Code 810 - Running to Stay Alive
Chapter Thirty

“It looks like you guys have to go to the hospital now,” Brox told detectives Egan and Keiko who just got to their room.

“To the hospital?“ ask detective Egan.

“Hospital where Brian was taken by the medical team?“ ask detective Keiko.

“Betul. Brian is conscious,” replied Mr. Brox.

“Brian congratulations? He didn't lose his life?“ detective Egan doesn't believe it.

“I'm just as surprised as you are but that's the reality,” continued Mr. Brox.

“Gue doesn't want to admit it but it looks like detective Abraham is a sharpshooter,” detective Keiko told his partner.

“I was also worried that he would make Brian lose his life but it turns out I was wrong to think,” said Mr. Brox.

“Should we admire him at this time,” detective Egan feels a little disturbed.

Upon arriving by detectives Egan and Keiko at the hospital, they see Brian still lying on one of the hospital beds with an infusion on both hands at once.

His face and body were now clean until the wounds in the area were now exposed, looking very clearly.

“How are you Brian?“ detective Keiko asked them to open their conversation.

Brian who was grimacing initially endured the pain in his back tried to make himself as if in a fine condition.

“Just make sure your pleasantries get here,” replied Brian.

“We are a community that has an adab so we have to give greetings as a form of our respect to others,” replied detective Egan.

“What do you mean, you respect me?! Cih!!“ Brian replies to detective Egan's reply.

Detective Egan who blatantly ignored Brian's remarks immediately asked the suspect questions in the case of the disappearance of five people in different places.

“So who gave the order to you?“

Brian shifted his body slightly and turned his face towards the window trying to avoid the gaze of detectives Egan and Keiko.

“I don't understand what you mean.“

“It's Brian, just end your charade. We already know that there is someone who sends you money every time you lose someone's life. Who are you protecting?” detective Egan tries to encourage Brian to confess.

“Again you we have caught. Not that you should have to admit it,” said detective Keiko.

“I, caught by you guys?“ asked Brian in a tone as if in disbelief.

“Maybe you can not accept your defeat but you must be able to learn to accept it,” continued detective Egan with a condescending tone.

“I was here just because someone complained to me,” Brian said cynically.

“Confuse you? Who do you mean?“ ask detective Keiko.

“People contacted you when I rented that time,” replied Brian while looking at detective Egan.

“You mean, there's someone who wants to pretend to be a hit man?“ ask detective Egan.

“Iya. He pretended to be me and wanted you to follow me, ” Brian replied in anger.

“You should know Brian, you are charged with the disappearance of five people and it is very heavy,” detective Keiko said.

“All depends on you Brian. Whether you want to cooperate with us or not,” continued detective Keiko.

“You're threatening me?“ ask Brian.

“How dare we threaten someone who has already lost five lives like you. We only offer help to you,” replied detective Egan.

“With you mentioning who is behind this all, who is paying you we can help you,” continued detective Keiko.

“We can ensure that you will spend the rest of your long life in prison and not directly meet the angel of death,” continued detective Egan.

“I am a person who does the job very professionally,” Brian replied.

Detective Egan walks around the patient's bed being used by Brian and sits on the side of the bed squeezing his own hands together.

“Why are you so trying so hard to protect the people who pay you?“ ask detective Egan.

“Looks like you're deaf huh detective. I have already said that I am a very professional person,” Brian repeated the words but this time in a trifling tone.

“Coop with us Brian,” persuade detective Keiko.

“Trust me, it is not you who help me but instead, I who will help you,” Brian said.

“Sorry but I don't understand what you mean,” Detective Keiko replied.

“There is one more victim that you don't seem to have found yet,” Brian said with a sharp look and a grin on his face that was painted again that honestly made detective Keiko goosebumps.

“You mean, you lost six human lives?“ detective Egan is trying to validate.

“It is not wrong if you are chosen as a detective. You're smart,” welcome Brian to give a compliment to detective Egan.

“How can I trust?“ ask detective Egan again.

“Didn't you say you checked my account? Don't you feel like something's not right?!“ Brian presents a challenge to detectives Egan and Keiko.

“If kakian really wants to know who hired my services and what is the reason you can find all the answers in this victim,” continued Brian.

“Why can it be like that?“ detective Keiko was getting curious.

“Because this one victim is my first job before you finally find the other five,” Brian replied lightly and happy expression as if he had done a proud thing.

Both detective Egan and detective Keiko exchange views trying to telepathize and find answers to Brian's request.

“Where can we find that one victim?“ detective Egan is trying to get information from Brian.

“You think I will answer that question!?“ said Brian who knows very well what the meaning of the question posed by detective Egan.

“Lantas what do you want?“ ask detective Egan again.

“I will take you straight to that place. After all I prefer to walk while breathing fresh air rather than lingering in jail,” said Brian.

Once detective Egan glances at his partner, detective Keiko tries to get an opinion from his partner.

“You said if I complained about who hired my services to eat I could get a life sentence instead of a death sentence. I think I can enjoy my last walk by taking you to where my first victim was,” Brian continued.

Detective Keiko walked over to Brian's bed while dragging a chair and sitting on it right next to Brian's bed.

“We can obey your will but you have to remember one thing, if you try to escape from us, then there will be no mercy for you. Because shooting a suspect who tried to escape was something the court could tolerate,” threatened detective Keiko with a voice she lowered.
