I woke up this morning feeling very good. There were no nightmares like the night before. Maybe Yasinta was right, I was imagining too much. Moreover, there was no one to provoke a bad atmosphere. I finished PR too. Really fun.
Just the one I'm still thinking about. Where is my novel lost? I've been looking for her at home, but still nothing. I also showed it to Nike, my old friend in the next class, and promised to lend it. Now the novel is out of nowhere.
In addition to the disappearance of my new novel, the ancient book was no less confusing. It suddenly appeared in my bag when my novel disappeared. Could my novel turn into that ancient book? Once again I wanted to talk about it, but Yasinta would definitely not listen to me. Uninterested, I left the ancient book in class. Make what? I can't even read it. I don't know, what's actually written there?
To satisfy my curiosity, I took the book in a reading corner. Open one by one page.
"Yesterday was left in your drawer, Ra," Yasinta said. I just nodded, frowning trying to understand this book. I activated my phone to access information websites, but I found no idea about this book at all.
"I really don't understand" I murmured softly.
"What?" ask Yasinta.
"The characters that this book uses, Yas, I'm trying to figure it out" I replied.
"Aksara?" yasinta asked, looking at the pages of the book, "are you sure? There's not a single scribble here, Ra. I don't understand what you mean."
"What?!"
"This book is empty."
I chuckled softly, "I'm being serious, Yas," I said, then left the bench. Yasinta replied with a question mark full expression. About this matter, I know who to rely on.
I'm approaching Yuanda. He loved the language lessons, whatever the language was. Not once did he win a debate race twice, especially an English debate. I've heard that he has mastered six foreign languages. I showed him the ancient book. He was just flipping through pages.
"Who do you mean, Ra?" he asked, "this book is empty."
I'm choked. I thought Yasinta was just kidding. How could this possibly be? Obviously every page was filled with writing! I rubbed my face, not believing this. I asked some of my other friends. They say the same thing, this book is empty. I feel like an idiot.
Sighing for a moment, I still did not understand this awkwardness, but somehow I had to know what was written in this book. A few lines of sentences have been copied. I made sure the shape of each action was exactly the same, then once again I approached Yuanda.
"If this is what do you think? Do you recognize this language?" my friend showed me a copy. Yuanda watched him for a moment to then shook her head.
"I don't know, Ra," Yuanda replied.
"really? Try to be careful again, I have compared it to the characters used in Russia, it seems similar," I said.
"You mean Cyrillic?"
"Um, yes." I hesitated.
"Not the same, Ra, the Cyrillic script is not like this. I know very little about him. I'm sorry, I can't help you" he replied.
"Oh, all right, thank you."
"Are you okay? It seems to be very important."
"No, no, I'm fine. I'm just curious" I answered half-lying. Of course this is not important and only makes me curious, but I will not be okay when curious.
Me and the Eagle met a glance. The boy's gaze was still as sharp as ever, but I should be grateful that he was more reserved today.
"You have a toothache, Lang? Your jaw looks swollen, huh!" my original words touched and then immediately patted it. "Don't touch!" hisses wirih.
"Eh, sorry! I didn't mean ..." My words stopped to see a bruise on his left jaw.
"You've been fighting, haven't you, Lang?"
Without answering a word the Eagle looked away and went away. For a moment my attention was distracted, but again this ancient book made me upset. Damnit damnit! Even when I was studying, I was still thinking about it. Why am I the only one who can see it? The anomaly kept haunting me until the first break.
For the sake of calming my mind, I wandered to a deserted place in this school. The stairs near the library were my favorite place from long ago. Apparently my feet did not want to stay there, I continued to go up to the second floor, tracing the special building laboratory —laboratoria anything in this second floor building.
The end of the corridor ended near the computer lab, there was a staircase leading down. Under the stairs there is a hallway to the bathroom rooms — approximately there are five bathrooms. According to rumors, the bathroom there is haunted so rarely anyone uses it. As a result, the bathroom here is the most rundown and unmanageable. It looks like it's following the rumors.
But I was never afraid to come here alone. Nothing is more terrifying than a human. Humans are the most terrible creatures, they eat everything, plants, animals, money, even their own friends. Man eats everything, both his own and that of others. To any creature, representing a human being, I apologize.
Five minutes of enjoying the view from above, I went down the stairs, stepping lower and lower. The clearer I heard the sounds from the bathroom hallway. Of course not the sound of ghosts or the laughter of kuntilanak as many people write. All I heard was a soft talk between a few people. I didn't intend to eavesdrop, but it felt suspicious that there was someone in a place like this.
"Damn, I got caught yesterday!"
"Yes, who would have thought that snot boy turned out to be part of the orderly overseer."
"Looks like a new recruit."
"No, he was indeed from the tenth grade to become an orderly overseer, but unlike the other supervisors, he worked in silence. Why do you think Jefri and his gang were kicked out of school?"
Jefri? Oh, the bad boy group that was in DO a month ago because of drug use cases at school.
"That's because the scouts were secretly recording their actions and keeping them. Actually it's been a long time, he's only kept that evidence. Last month he reported the case because Jefri kept making trouble. If Jefri had known, maybe he wouldn't have messed around."
A stakeout? Who do they mean?
"I don't like this fact, but we shouldn't mess with it."
"Cih, that means we bow to the boy? What's-her-name? The hawk?"
The eagle?!
"Yes, my body still hurts after it was slammed yesterday."
"True, it turns out that he also mastered martial arts!"
"From now on we must be careful."
I stepped away. The riddle yesterday afternoon was answered. When the eagle does not return immediately from the toilet. Apparently he's still serving those kids. Likewise with a bruise on his left jaw. I took a long breath. About how chatty he is about the school rules that must be obeyed, no wonder if it turns out he is a member of the order supervisor —the cool term of intelligence that spies on criminals in school.
You strong-ass hawk, summing up everything yourself! However, I can't blame his actions, because even in the best schools in the city, bad kids like that are always there.
.Seriate.
