Grizzled

Grizzled
#S2 Episode 12

You know, in front of the window, I'm tired of being half dead. Since returning from seeing Doctor Kara, there's not much I can do while waiting for the next decision from the Chief of the Council. God-level Homesick, I miss my old routine. How did mom and dad at home who now forget about my whereabouts huh? Or Yasinta who repeatedly couldn't reach me? May the chaos in my head not happen!

My memory has not been restored when I had much hope. Well, apparently there's one last hope. I don't know the name Ladra, who's allegedly responsible for the damage to my memory. Griseo ... Griseo, sounds so foreign to my ears. Ladra did not give much explanation before he hurriedly left and returned to the conference room with Luska.

Ah, rather than being like a queen, I look more like a child whose fate is in the hands of the decisions of the members of this castle council. Well, once it becomes a real queen, it will be very troublesome.

“Yang Mulia ..”

“Hm?” my response was brief to someone who was always willing to go in and out of my room.

“Your Highness is fine?” ask Luska. I just took a long breath. Nah! Not since it all started! Those words are in my throat. It's too exhausting to keep complaining and bemoaning things, I'm trying to resign to whatever fate brings me to an end anywhere.

“Your Majesty don't worry, we will still take the last road to recover His Majesty's memory,” Luska said again.

“And that last road ... what?”

Luska grabbed the book I read yesterday, sitting next to me while opening the first page.

“As agreed in the conference, we will meet Griseo,” he replied.

“I thought, who is Griseo?” ask again.

“He's a demon who has corrupted His Majesty's memory.”

“The head of the Council did say he was the culprit of my memory destruction, but Griseo turned out to be ... devil?”

“Really! Oh, Your Majesty clearly doesn't remember it!” luska closed the book again.

“So, here's the story ... Griseo was the demon lord of a patch of the Grey World that His Majesty had conquered. At the end of his resistance, he might have had time to damage His Majesty's memory to prevent His Majesty from conquering the rest of the existing Grey World,” explained Luska.

“Oh, then we will meet him to recover my memory?”

“True, sounds risky and I actually totally disagree. What makes Griseo happy to restore your memory?”

“Too creepy for me to imagine! I don't want to! He'll just ruin the rest of my memory!” my answer goosebumps thinking about it, “please tell the Head of the Board, I won't go! Why did you decide this without asking for my approval?!”

“Yang Mulia calm down first. It's not as bad as you imagine!”

“True, but worse!”

“Really, Your Majesty, listen up first! Griseo is currently imprisoned on a remote island in the middle of the ocean. His dark magic power vanished after his Grey World was destroyed.”

“But his revenge on me will not disappear at all! There is no good chance that he will actually recover my memories!”

“There,” replied Luska, “by promising new strength for her. Well, not real, anyway! Deceiving demons does not include sinful things, yes ‘kan?”

 ***

I wanted something and now I have to get it done so soon.

“Mari, Your Majesty! We ride the paxii as you expected!” the word Luska looks most striking with the golden-feathered paxii that ushered me flying over the clouds a few days ago. Paxii the Council Head mount alone is not as pretty as Luska's, jet-black hairy with some accessories on the legs and neck.

“Sorry for again Luska who has to accompany His Majesty on the way,” said Ladra, “I will watch from behind. If Luska cannot control the speed of her mount, my whip will certainly dart to her back.”

“Eh, no, dong! Later if even fall real can be serious!” reply me while Luska just grinned.

This time it brought me more people. In addition to one of the other council members, the Head of the Council also invited a number of bodyguards with paxii mounts that were as black as his. I also saw Doctor Kara in this entourage. Without buying any more time, we immediately set off, leaving the castle.

Along the land of clouds, paxii walked like a horse. This motorcade became a spectacle of the inhabitants from the high windows in their box houses. A little girl was seen waving at me, then her mother seemed to reprimand her. The boy's smile faded, but soon returned after I waved back. The mother was also wrong.

“Well, a trip like this is exciting!” my word.

“Your Majesty likes?” ask Luska.

“Lumayan!” my answer is still occasionally stroking soft paxii feathers. This beast looked unperturbed and continued to darken its steady pace.

“By the way, why this time we do not travel by portal car?” my many.

“Because we will go to the surface,” replied Luska.

“Oh, portal car is not connected to the surface huh?”

“Actually several dimensional gate towers are connected to the portal carriage access point in the castle, but the only tower still standing has been destroyed due to the expansion of the Grey World yesterday, but,” obviously Luska reminds me back to one thing.

“You mean the tower Aquila and her grandmother lived in?”

