Ever since he left the school, his smile never went out. From starting to take the entrance test yesterday made him want to quickly go to college. Yes, after the national exam she underwent a few weeks ago, Arif's doctor told her to take the college entrance test.

After the test was over, he chose to wait at the main gate, waiting for an online taxi that would take him home. After five minutes, the taxi finally arrived.

"Sir, take me to Hermina Pasteur Hospital, yes," Hanifa said to the taxi driver.

"Well, ma'am," he answered.

The journey from the UNISBA campus to the hospital where his father served was quite long. After reaching the destination, Hanifa immediately opened the car door. Not long after, Hanifa's eyes narrowed at her father who had just been discharged from the hospital in a hurry.

“Where's the hurry?" Hanifa asked herself.

Actually he wanted to prevent his father from leaving, he did not undo. But out of curiosity as well, she finally chose to follow her father.

"Sir, can you follow that car in front?"

The driver nodded and immediately drove forward his car. After reaching the destination, Hanifa went down. Before entering, his eyes briefly read the writing plastered in front of the building where he stood.

“Ali Sadikin Hospital? Do you work here too? But you never told me, did you?" The questions immediately turned in his head.

Without even bothering, Hanifa immediately stepped her foot in. His head did not stop moving around, looking for the whereabouts of the father in the elite hospital. After finding the father figure, Hanifa followed her father from a considerable distance. His legs came to a halt as his father entered a VIP room.

Actually Hanifa wanted to just go back, but because of her strong curiosity made her legs continue to step up until a long bench near the room. Hanifa did not continue her intention to enter, but instead chose to sit on a long bench waiting for her father to come out.

“ifa? What are you doing here?" Doctor Arif's voice suddenly shocked him.

"Dad?"

Doctor Arif smiled. "What are you doing here?"

Knowing her father would ask her like that, Hanifa then scratched her head that was not itchy.

“Ifa followed Dad, huh? guess the guy.

Hearing that, Hanifa smiled clumsyly. “Yeah, get caught. Sorry, yes, Dad," he said. “Dad there is a task here?"

Before answering his daughter's question, Arif's doctor sits himself near Hanifa. Then take a deep breath. “Maybe Dad can't be long

hide this the same as you."

Hanifa's face was confused by her father's words just now. "Hidden what, Dad?"

“Actually I'm not on duty here, but there's a Dad patient who I have to operate here" he replied.

“Which Daddy patient? Is he done with the operation?"

Doctor Arif was silent then took his breath. "The role's only a few days away, son."

Hanifa nodded unsuspectingly. “Hopefully the operation goes well, yes."

“Nak, actually the patient Dad who will be operating it, is Devan."

“What?" ask Hanifa in disbelief.

Before speaking, doctor Arif again let out a long sigh. It seems he was very heavy telling Hanifa about it.

“During this time, Devan is not doing well, son. The tumor has entered stage 3. So it must be immediately in surgery," said Arif's doctor lowered his head.

Hanifa's mouth was silent. His whole body no longer works. His eyes feel hot. Why didn't Devan tell me? Don't like him so much as me? Inner Hanifa.

“Dad knows, you will definitely be worried and maybe angry at him. That's what Devan won't tell you."

Hanifa wiped her tears. A few minutes ago, she was crying. I don't know what makes him so sad.

“Now where is he, Dad?"

“Devan forbids Dad to tell you, Honey. Forgive me, Father."

"Dad, I beg you. I'd like to see her for a minute" Hanifa said.

Unable to see his daughter's eyes that seemed to be getting wet again, Dr. Arif relented. He then moved on and coded for Hanifa to follow him. After reaching the VIP door that his father entered earlier, Hanifa's legs still felt heavy to enter. But he has to do it.

“Devan, how are you? You're good, right?" hanifa asked in a very slow voice, not wanting to wake the man lying in front of her, while holding back his cry from coming out.

