Code 810 - Running to Stay Alive
Chapter Seven

After detectives Egan and Keiko get the address where the last place of the monitoring bracelet is located, through Aris's phone to their respective phones and both of them immediately slide to the designated location.

on their way to the address of the house, the two discussed what might happen and what they would do when they got to the place they were headed because they knew it is true that they will be dealing with an assassin who is likely to act to the extreme.

Not to mention the possibility that the suspect has a sharp weapon or may also have a rifle that could have injured one of them or maybe even both.

They stopped and parked the car they were driving in a parking lot that is quite large provided by the housing developer because it seems like every house there is no one who has a carport keep their bodies in front of their houses exactly.

When they got there, they only realized that the houses there were a collection of several four-story buildings with a rigid box shape.

Not a house in general but also not an apartment as it is usually more like a small apartment in European style.

Detectives Egan and Keiko walk quickly to the house whose address Aris has given to their cell phones.

The address given by Aris took them to one of the buildings there and it turned out that the address was on the lowest floor of the building.

The house looks quiet and closed as if there is no activity in it is not much different from other houses in the neighborhood.

Detective Egan knocks on the door of the house but there is no answer from the inside at all but seconds later from inside the house they both hear the sound of a falling object which makes the two detectives suspect that there's actually someone in there.

Because they are worried that there are still other victims held captive in the house, detective Egan was intentional to break down the door of the house.

BRACKET!

“POLICE!!“ detective Egan shouted as soon as the door opened with a one-off attempt at a break-in.

From the back of the house there was a person who ran through the back door and quickly detective Keiko whose position was closer to the kitchen also ran to chase after the person.

Detective Keiko could still see the person's back during the chase but it turned out that the person was running very fast and added to the fact that he better understood the conditions and knew the layout of the houses in the area makes it able to slip easily between the rows of houses there.

When detective Keiko arrives at a large field still in the residential area she realizes that she has already lost track of the target being pursued by her.

“Where is he?“ detective Egan asks who just came a split second later who also ran but he took the initiative to chase through the front door hoping to ambush the suspect from the opposite side.

“She's gone,” detective Keiko answered briefly while managing her breath which was still panting for forcing herself to run with the maximum kutn she had.

“Gue can not keep up with his run. he is very sparse,” said detective Keiko still can not control himself.

Detective Keiko's face began to look blue because the supply of oxygen entering his lungs was not enough.

The worried Detective Egan immediately sustains his partner's body and he leads detective Keiko to sit on the grass.

“Kei's slow down, set your breath well,” Detective Egan tried to give direction to his partner so as not to panic which could eventually make the situation worse.

Detective Keiko followed the directions given by her partner and as expected both of them now face detective Keiko back reddened indicating that the supply of oxygen to her lungs has returned to normal and her breathing has indeed started to regular again.

“Let's go back to the car first, Kei. You still need to rest for a while,” detective Egan said while helping his partner stand up.

“But what about our suspect?“ detective Keiko feels guilty because she was the one who lost track of the suspect during the chase.

“That we take care of later. Now the important thing is that you recover first, I want to contact Birdella so that she can come here and see the crime scene here,” said detective Egan who now leads detective Keiko who is still quite difficult to walk even though he continues to try to bring his own.

“Do we need to call Birdella here?“ detective Keiko asks as she tries to get into the car they parked quite far from the field where they last lost a suspect, of course detective Keiko is assisted by detective Egan.

“Isn't it likely this place is the last place the victim is still alive. I think not only Birdella needs to come here to check, even the team she also needs to come here,” said detective Egan while giving a tumbler filled with warm water that he always carries in the car every day to detective Keiko who is looking for the most comfortable position for him at this time.

“This time tumbler lo this one akhinya no use also yes, gan.“ detective Keiko said when receiving the tumbler and drinking warm water in it.

“Lo rest for a while, Kei while we wait for Birdella and her team here,” detective Egan said after laughing at detective Keiko's previous remarks which were true because all this time the tumbler always came down with them every time they returned to their office but not once and no one drinks it.

Detective Egan also helped his partner lower the position of the passenger seat backrest in the driver's seat so that detective Keiko could fall even though it was not in maximum condition.

After making sure that the position of detective Keiko is quite comfortable, detective Egan finally took his cellphone from the back of his pants pocket and squeezed Birdella's number from the list of contacts he often contacts.

“Birdella is here!“ birdella said as her tone stopped and changed with her voice.

“Dell it's me, Egan. I think I need you and your team to make it here soon,” said detective Egan replied to a remark from Birdella across there.

“Send the address to my other phone, me and the team will be there as soon as possible,” reply Birdella and after that immediately disconnect the phone between the two.
