Don't Take My Son

Don't Take My Son
Excuse me....

Aini sits on the terrace of the mosque on campus after performing the Ashar prayer. When he saw the figure of a man he admired was ablution, he canceled to move from the mushola. The atmosphere of the mosque is not so crowded because the time has shown at four in the afternoon, most of the students have left the campus, only a few classes have just finished college and only a few students come to the mosque to perform Ashar prayers.

He took a pink-colored floral envelope from inside his bag. With a pounding heart he put it back, then he took it out again, until finally the envelope he tucked in a book he held while being held.

He weighed with his heart pounding, should he give the letter to the man who had been worrying about his heart, so that his heart was calm, plong? It turned out that the letter had been in her bag for more than a week. But he hesitated to give it away, afraid it would disappoint him.

" Ane....... Haven't come home?" Aini was surprised to hear a familiar voice. He immediately stood up from his seat with his shocked expression.

" Uh.... I.. Yes Kang, I'm waiting for you, I want to go home with you." He answered while tightly clutching the book on his chest.

"It's done, your father must be waiting for you in his room." Faisal. He had been in a meeting with the dean and the professor and had just finished almost four in the afternoon.

" Uh... Oh... Ja. Then I'll go first, Kang." Aini said in a hurry until he forgot his intention to give a letter to Faisal. But before he entered his father's office building, he turned around, remembering his intention to give Faisal his letter. His determination was unanimous to convey his feelings even if only through a letter. He waited for Faisal to walk towards him.

"Kang Faisal's...... It's....." Aini handed over her letter, making Faisal wrinkle his brows.

"For Kang Faisal, read it later." Say this with a vibrating voice. Don't ask her heart is beating fast. Then he immediately turned around leaving Faisal. Faisal looked at the pink envelope in his hand, then put it in his pocket.

Until Faisal returned to his boarding place, he was curious about the envelope Aini gave him, what it contained, his inner self. While sitting on the edge of his bed he opened the envelope, there were two sheets of letter paper filled with Aini's writing. He also read it straight away.

Twice he read the letter in disbelief even though he could already suspect Aini's feelings towards him. Can't believe that Aini dared to reveal it, and this is what she was afraid of.

During this time he was comfortable interacting with the girl, jolly, nice to be invited to discussions, kind, supple, attentive as well, but he considered her nothing more than a friend, but he considered her to be, although he felt the attention given by Aini was different, clearly Aini liked it but Faisal never responded. And now inevitably he had to respond to a letter from Aini, either the answer he accepted or rejected Aini's feelings.

After a long pondering while sitting on the edge of the bed Faisal finally folded the letter from Aini and kept it in his locker cabinet. The decision has been unanimous, now is not the time to have an escort. He should focus on his S2 education in Germany which he will live in about 2 months. Tomorrow he will meet Aini and answer her letter directly. Aini will definitely be disappointed, but it is better to be disappointed now than Aini will continue to hope for him and maybe his disappointment will deepen.

The next day finished activities at the campus Faisal drove his motorbike to Aini's house, Wednesday was the schedule he studied German with Aini. Aini's father who asked Aini to teach Faisal at Aini's house, of course at home not only the two of them, there is Aini's mother as well as a household assistant who helped supervise their activities.

When Faisal arrived at Aini's house, Aini was already at home, even had a bath and dressed up as beautiful and weathered as possible. But this time there is a different, Aini looks more calm when welcoming the arrival of Faisal.

"Please enter Kang." That's all he said, usually he would immediately bully Faisal with a few questions, this time after Faisal sat in the living room he went straight inside and came back again with a glass of cold drink and a few jars of snacks.

His chest raged, with mixed feelings, shame, fear of disappointment, regret why he was so brave to express his feelings, to condemn himself as a shameless woman. But the rice had become porridge, the letter had reached Faisal's hands and he might even have read it, and now he must be ready to accept Faisal's answer must also be ready to be disappointed if Faisal refused it.