"Sorry, yeah. I entered your room without permission. I was just for a second. You are strong, yes, I know you are great" Hanifa said forcing herself to smile.

Looking at Devan who was not moving at all, Hanifa could not help but cry. He immediately ran out. He then sat himself in the hospital garden. Doctor Arif followed. As if understanding her daughter's feelings, she tried to ease her cries.

“You want to talk to Devan?" ask Dr. Arif.

Hanifa turned her head and wiped the rest of her tears. "Can you, Dad?"

“If If you want, I can take Devan for a walk."

Hanifa shook her head. "No, Dad. Poor he must be exhausted."

“Nak, before the operation the patient's mind should be relaxed and calm. So, according to Dad, if Devan is taken out or to the park even good for his health as well. Anyway Ifa should come this afternoon with Dad. Yeah, who knows with the arrival of Ifa, Devan's disease suddenly says right?"

Hanifa gave a small laugh hearing her father's last sentence. “Dad is-just about it. How could Devan's illness be caused by meeting a human like me?"

“Yes, who knows, right. You are, consider Daddy never young," joked Dr. Arif to end his speech. Seeing the happiness on the father's face, Hanifa was also happy.

“Once dong smiles, it's getting pretty Daddy's daughter."

Devan's eyes opened as Jihan walked into his room. After putting down the item she was carrying, Jihan approached the gurney of her sister.

“How are you doing, Van?"

“Still the same," she replied quickly.

“Yes already, now you eat, yes. Brother bribe." Jihan helps Devan wake up until his head is propped against the wall. Then feed him with porridge that had just been delivered by the hospital attendant.

Since knowing his condition, Devan has indeed been better behaved towards his brother. He is no longer as jutek as before. Maybe because for the rest of his life, he wanted to spend it with the only family he had.

Just a few mouthfuls, Devan had already told Jihan to put down the porridge. “Gue wants to pray," he said as he prepared for tayamum.

After finishing tayamum, Devan immediately performed the Ashar prayer that had been missed two minutes ago. Then read some of the Quran. His heart seemed to be entered by the light as his mouth chanted verse by verse from the glorious book.

His soul calmed down when he came to verse 147 of Surah An-nisa which means: “Allah will not torment you if you are grateful and have faith. And Allah is Most Grateful, All Knowing."

The verse continues to repeat until the sound of knocking on the door makes him have to end his reading. When his hand just put the mushaf on top of the drawer, his eyes narrowed to see the doctor Arif who had entered with a wheelchair.

“Assalamualaikum, Son Devan."

Devan smiles. "Waalaikumussalam, Doc. Tumben Doctor's late in the afternoon here?"

“Ah yes, it happens that Om's schedule today is not too crowded. So, Om can take you for a walk around the hospital."

Devan's eyes narrowed. "Walk?"

“Iya. The weather this afternoon is quite beautiful, Nak Devan. Maybe that way, your mood will get better. Comeing! Help you stand up."

Although still confused by what doctor Arif did, Devan still complied when doctor Arif helped him stand and sit in a wheelchair. Five minutes later, they reached the park located in the middle of the elite hospital.

“Mmm, Nak Devan. Om going to the toilet for a while, yes," asked Dr. Arif and immediately got a nod from Devan.

Now, Devan lives alone with the view of the hospital and several nurses who passed in front of him. Doctor Arif said right, the weather this afternoon is good.

A bright orange sky plus a gentle breeze complements its beauty. In fact, his curly hair had already been played several times by the wind passing nearby.

But the longer Devan gets bored. Not because of his sight, but because he was the only one sitting in the garden. There were other patients, but they were with their families. Some were even with their wives and children. Five minutes waiting, Dr. Arif never came again.

“Ck. Doctor Arif where is he? Is the toilet full so she hasn't even turned back?" muttered Devan a little annoyed.

Amidst his annoyance, someone's voice greeted him. "If the pain is again, his anger is reduced" he said.

Devan looked at me. His eyes were perfectly round looking at who was standing next to him.
