Grizzled

Grizzled
#S2 Episode 13

“How is the condition?”

“All vital organs are functioning well. Maybe Your Majesty will be a little traumatized, but it won't be too bad.”

“Is there any other more serious damage to his memory? I hope not, so please check and make sure this time too.”

“Sorry, Young Knight, to detect it required a re-scan or ask directly to His Majesty. Those two ways can only be done when Your Majesty is already awake.”

The vague conversation I heard provoked my consciousness. My sense of hearing is back on, but my eyes won't work together to open. The motor nerves responsible for moving my body also seemed to be still lazing around. Damn, why am I so weak?!

The more consciousness gathered, the dizzy hit my head the harder it got. In the end only an indistinct mutter managed to escape my throat, trying to call out to anyone who had spoken near here.

“Your Majesty? Your Majesty is already aware!” said Luska who was only visible through half-opened eyelids.

“Condition is still weak, Young Knight. It is better today that we let His Majesty rest in full,” replied Doctor Kara.

“Ya, I agree.”

After the anxious look I had seen from Luska, he left the room. Doctor Kara came to put the automatic checker watch I tried this morning. Earlier morning? What time is it now? How long have I been asleep?

“Kara ... This is where?” many weak can only move the eyeball, circling the view to the whole plain white room without this window.

“We've returned to Alba, Your Grace. This is my treatment room,” replied Doctor Kara. Back to Alba? Is ... Oh, a visit to Griseo prison! The terrible event I had remembered suddenly gathered my strength again.

“Please ... please do another memory scan for me!” I suddenly managed to rise up in panic.

“His Majesty should rest first. The scan results will not be accurate when your condition is like this,” replied Kara again calmed me.

“Kara, please ...”

“Your Majesty, don't worry. As far as I know no memory is lost, no. There is another place besides the brain to store memories and memories. Here is the place,” replied Kara touching my chest gently, making my own heartbeat feel.

“In our hearts, all the precious memories we have ever experienced will continue to be stored even though the ones in the brain are damaged. That's why .. don't worry,” whispered Doctor Kara shriveled with a smile that this time is not like made-up. My eyes suddenly filled with wet dew in order to acknowledge the truth of Doctor Kara's words. Had the memory had existed, I would have held her tightly before Griseo had seized her, I had kept her tightly in my heart. Basically, I didn't lose anything.

“I still have it ...” I said softly, crying in the young doctor's arms.

The four of us –aku, Doctor Kara, Ladra, and Luska– are in the room with monitors where to watch my memory tape track. This time we'll see it for a second, after a shorter re-scan just now.

“So, how did it go?” tanya Ladra, “I don't want to hear bad news.”

“Luckily, I also will not say anything bad,” replied Doctor Kara, "from computer analysis, the results of the second scan are still similar to the first. That means, everything is still normal, nothing decreases or increases. Griseo does not manipulate anything else from His Majesty's memory,“ he explained. That sounds a little relieving.

Doctor Kara further explained by enlarging the red dot of the source of my problem, “It looks like Griseo is indeed trying to recover His Majesty's memory, but what a pity, it is, destructive waves that can only be neutralized he himself already cannot be tampered with because of the constructive wave pattern.”

“Where did that constructive wave come from? Can't be eliminated?” my many.

“Um, getting rid of constructive waves is more complicated than neutralizing destructive waves. The constructive wave trail builds up the memories of others in His Majesty's memory ribbon, but His Majesty should thank whoever put in that constructive wave, he said, because without it the severe damage you suffer can take lives.”

“Who did that?”

“Silver knight,” replied Ladra sure.

“Oh, someone who asked himself to be sent to the Grey World six hundred years ago?” guess Luska, “I thought it was just a fairy tale because in reality he never came back.”

“It's not a fairy tale. It turns out it's not a fairy tale. Silver knights really exist and only that one person made it into the Grey World,” Ladra replied, “all the predictions about Silver Knights and their descendants will end the Grey World entity ... it's also real.”

“But the Head of the Board did not believe that in advance ...”

“We'll talk about it later, Luska! The most important thing is Your Highness first,” replied the Head of the Council further asking me, “what is there really a memory of the Silver Knight you have seen in a dream or daydream, Your Majesty?”

“I ... only this first time heard something about the Silver Knight, so I did not know or had time to dream of it,” I replied.

“The original name is Sakti. He forced his way into the Grey World in order to save his twin sister who was trapped there. Most likely His Majesty fought in the Grey World where the Silver Knight's sister was held back.”

I was stunned after hearing Ladra's explanation. The shakti? The twins? Those two clues reminded me of the boy in my dream. The twins, one of whom was treated unfairly, and the other one hugged me warmly, whispering words that seemed like a spell to end a dream. I rubbed my face for a moment, making sure it was ever in my dreams.

“Your Majesty remembers it?”

“Ya ..” mumbled I withered, “the childhood memory of one of the twin brothers I've seen in my dreams.”

“Means what Griseo said is true. The Silver Knight managed to save His Majesty by filling that damage with his own memories, but as a consequence His Majesty's memory of the Grey World was irreversible,” Ladra said visibly worried, “how is this? The only one who knows the key to the destruction of that cursed world is only His Majesty!”

“Actually .. not really,” said Luska suddenly, “if Griseo can be trusted, we still have one more hope, Head of Board.”

“What?”

“Griseo had told me that there was one more person who fought alongside His Majesty to defeat the Grey World and the memory of that person was still intact,” Luska said.

“Silver Knights by themselves?” guess Ladra, “is he still alive after hundreds of years?”

