Dandelions
53. Fragilely

A bottle of cold juice Tera proffered, "Pacify yourself first. After that you can tell me everything." This time his tone sounded soft, trying to calm the ruby-eyed iris youth.

Hali just nodded in response to her. A heavy breath began their long conversation. Tera explains in detail everything that happened to Typhoon.

"The coma hurricane." His entire muscles and joints stiffened. But he knew he had to stay strong.

"He was critical. When he arrived at the hospital, his heart stopped. Luckily his heart rate could return. And now he's in a coma. The doctors can't tell you when he's gonna wake up."

Really, his tongue was too faint to speak, even if it was the real truth. Hali seemed to be reminded again with the condition of the Hurricane that never improved until this moment.

As soon as he felt it. Feeling failed with her duties as a sister, she also failed to protect her sister. Moreover, with his aba he had been all this time, making the feeling of guilt even more obvious.

"After I lost both my parents, should I also lose Typhoon?" Hali said slowly, sounding a sigh after her.

Over and over again he got up, trying to be tough and stay strong. But he still can't handle it. He still could not feel the loss anymore.

"And all this because of that fucking psychopath!" Shouted Hali hatefully. His hands clenched firmly, emotions came back to him.

"He kept chasing us. I'm afraid that once he's free, he'll come back to our family. It could be after Ken or me. I can't imagine if that happened. All this time my only goal of survival was for Ken and Typhoon. If they don't exist I might..."

"Sstt, that's enough. Everything's gonna be fine. Don't think negatively." Tera's outstretched hand pulled the young man's body into his embrace. Give her warmth to just calm her down.

Lent her shoulders for a moment to lean on. He knows Hali is tired. He was also quite surprised, but as much as possible he controlled himself. He was reminded of his late cousin who died in the fire. He left three sons at a very young age.

During this time they live alone, there has been a lot of suffering and loss that they experience. Moreover, Hali as the eldest who is now like the head of the family for his two younger siblings.

"After the investigation is completed, the court will take a decision immediately. I'll try to get him a proper punishment."

"I'm scared om!" At such a young age, Hali has been introduced to loss, great responsibility and unreasonable situations. And for the first time he heard Hali complain to him. Before this he never once heard the grievance of the young man.

But everyone has their limits. As powerful as that person is, one day it will inevitably fall into fragility. And it seems that at this time Hali spilled everything he had been holding all this time.

"You guys just calm down, okay? He won't be able to touch you. I'll make sure of that. "

It turned out that his fear that Hali experienced was the same as that of Ken. Terrible fear of losing each other.

*****

He had read a writing. When someone is lying in the ICU, he is betting between the borders of two worlds.

Between life and death. Maybe because it is also what makes the atmosphere around him feel gripping.

It took great courage for Ken to set foot there, where there was always a loud buzz at all times. But all of those feelings were reciprocated when he was able to meet the older brother.

He walked over to the figure lying on one of the beds there. Typhoon is still sleeping on his sickly bed. He refused to open his eyes for a moment to look at himself.

He always hoped that the figure would open his eyes when he visited, showing his cheerful smile like before.

Without the cheerful mask, Typhoon looked like a boy. She looked small and fragile in a blue blanket. Until Ken did not dare to touch it, afraid to make him feel pain even in his silence.

"Wake up dong kak. Sis Typhoon dream what the hell, kok at home so much sleep."

Ken squashed down, landing his head on the edge of the bed while looking at the side face of Typhoon. "No typhoon? Lately, Kak Hali seems very depressed again. Often go home at night. Not from campus. Though I'm sure he's putting the Hurricane here." Upset Ken with his contrived expression. He snorted his breath irritated like a crumbling little boy.

Although Typhoon was unconscious, Ken somehow felt sure he was being noticed from somewhere. "I know, Mr. Hali is so because he doesn't want to make me anxious. Kak Hali made it look like everything was all right. I feel guilty for having Hali endure it all herself. If there is a sister Taufan can certainly make Kak Hali laugh.. or even rampage huh?" Ken chuckled softly. He recalled the memories of the past where the Typhoon always punished the firstborn, until it made him angry. Even so, his sister never tired of judging Hali.

Remembering that, Ken remembered the past.

"But Mr. Taufan has nothing to worry about.

This morning I managed to make Hali laugh, even if only for a moment. I tried to hide my sadness so that Hali did not come to think of her. It's as if Kak Hali can focus on the same condition as Kak Taufan."

"Makanya kak Typhoon cepet wake up. Let's go out together, okay?"

The door of the room that was slowly opening revealed the chaotic figure of Hali. His eyes were puffy, his gaze was not even able to look straight ahead and seemed empty Ken who realized the presence of his brother was immediately surprised to find a blushing bruise on his right cheek.

"Sir Hali! Where's Hali from? What's sister's face?" Panic Ken demanded an explanation but was not at all understood.

With a gontai move Hali approached the bed where Taufan was still faithful in his jampejam. He looked at the figure with a wound full of eyes.

The skin was still pale as in the past, the blue eyes that some days did not show themselves made him miss the jolly figure that always warms his heart.

The dry lips that often comment on the smile also lose their color. What if he can't see her anymore? Those blue eyes, that smile.

He misses the noisy figure so much, the sound of his bells that lately re-coloured his day.

Patient monitors that form an up and down line are proof that there is still life in that body. The voice that accompanied the instrument seemed to play the melody of the terrible angel of death.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry Typhoon."

He sobbed beside the body of Typhoon, spilling all the guilt that had occupied the bottom of his heart in tears.

"I'm sorry I haven't been able to be a good brother to you. Please, wake up. Don't go." Seeing the fragile figure of his older brother made Ken's defense crumble. His tears were not able to hold until he finally broke along with the roaring cries of Hali.

He was only able to hold that sturdy body in his arms. Sharing pain and suffering. He did not know how heavy his brother's burden was until the toughest man he had ever known could fall to the lowest point and look miserable like this.

There should be an old man accompanying the hardest moments of their lives. Being a backrest when tired and a place to complain when they can not keep it themselves.

Hali's body suddenly squeezed, its strength as if it was airborne leaving his body without any consciousness in it. Letting the darkness take over.

He paid for a short break, leaving all the problems that burdened him for a while.

Without anyone noticing, a single tear fell through the cheek. The storm was crying in silence. In the midst of unconsciousness that drowned him, making him unable to see the surface.
