the simple living room said their greetings. Hanifa's eyes were perfectly rounded when she saw that one of the people sitting there was someone she knew very well.

“Kak Wafi?"

The one called smiled.

“Son, when are you going to stand there?" umminya.

Umm Fatimah stood up and led her daughter to sit nearby. Hanifa who was still confused by this situation only fell silent while occasionally glancing at the man who was sitting with two other people. Maybe they are family, cousins or friends.

"Please drink the tea, son," said Ummi Fatimah.

“Thank you Umm," replied Wafi smiling.

Umm Fatimah nodded. Now his eyes shifted to his daughter.

"Ifa knew Wafi?" ask the woman.

Hanifa nodded. "Already, Umm."

“Ifa still remember when Ummi never said there were men who helped Ummi in the market at that time?"

Hanifa nodded back.

“Well the one who helped Ummi was nak Wafi. He's a good man."

Hearing her being praised, Wafi felt bad. "Ummi could have. Muslims should help each other, Umm."

“God, Ummi becomes more reg, deh," said Ummi Fatimah again.

Hanifa who did not understand the direction of the ummi conversation at all and the man in front of her was irritated.

“Oh yes, Ummi called what?"

“Ifa, sorry, yes, Ummi called and suddenly told Ifa to come home. Look, son Wafi and his uncle want to convey something to you."

Hanifa furrowed her brows. "Deliver what, Ummi?"

Instead of getting an answer from his ummi, Hanifa was even more confused with the ummi's eyes that hinted for Wafi to talk.

“Begini nak Hanifa, Wafi never told the same Om if he likes a woman and intends to make it as a companion of his life. Actually Wafi had long wanted to propose to him, but because uncle had not had time to come and constrained other things, so we were only today able to come," replied the man who sat beside Wafi.

“What uncle mean, huh?" ask Hanifa not understand.

“Nak Wafi wants to propose to you as his wife, baby," said Ummi Fatimah.

Hanifa. "Apply me? Was Wafi the wrong address? There might be a mistake here" Hanifa said.

"There's absolutely no mistake, Hanifa. You might be surprised by all this. But believe me, my arrival here is no joke." Finally Wafi spoke. "Actually, I've been watching you for a long time. That's why I'm sure I chose you."

“Yes, Son Hanifa. Wafi's intentions have been expressed the same Om a few weeks ago. Actually Wafi's parents also want to come here, but because there is work that is not finished, so uncle who accompanied him. How's Hanifa?"

Hanifa was still silent, trying to digest what had just happened before her. His eyes looked towards Wafi who was currently staring at him as well. Hanifa then directly lowered her head.

“How, darling?" For the umminya time speaking.

Just about to speak, Salma suddenly ran into the living room with breathless breath and a teddy bear still attached to her hand.

"K...Brother Ifa... I... That's... That.." said Salma stammered with her breath still panting.

Everyone in the living room was worried to see the terrified expression on Salma's face. “What's the matter, baby? You why?" tanya ummi Fatimah and immediately move towards Salma.

“Salma, take a breath first, yes," suggested Hanifa and directly obeyed by her beloved sister.

“Now, Salma say. What's up?" hanifa held both of her arms.

“Big brother... Fainted... Big brother in the front well fainted..," said Salma again. Apparently, Salma's fear returned, until she didn't know what she had just said.

“What do you mean, son? Whose brother?" tanya ummi Fatimah was curious.

“Kak Devan, he fainted in front of Umm," Salma replied finally.

"Huh?"

Hearing the name, Hanifa immediately ran out. Followed by Ummi and his guests. Sure enough, everyone who had just come out was managed to be shocked by the figure that was already lying helplessly in front of the gate.