“Not, not the Silver Knight, but his descendants ...”

“Someone from Nigra was an ally of Aquila at that time? Garuda ‘kan? He was just an ordinary person who claimed to be a descendant of the Silver Knight!” ladra replied annoyed, “we've seen it, he can't do anything for Alba!”

“Not Garuda, Head of Board, but Eagle,” replied Luska made my blood rustle instantly. The hawk? Eagle's involved?!

“Do Your Majesty know someone named Eagle?”

 ***

Chronology is. When Luska asked if I knew the Eagle? At first I made sure, Dirgarajak What did he mean? Well, of course he doesn't know, but even though I only know one person named Eagle, the Head of the Council still believes that the Eagle is involved with the Grey World, just like me. That's why, for the sake of the strategy of defeating the Grey World that I had lost from my memory, Ladra allowed me to return to Nigra to pick up the Eagle and return after twenty-four hours –siaal, after which, I want to stay there longer.

Actually it is a bit of disbelief that the Eagle was also involved because he never said anything. He switched schools on the day I was recovering from my discharge from the hospital, but the Eagle should have told me something as important as this through a message or phone. We also had a chance to meet during edufair – last time I saw him– but he also did not mention anything about the Grey World. Why does he seem to be covering it up for me?

“Your Majesty?”

The sound behind the bedroom door immediately made me jump in excitement.

“Hai! You're back?” I said open the door ahead of the waiter.

“Um, yes ... Your Majesty seems very happy,” said the person who was clearly Luska.

“Oh, very happy, as long as you know!” my answer. My opponent just smiled, “have you normalized anything back there? The hypnosis that wraps my family up about me? Already cleared?”

“Already, Your Honor, from tomorrow they are back to normal.”

“Good,” answered I can't hide my flowery feelings, “by the way why didn't I just come with you earlier?”

“Oh, since the last Dimensional Gate Tower exploded, there is no more portal access to Nigra, but luckily before that happened, our scientist managed to find his anticipation,” said Luska reached into something behind his cloak. A kind of paper bend like a dull creamy note sticky note. I've seen papers like this.

“This Cross Dimensional Paper. Disposable use for one person. Simply torn, we will arrive at Nigra instantly. If we're in Nigra, tearing this paper up will take us to Alba. Well, since the system was instant, the energy taken from the moon crystal was quite large. Equivalent daily power usage for one house per single use. That's why we have to save on the use of this paper,” explained Luska.

“Oh, well, I understand,” my reply received two pieces from him.

“That's for travel go and go home. Paper for Eagle to wear when I return here I have placed in the drawer of the study table Your Majesty ..”.

“You entered my room?!”

“ ... I left two there, one just in case," replied Luska ignoring my protest questions.

“Alright, just stay torn, yes ‘kan?”

Luska nodded, “Don't forget, Your Majesty must return before twenty-four hours. Otherwise, I will still pick up His Majesty with the Eagle which will surely waste a lot of energy. That's why, please don't make me have to pick up.”

“Can I ask for something more?” I expect a lot.

“Should not,” replied Luska according to my estimation, “but I will work on it for His Majesty.”

My own smile was instantaneous.

“Your Highness wants to stay longer in Nigra ‘right? I understand His Majesty's feelings and I think, Your Majesty does have the right to linger before finally facing more serious things here,” replied Luska.

“So, can I come back after three days?” my many.

“Um, I will try. If before three days I have already picked up, it means no.”

“Hopefully we can! Please make the Board Chief understand, I leave it to you!”

Luska did not answer anything else afterwards, turning away along the silent passage. However, I heard him whisper, “Happy homecoming!” before his figure vanished at the turn. Heheh, where did he understand that term from? But perhaps, I will return home for a moment before returning to the land of the region in another dimension.

Without taking any more time, the one cross-dimensional paper in my hand I tore off steadily. A moment of white light carried me into the air.

***

The light in the sky that caught my eyes looked just as awesome. Really, I feel like I'm surrounded by thousands of fireflies. In addition to that scene, another figure also caught my half-open eyes. From my position, his chin and jawline are most visible. My head rested comfortably on his chest, on top of the sturdy arms that were carrying my body. From my swaying gaze, I could make sure he was stumbling along to drag his steps to take me somewhere.

The line of words that escaped his lips kept repeating itself over and over again.

“Stay alive, stay alive! Please, stay alive!”

He looked down at my face as my eyes closed again.

Eh? Which dream is it? And ... who was that guy?

I still wanted to keep wondering before finally being swallowed back into the all-white room that was hugging me with an overwhelming sense of comfort.

 ***

Shocked in shock, the sound of beeping repeatedly like the exploding seconds of a bomb forced me to wake up. Other than the sight I saw all around, the beep-beep made me happy half to death.

That's my alarm sound!

And I was in a box of worlds the happiest territorial zone of all my teenage years. Beloved room! With sheets and blankets that are both Doraemon Stand by Me, with plastic books and maps that spit out papers on the nightstand, with walls stamped with colorful sticky notes that ... Geez! I can't believe I woke up in my own room!

I soared up and down here and there, rolling on the bed and hugging madly kiss the walls. The opening of the door and the longing of the head there interrupted my celebrity event.

“Yes!” said that childish voice, “alarm Brother is really useless! Why install when Brother does not immediately come out of the room after the alarm sounds?!”

I stared at the boy I haven't riddled with since the last three days.

“Adikkuuuuuu!!”

He hurriedly closed the door before I could hug him, making me end up crashing into the cold and hard door. Goddamnit! My bidat!

“Buuu! Crazy brotheraa!”

Again, damn it!