"So college until what time? I don't see it in mushola." Faisal asked opened the conversation. Usually they will meet at the campus mosque and Aini will definitely greet Faisal first.

"Until eleven." Aini answered briefly, really like it wasn't Aini, and Faisal felt it. Is it because of yesterday's letter? Inner Faisal. Coming home early is also not a very Aini, usually he will spend his time on campus even though there are no lecture hours, at least after the new dhuhur prayer he will go home.

"If the correction is wrong." Add again when Aini is still silent, usually Aini will immediately exemplify the correct pronunciation but this time Faisal who took the initiative first. And this afternoon's meeting became a meeting that felt strange to Faisal, Aini really didn't say much and looked awkward. He hesitated to answer Aini's letter. But if delayed will even give the impression he gave hope to Aini.

"Here....there's something I want to talk about, you still have time right? You mean not busy?" Faisal said after his study session was over. And Aini's heart was beating fast again, he looked groggy, could already guess what Faisal was going to talk about, must be related to his letter yesterday. It felt like he wanted to disappear from before Faisal, if only time could be turned he would not give his letter to Faisal, let it be just an expression of his feelings that only he and God knew.

"eu... What does this have to do with yesterday's letter? Eu...... If so, let's just say the letter doesn't exist, and doesn't need to be answered, ma. sorry I've been sassy with Kang Faisal." Aini replied with a slight nervousness, a look of regret on her face. He was ashamed of his courage. If you can not discuss the contents of the letter, it does not need to be answered inwardly anymore

"Yes yesterday's letter, I read it..... I'll just ask for a minute, let's both taste good." Faisal paused for a moment, turning to the living room that was only blocked by the display cabinet, his mother Aini and his housekeeper were nowhere to be seen. Aini was just silent, her two hands were cold to each other, trying to eliminate her nervousness.

"Thank you for paying attention to me, thank you for being honest. I'm sorry, I can't reciprocate Aini's feelings, honestly I haven't thought of having a companion alive, there are still many targets of my dreams that I haven't achieved, I have not achieved, and the current target I want to focus on is my education in Germany." Faisal sighed, glancing towards Aini who was looking down while playing his finger.

Aini since last night had expected Faisal's answer, even he had prepared his heart if Faisal's answer was not in accordance with his expectations. But for some reason his heart was so sore at the moment, this was the first time he felt rejected, even though this was not the first time he felt in love with someone, but he was never rejected, there he rejected the men who liked him, he also broke off the relationship with his first love during High School.

Aini tried to restrain herself not to dissolve in emotions, can not cry, there should be no tears. It's not Faisal's fault, it's his fault that he can't harbor his feelings. He started even though he could suspect Faisal did not have any feelings for him. But still his heart felt sore.

"I also don't want to give you any vague hope. God has made our soul mate even before we were born. And I believe God will move us with our soul mate when the time comes. Do not wait for me, if someday Aini has found the right mate, accept it. God willing it's best for Aini." Faisal's words further showed that there was no hope for Aini. In his letter Aini did say willing to wait for Faisal until Faisal finished his S2 lecture in Germany, but Faisal had clearly answered that Aini did not wait for him. Isn't that a subtle rejection?

"Once again sorry..... I'm sorry Aini, I hope you can get my answer and we're still friends, right?" With regret Faisal apologized again, he realized that he had hurt Aini, but how else, at this time he was not ready to have a companion, on his Thursday there was no such thing as dating, if he accepts Aini's meal he must be ready to justify it and it's not in his plan at all.

Aini tried hard, did not show her sadness, when Faisal said goodbye he tried to smile, fortunately he could hold back his tears did not come out even though inside his chest was already turbulent wanted to scream, wanted to spill with a cry, he said, but he managed to hold.

After Faisal launched his motorbike, he went straight into his room, locked it and spilled his tears, his favorite pillow wet with tears.

Seriate......
