CURTAINS OF THE PAST

CURTAINS OF THE PAST
APPROACHING THE WEDDING

“Are you happy, Son?.” Chellin came over to Toni who was still in the back yard of her house.

Toni sighed so greedily, then smiled in welcome of the middle-aged woman she had recently called her mama.

“Mama, can I be honest with mama?” Toni grabbed Chellin's right hand and played him so spoiled.

“Hmm? Say...” Pinta Chellin with a smile while gently stroking Toni's cheek.

“Actually every time Toni wears a long shirt, Toni inclines it not because she wants to look cool. But because Toni can't flank her arm buttons.” Toni said with a face flushed with embarrassment. “Toni can't even do anything without papa.”

“Will mom do it this once for Toni?.” Pintanya.

Chellin smiled and then grabbed Toni's arm that was still clutching her right hand. “Even mama hope not for this once, son. But, soon Iffah will do everything for you.

Prepare all your needs. Hmmm Mama is envious.”

“Although we met at your adult age, but in fact, mama seemed to have given birth to you in a previous life. Thank you dear, for giving mama a chance to be a mother.”

After the buttons of both of his sleeves were attached, Toni grabbed Chellin's body and held him tightly together.  “Thank you again mama..” Whisper while landing a kiss on his mother's head.

“Although after marriage, I will not let our son go from here. So stop dramatizing.” Chellin and Toni are shocked to hear Bobi's voice suddenly approaching them.

Chellin rubbed the thin tears in her eyes.

“We will only add family members, Chellin. Don't cry.” Said again. Toni floated her grinning smile at the couple who became her parents.

“This you, I'm just crying happily. Our son is getting married today, dear.” Firmly Chellin while floating friendly pinch to Bobi's waist.

“May happiness always be with you, Nak.” Bobi hugged Toni. A drop of clear water fell from his eye patch, but he immediately brushed it back off.

“Thanks, pa.” Said Toni and enjoyed the embrace of Bobi who was already a father to her. Toni feels like she's in Bram's arms, her biological father. Which has cost a lot of life for him and a lot

his beloved.

“Which grandmother Ma?” Toni thought of her Grandma who was not seen from earlier.

“So Mama to Grandma's room, Grandma is a little unwell dear.” Toni looks worried to hear the words Chellin “Go see him, after that meet your family from the village. They arrived at dawn.”

“Oh, yes Ma. But Toni wants to invite Milka to meet Grandma, Grandma must also miss Milka.” Toni said as she left Bobi and Chellin.

“Assalamu’alaikum.” Toni stands in front of the pavilium door next to his house which is temporarily inhabited by his family from the village.

“Pappaaah” Milka running squandered her tiny body clutches Toni who had been crouched waiting for her.

“Hmmmm the beautiful papa has come apparently.” Toni showered Milka's head with her kiss as she drew closer to her family.

“Alhamdulillah, thank you Idris, om Agung, brother Adan... And you are also Kemil. You guys already want to take the time to come to my show.” Speech touched.

“Ah, you don't need to thank Ton. We are family..” Sahut Agung fast.

“Yes, that's right Ton. It's a big day for you. And we want to witness for ourselves the happiness that emanates on your face.” Timpal Ramdani.

“I am so moved..” Toni looks sparkling to trace the sincerity that is implied in every eye of her family.

“Are you happy, Son?” Maya sits up to Toni and gently strokes her daughter's best friend's shoulder.

“Aunty question is the same as Mama Chellin's question. Toni is happy Tan, but somehow there is a feeling of anxiety in Toni's heart at this time.” Toni lowered her head.

“That's what a bride-to-be feels like before marriage, Ton. Maybe you're just nervous.” Rahma calmed her husband's nephew.

“Hopefully yes, Tan. You're worried Toni is too much from last night. Even Toni had a hard time sleeping for a few nights.” Reveal Toni while throwing her breath away.

“Say Mama Chellin, Grandma is not feeling well Om. Toni wants to see Grandma first with Milka. He must have missed Milka too.”

“Since when did Grandma get sick Ton?” Ask Kemil to worry.

“Evening is fine Kok Kemil. Mama Chellin just said it.” Toni.

“Yes already, go see your grandmother first. We'll catch up with you there. We also want to meet him.” Said the Great while telling Toni to hurry.

“Good Om. Toni go there first.” His mouth carried Milka out of the pavilion.
