CURTAINS OF THE PAST

CURTAINS OF THE PAST
WHOSE AUNT?

*I thought I was a big soul.

My mind is wrong...

Whereas with people buried alone, I can feel jealousy because of it.

Iffah did introduce me as the husband she loved right now, but her silence after that, made me feel disappointed.

Did he just want to exaggerate my heart? By praising me in front of his Arjun tomb, can he pretend to think?

Why is he still staring at the roar of the waves on this coast?

Are there so many memories created in their past?

I'm jealous...

And if anyone asks me how big my jealousy is right now, I won't be able to answer 'a little', like him if I ask 'how much?'...

My jealousy does not mean Iffah, but how can I survive with someone who still embraces his past?

If it wants to let go, it's a lot worse for me than I pretend that everything's okay*...

"Offaah?" Someone who happened to pass by came to Iffah who was still fixated on staring at the open sea in front of him.

"Loh, Bi Rumi..." Sahut Iffah was a little surprised to find someone he knew in the village.

"Iffaahh, it turns out this is you, son. Oh my God, Auntie is so happy to see you again in this state of health. Though Aunt thought you'd be like your husband Arjuna and be the victim of your stepmother's crime." The woman called Bi Rumi by Iffah hugged her so tightly.

"I-I mean Bi Rumi, the crime of my stepmother? What's wrong with my mom Bi?" Iffah was so shocked to hear the middle-aged woman's statement. He released himself from the woman's arms. His eyes stared intently.

Toni was only stunned to see his wife meet someone there, she only looked a few meters behind Iffah.

Toni also did not really hear what the stranger was talking about with his wife. The rumbling sound of the waves overcame the voices of the conversation between the two women in front of him.

"Who is that woman? Why does he look so familiar with Iffah? Does Iffah recognize him?" All the questions raged in Toni's mind. But Toni did not want to disturb the mood of his wife at that time.

Iffah was seen covering his mouth that had gaped with both palms. His round eyes immediately indicated that his wife was getting no better since the woman came.

The woman continued to chatter long, and Toni was unable to hear their conversation.

Seeing that Iffah had reached tears, Toni decided to approach there with a little running.

"Offah, what's wrong?" He nodded while embracing Iffah's shoulder. Iffah's body trembled in Toni's arms. And that made Toni even more worried about his wife.

The middle-aged woman who had been with Iffah, was astonished to see Toni who was foreign to him embrace Iffah's shoulder.

"You're not Ghali, are you?" He asked while pointing at Toni and looking fixed on Toni's face as if to ensure his vision. "Who is he?" Ask again while facing Iffah.

"Whose aunt? Why is my wife so shocked to hear Aunt's story from now on? What did Auntie tell him?" Toni repeatedly questioned the middle-aged woman who was with her Iffanya almost earlier.

"Your wife? What do you mean say Iffah is your wife? Iffa... Explain to Aunt, is he really your husband?" The woman did not answer Toni's questions, but questioned them.

"Antoni, can you take me home?" Iffah's voice sounded roaring and vibrating behind his increasingly firmer puff.

"All right..." Toni.

Toni took off the sweater that was attached to her body and then wrapped it around Iffah's shoulder. They passed by and ignored the middle-aged woman who kept trying to get answers from them.

Although Toni does not yet know what the answer is and why his wife is like that, but he does not want to immediately question it. Toni was afraid of disturbing her feelings at that time.
