Grizzled

Grizzled
Episode 29's

There was nothing I saw but a gray mist wrapping around the view. Not daring to move, preferring to be quiet because I do not know there is anything around me. A gust of wind that rattled the little hairdo signified that I was out in the open.

The fog slowly thinned as if carried by the wind earlier. The scenery in front of me gradually began to appear. Realizing my terrible position – on the top of the second floor of the– building made me unable to withstand the panic. It felt different when I hadn't noticed it a while ago. Though it would be safer if I kept quiet and moved carefully, but fear took me first. Just standing straight up missteps, slipped and lost balance, free-falling tens of meters from the ground.

My head that plunged first made everything I saw seem upside down, flashed in the blink of an eye. Likewise with the pale-skinned figure and white mane fluttering about, directing both palms towards me. At once I felt no gravity, like swimming in the air. I used that opportunity to flip the body, head back on top. My hair really floated like it was in water. Ah, the daytime atmosphere outside the room, also the face with that serious expression. I'm not confused anymore.

“Sekti ...”

Unsatisfied greeting he had lowered his palm, letting me be affected by gravity again without any preparation. My height from the surface was not much, but my butt that hit the ground first was quite painful.

“You're heavy,” said Sekti briefly, provoking emotions.

“No manners!” reply furious back standing up, “asal you know how good it alludes to women's weight!”

“Can't you thank me? Be thankful it wasn't your head that hit the ground,” he said made me realize.

“Oh, yes, te .. thank you.”

I answered nothing but to watch from the top of my head to my bare feet.

“You look different, Shira. Are you in your deepest subconscious?”

“Haa?” my response did not understand his words.

“Ah, forget it. After the Eagle, now you. Looks like you guys met me one by one to talk about that exit.”

“I'm glad you know soon, Sekti,” I replied in line.

“When you can ask directly from the Eagle who can now read my letters in the ancient book,” reply Sekti.

“Yes, I want to set aside time to discuss, but the busyness in the original world seems to seize many opportunities. Besides, my discussion with him will lead to more bickering, no conclusion.”

“It was a surprise when I thought you two were quite well-matched and compact.”

I was just grinning over everyone else's guess about me and the Eagle being completely wrong, “Unfortunately it's not like that. At least let me hear some information directly from you.”

“I can't tell stories. My job is not a little, but if you ask a question maybe I will help you answer,” said Sekti.

“Really? What is the difference between the occupation by the VOC trade partners and the occupation by the Dutch government itself?”

“I just helped answer related way out of this place, Shira! It's not a test you can't answer!” said Sekti while turning the eyes irritated. I also chuckled softly.

“Once in a while kidding it's okay ‘kan? Sakti not infrequently jokes with me.”

“Cih, I even forgot how to joke!” gerutu Sect. I can't help but smile. It is true, only the appearance of his form is similar to Sakti. His personality and attitude are not.

We stopped in front of a UKS room that was still a mess. This seems to be the work Sekti meant, rebuilding a new room.

“Let me help ya!” myrag.

“No need! It's pretty dangerous, just watch it. Straight to your question,” answered Sekti short-short as if too saving energy to talk. He began to use his telekinesis abilities to rearrange the ruins of the room in its original place.

“Oh yes, is it true that in the third full moon season there will be a gap for the white soul to get out of here?” ask me after successfully climbing a low tree branch not far from him.

“Yes, you can only get through that gap at the expense of the Eagle,” replied Sekti.

“I don't care about that. I mean, the existence of the loophole itself already guarantees a chance to get out of here.”

“Find him? I thought you who have lived here for hundreds of years with cases of lost souls have seen that gap before.”

“I've only seen it once when that stupid Sakti won't go through it.”

“What?”

“Only when Sakti on that day was in front of the light hole like a portal, asked his pledge to let me get stuck here, but Sakti refused,” explained Sekti, as quoted by Reuters, “after that I never saw another portal like that. Souls were lost after we were out of control before the third full moon, before the gap was found.”

Instantly it flashed through my head a terrifying memory of the Eagle that had been caught in the monster nest that day, a great fight that also left him battered. Maybe the previous souls were unlucky because Sakti did not know what to do in that situation. Instantly I felt weak, afraid that in the future I would face a terrible situation again alone without Sakti who had always been the leading shield. I don't want to end before my time.

“Sekti .. can you please do not finish me or the Eagle before the third full moon?” tanyaku plain. I was silent for a moment and looked straight at me.

“To be honest I don't want to kill anyone after or before the third full moon. That monster's power is a curse I can't control. So excuse me, fight, Shira!” answer Sekti then get busy with his work. One side of the wall of the room was successfully arranged, remaining three others.

“By only ever seeing it once, are you really sure that the light portal is a crack to get out of this gray world?”

“I believe it because the gap speaks for itself to Sakti. In addition, the clues I gathered led to the features of the crack.

“Hint?”

“I've collected it in my letters. Next time ask the eagle. There are many hints there.”

“Where did you collect that clue from?”

“From every element in this place. Stone, wood, fog, even an intangible wind often whispered to me.”

“And you ... trust him?”

“If the clues from them are wrong, the demon creator of this place will not likely snatch our book beforehand. The devil knows the truth written in it and is worried we actually get away with it someday, on the day called the turning point.”

“Trip point? Ah, it seems that there are still many things that I do not know about this place,” I replied still confused every time I got a piece of information. The key is in the old book. Argh! If only I could discuss it together!

“It seems you still have a hard time understanding your position as a white soul that must give up a black soul. In order for you to no longer stubbornly want the Eagle to be free from here as well, it's best to talk to Sakti. It used to be that the gap came to him by himself, but why now would it need to be searched? Hope you understand.” quickly

“Sakti didn't say much about it. He just stressed that your story is true without explaining the reason.”

“Why yes? Maybe he feels guilty,” Sekti replied silently with a small grin.

“Taste of guilt?”

“Ask him!”

I fell silent and reabsorbed everything he had said. Tried to get in touch with him myself, but not a single thing I managed to understand.

“Yes, Sect. Every detail of your information is valuable and I should have noted it. I'm not sure I'll remember everything when I wake up!”

“Cih, what happened to your head until you became so forgetful?!” ask Sekti. I'm just smiling.

“Entailah, in fact not everyone can remember intact what they dream, woke up with a feeling of emptiness and confusion.”

“Oh yes?”

I intend to get off the low branch I sat on, jumping from up here. But something I didn't expect happened. The ground that was only a meter below me suddenly disappeared just like that, as if it had turned into a thin cloud of mist that I could not step on. School and school grounds disappeared from view. I dove into a gray, unbrimmed room, constantly drawn inward until the sensation of dizziness and nausea overwhelmed me.