“Yes, Your Honor. The tower was built to open an interdimensional portal to and from Nigra, but it was closed for a long time and the tower was unused. We had time to use it for expansion monitoring points before eventually moving into cloud cover. It turns out that some systems still work and can open an interdimensional portal to pick up Your Majesty.”

Bodo is very much about the tower. I was silent for a moment at the thought of how sad Aquila was for losing her grandmother. How is his condition now? If I had the chance, I would have visited him.

“Oh yes, Luska, why did Aquila and her grandmother live on the surface?” ask me to realize the strangeness, “why did he not move to the cloud?”

Luska who was controlling the bridle behind me had not answered for a while. What's the matter? Oh, I just remembered that actually the relationship of these two people is not good at all. Not only did Aquila tell me that Luska was an unpleasant part of the past, but it was also evident from her second bacot fight when Luska came to pick me up at the tower that time.

“He does not care much, but there must be some things that the woman said to His Majesty, right ‘kan?” luska said, asking.

“True, that's why I wonder why he doesn't like you,” I replied.

“There is a connection with political competition in the formation of the Internal Board Body a few years ago,” replied Luska sound lazy to tell this, saying this, “Aquila who is the leader of the opposition faction does not have the support of the people and with the rest of his ego is not shrinking decided to stay on the surface, refusing to join us up here.”

Ah, so it's like that. I don't understand politics or just being interested in it, but it's a pity that Aquila would have to risk her grandmother's safety to stay on the surface just for the sake of indulging her ego. What was it that he had so sought for the sake of being in the midst of a group of people titled Internal Council Body that was now dizzy to ask for forgiveness for the safety of many people?

I myself with an empty head that is burdened with such great responsibilities sometimes still complain occasionally. Really, being in a high position is not just about the fun. Well, basically I don't like heights, in the truest sense or not.

The archway that greeted me for the first time when I arrived up here began to look not far ahead. A few guards on his left right bowed respectfully as our motorcade passed by.

After going through the gate, the land that I saw foggy getting thicker. The two bodyguards in the front vanished into a wisp of fog, the next I and Luska followed, as well as a few people behind us. I still remember the sensation of cold dew grains slapping the face, creeping around the eyes, and ringing in the ears the first time through the fog earlier.

The next second I opened my eyes again, treated by a stretch of omnipotent pond bordering the horizon arch. Looking in one direction, the tops of the hills in the distance mark the existence of land. However, it is not the land we are heading to. If my guess is not wrong, it is the land where I first arrived here, which is now controlled by the Grey World. The dark dome that is even visible from up here reinforces the truth of my guess.

The land is getting lost behind the horizon as our paxii moves away. I did not get to see a small hole in the middle of the ocean when this riding beast was flying low. A few moments later I was seen by a lonely rock in the midst of the waves. I even doubted if we could all land together under this little rock.

My doubts were answered after a thin, reddish, circular light with an intricate hexagon pattern in the center appeared before the paxii stepped on the reef. For some time Luska had injured her hand, dripping her blood at the center of the halo. The wind suddenly made me close my eyes for a few seconds. When I opened it again, the little rock disappeared. We've landed on a stretch of coastal sand. I don't understand how this dry little island was hidden in a mute rock.

We are moving towards the center of the island which is getting sunken inwards. There was a gaping hole like the mouth of a cave that headed underground, leaping up not covered by anything.

“Griseo, the demon that had corrupted His Majesty's memory was locked inside there,” Ladra said.

“Bracket? His cave mouth opened just like that,” I argue, a little worried about it.

“This cave is lower than sea level. If Griseo tries to get off this island and hits the light seal earlier, the seawater will sink the entire island,” Ladra explained.

“Griseo with empty power as it is now afraid of water, as long as Your Majesty knows,” added Luska. Wow, just like Shiro! How's that fur ball?

“Although Griseo has lost his strength, we must remain vigilant,” Ladra said down from paxii followed by another. Two bodyguards with Doctor Kara did not enter. I, Ladra, Luska, and two guards came down that hole. The entrance staircase creates a ticking sound when it collides with our steps. The smell of damp smelling down the stronger it feels uncomfortable to breathe. Plus the dimly lit lighting successfully gives the impression of its own haunted. My heart is stubborn, imagining the form of a demon down there.

Luska held me back, preventing me from getting close when the back of a thick, rough black creature covered in asphalt began to appear. His position turned his back on us, making his long black tail that swerved like a cat's tail the only thing we could see. The creature suddenly splashed down for a moment then realized our existence.

“Hore! No guests!”

Ladra and Luska's cold gaze fell on the creature.

“Ya, yes ... I know I'm not a friendly host, so it's only natural that you guys behave like that. Come, please sit down! Let's just say here there are some cake jars and hot teapots. Well, just think of it like that, just imagine it, okay?” said the creature I can now see his smirk. To be honest he wouldn't be scary without that asphalt skin and that broken horn next to him. The tail does not matter because although strange it can still be said to be funny.

