Dandelions
33. Choices

The sky darkens as time goes by. Street lights began to light up, illuminating the road as well as inviting insects to approach. At least that is visible from behind the clear glass of a window, showing a view of the outside world that night.

A young man still faithfully sits in a room while facing a laptop. 2 pieces of canned coffee has been used up in his drink to eliminate sleepiness that attacks him. His eyes continued to focus on the laptop screen and his hands continued to type words there, although sometimes he clucked because of the typo.

Although it looks focused, but his mind is focused on other places, precisely the condition of Typhoon and Ken at home. A long sigh was released, signifying his frustration. His hands stopped typing, his eyes just staring blankly at the laptop screen.

For a long time he was washed away in his daydream until he was unaware of Khai's presence beside him. The man who had been a good friend of Hali since he was a child sighed to see his best friend. Already many times he had called out his name, but the red beaded youth still did not respond to him.

No!

"Ouch! sick woy!" As soon as he got the news from his best friend.

"It's your fault that I call nyaut."Sembur Khai is upset.

Hali only sighed and resumed his work, ignoring Khai who started to grumble indistinctly.

" New project?" Ask Khai.

Without taking his eyes off, Hali exhaled a coarse breath. "Bantuin lecturer. What are you doing here yourself?"

Khai wanted to pull up the chair next to Hali and sit himself there, drinking a can of soda that he bought earlier. "There is a new practicum. By the way since when did you become a lecturer assistant?"

His breath was rough. Now his hands really stopped typing and turned to look at his insensitive friend. " Who wants to be an Ashdos? Ribet knows not." In a doldrums he took the drink that had been brought by Khai and drank it until half was left.

"But notice you're rich, the final-level students know."

Khai watched his friend. Clear-looking eye bags make her eyes look like pandas, plus a lethargic face may be due to insomnia or anemia.

"Go home, my face is lethargic rich zombies that never sleep. Do not push yourself too much, at least you must pay attention to your own condition. If you're sick who's gonna take care of Typhoon and Ken later?"

Khai's words made Hali want to laugh. Of course he knows it, even understands it very well. But unfortunately he had to continue to survive in the game of life. It could have been that he had gone after both of his parents, but he had always thrown away that thought. There's no way he left when his two younger siblings still needed him.

"The rich man has a trauma, he recovers quickly. She also started school, although I was still worried and kept remembering that she was taking medicine. Of course I can't help Ken do that, so I have to do it myself."

Khai rests his head on the surface of the table. "Then, how's your relationship with Ken?"

Hali stopped her activities. He stared fixedly at the iris of his best friend's eyes. As soon as he thought, was his best friend psychic? Or just a coincidence?

The lips were tightly closed not answering. His memory goes back to what happened this morning, when he accidentally snapped at Ken because of his attitude. That incident also continued to disturb his mind earlier.

"It seems you can guess." The iris of the eyes glanced at the face of her best friend, guessing what answer she would give.

Hali again drank his drink, soaking his dry throat, before returning to speak. "We had a fight this morning. He cursed Typhoon and beat it to the killer. I shouldn't be surprised by his attitude. Because Ken clearly hates the Typhoon. But his attitude this time was too late. He even dared to fight me while reprimanding her. I didn't know she'd be that disappointed with my change of attitude."

Hali slightly massaged her temples out of frustration.

Khai was silent hearing that. He was trying to find the right words to say.

"Let's just say you saw your own attitude when you still hated Typhoon." Said Khai Lirih while glancing at his best friend.

"You can now accept the Typhoon because of the pain and suffering it has been hiding all along. That probably won't work for Ken. Maybe you can give her understanding little by little to make her make up her mind. And whatever the decision will be, you have to accept it too. "

"ah one more, whatever Ken's choice later, you also do not have to choose love. I know it's hard, but you also have to accept and appreciate it."

Khai got up from his seat, patted Hali's still-silent shoulder and walked away from her. "I went home first, pity Arga was waiting at home. You don't come home too late either."

Hali just nodded slowly. His mind was still spinning repeating the words that Khai said earlier.