“Dan ... Hi, Son Shiraaaa! Old man did not meet! Oh, no, but now Your Majesty! Life is always full of surprises! Eh? What happened to the foreign look? Geez, I'm thousands of years old, so it's only natural that I'm senile, hahaa! Of course Your Majesty doesn't remember me!”

“Have this nonsense, Griseo!” ladra.

“Well, finally the Head of the Board spoke up. Why don't you let His Majesty come closer? I won't hurt him a second time. How could I possibly have done that after he had gone all the way through the interdimensional portal to meet me? Geez, I'm moved!” griseo replied with a look that seemed to be undermining my head, forcing me to remember who the figure behind the demon's face was.

“I won't linger here! Jump to the point just ...”

“I'm asked to recover His Majesty's memory! Tadaa! I am still strong enough to guess! In that case, let him come closer here!” the word Griseo cuts off Ladra's speech. In the blink of an eye, Luska had jumped to the other side behind Griseo, sticking the sword that had already been plucked from its sheath into the demon's neck.

“Do not mess! If you injure His Majesty even worse, I'll make sure you die before that happens!” snapped it.

“What, anyway, Young Knight? You know I'm as immortal as you are, so that threat is not at all scary!” griseo casually put away the sword after Luska was struck by his words.

“And also, save all the negotiations you are planning! I no longer need my old strength! It was all over after I was defeated by the boys, eliminated from the elite of the demons by it. I have retired to be a demon! Maybe being a brain massage therapist is becoming a new profession that is more suitable for me!” griseo answered rising from his position, confidently stepping towards me. Ladra and the two guards who were blocking were easily knocked out with just a single blank pat in the air, leaving them paralyzed and down on the spot, as well as Luska who was behind him.

I've taken steps to run before it gets blocked first. The rough, scar-like skin felt sore when it came into contact with me. The two bodyguards outside with Doctor Kara rushed in after hearing Luska's scream, but only ended up in the same state after Griseo flicked his finger into the air. I don't know what technique he used, but my strength is not at all on the same level as it seems.

Crazy indeed! Even when Griseo had lost his strength, he was still able to cripple many people in such a short period of time! Have I ever defeated a demon this strong?

“They are too hypocritical! Come to ask for help while threatening and making His Majesty wait for a long time! Though we can immediately start the recovery session, right ‘kan, Your Majesty? Oh, or would you rather be called Shira?” tanya Griseo tried to touch my forehead but repeatedly I pushed away.

“Do not touch! Who would believe you would actually recover my memories?!” I answered scared to death.

“Then why do you guys keep going here?” tanyanya acknowledges my concerns since before departure. End already! The rest of my memory, I don't want to lose it!

Had that memory been in existence, I would have held her tight as Griseo began to snatch her, successfully catching my forehead. The next instant the painful pulse as if my head was pierced with a drill made my body feel torn apart. If there's a choice, I'd rather just die than live with my head completely empty! I just want to die! Just die! I can't stand it!

“ASSHOLE!”

Griseo's words sounded along with the devil's hand coming out of my head. Numbness, I felt nothing when my body collapsed on the rocks of this cave floor.

“There are memories of others who filled that damage!” griseo said again, “I can't recover his memory when it's like this!”

“Pola .. constructive wave patterns ...” Doctor Kara murmured.

“You know? Have you checked it?! There was the memory of another person replacing the damage to Shira's head! The insolent! Who did it?!” amuk Griseo, “aaargh! Fucking silver knight!”

Griseo went on a rampage at will when the people he had paralysed returned to normal. The fastest recovering Luska immediately helped the sprawled me, shaking my cheek slowly.

“Your Majesty? Your Majesty, hold on! Doctor Kara, please ...” said he passed me to Doctor Kara who also just recovered from her temporary paralysis. In one blow, Luska slammed the demon into the cave wall.

“It wasn't my fault!” griseo said, “it wasn't me who put other people's memories in his head! Ask the doctor, had that constructive wave not existed, I would have been able to recover the memories of your queen!”

“You are earnestly trying to restore His Majesty's memory?!”

“Why not?”

“Why not?!”

One more dings for Luska to vent his anger.

“Where might you really do it!” refute Luska.

“I really tried to recover it! Little thank you for trying!” answer Griseo.

“But why?!”

I no longer cared about anything because my own head still ached half to death. The second conversation was only vaguely heard. Griseo's grin on his face could not be seen when he said the next thing.

“Because everything was more exciting when the boy regained his memory. I just need to be a spectator after that, applauding the tragedy I was hoping for without bothering to dirty my own hands!”
