While detective Keiko is being bewitched by the fingernails in Brian's hand inside the interrogation room, a tremor in his pants pocket leaves detective Egan divided.
Detective Egan reached into his pants pocket and tried to reach for his cell phone which continued to make vibrations.
“With detective Egan here,” detective Egan said as he answered the call.
“Hello detective Egan, I am Sasa from the law division you asked for please,” replied to a voice on the phone.
“Oh yes, how is Sasa, what suspect lawyer on my case has confirmed his arrival here?“ ask detective Egan.
“That's the problem yes detective, I have contacted him since earlier and it turns out that number is no longer connected,” replied Sasa.
“Is the phone number of the suspect lawyer replace?“ ask detective Egan, “ I'll try asking my suspect again.“
“No need detective. I had asked another division to check the phone number you gave and it turns out that number has not been connected for a long time because the lawyer of your suspect has died since eight years ago,” Sasa gives more than what detective Egan needs and he is very grateful to Sasa who is one step ahead giving information to him.
After ending his conversation with Sasa and ending his second phone call, detective Egan taps a two-way mirror in front of him asking his partner, who is, detective Keiko to get out of the interrogation room and meet him in the monitoring room next door.
It was not long before detective Keiko was in the monitoring room and standing right next to detective Egan.
“Law division has contacted me,” detective Egan said.
“So when does Brian's lawyer come?“ ask detective Keiko.
“Brian's lawyer will never come,” replied detective Egan.
Detective Keiko was obviously shocked to hear the reply from his partner and the two asked, “What kind of lawyer does not attend the call from his client?“
“Dead lawyer!“ detective Egan answered.
Detective Keiko's shock grew when she heard the reply from her partner.
Behind the one-way mirror, the two detectives were able to look at Brian who was very confident and several times smiled into the mirror as if he was admiring himself.
“Either he does not know about his lawyer who is not there or he is trying to buy time,” said detective Egan while continuing to watch the movement of the wrong move.
“Or actually he was playing us, ” said detective Keiko who realized every move made by Brian as if showing incredible confidence.
“As safe as he can be as confident as that!?“ detective Egan said.
“How about I answer, she has that confidence since she was in her mother's womb?!“ detective Keiko's revenge.
“Really answers very confident person,” retorts detective Egan.
“Then what should we do now?“ ask detective Keiko.
Detective Egan does not answer the question and instead steps out of the room and then appears in the interrogation room in place of detective Keiko who is realized by detective Egan began to waver his condition while examining Brian inside interrogation room.
“Where was your beautiful colleague earlier?“ ask Brian.
“There, he is resting,” replied detective Egan.
“Wire? Is it so exhausting for her to chat with me?!“ brian said with full confidence.
“Oh no, but the lunch time will arrive soon, ” detective Egan gave a false answer.
“I even forgot what day it is, what time and what date. Looks like I've been in this place for too long,” replied Brian.
“Do you also know that your lawyer has been dead since eight years ago?“ ask detective Egan to Brian.
Brian was silent for a moment while looking up at the ceiling of the interrogation room and without any expression he replied, “Is my lawyer really dead? Sorry I really forgot.“
“You also forgot that it took the life of someone named Sephia?“ ask detective Egan again.
“Who is Sephia?“ ask Brian back to Detective Egan.
“A woman you lost her life in your rented house and you dumped her body on the running track in the city park,” Detective Egan replied trying to intimidate Brian.
“There was a woman who lost her life in my contract?“ brian asked as if shocked to hear what detective Egan had to say.
“Come Brian. Admit what you've done to Sephia and some of the other women,” detective Egan replied.
“I really don't understand what you mean detective. You and your colleague asked the same question and the answer I will give remains the same.“
“We have found strong evidence that you did some disappearances there. 'Your 'workplace' is very messy, even though you have worked hard to clean it believe that under blue light it is still very visible even with the naked eye,” once again detective Egan tries to intimidate Brian with all the evidence they can on the rented house Brian rents.
Although hoping Brian will be cornered and admit to his actions, but it turns out that detective Egan's hope was destroyed when he saw the haughty smile on Brian's face was real in front of him.
“Did all the evidence you found in the house I rented directly lead to me?“ brian asked haughtily and detective Egan could only fall silent this time.
“Anybody can do that inside that rented house. Whatever you find there doesn't go straight to me because I've only been renting the house for a few months. What happened before I rented the house was not my responsibility. Isn't that so detective?“ brian asked with complete confidence.
Detective Egan now realizes dealing with what kind of smart man also ends up making his partner almost lose a lot of energy even without doing a lot of movement.
Brian indeed deserves to be one of the special forces because he is indeed very good at mastering the course of an interrogation and always answer appropriately and calmly every question that is posed to him.
But detective Egan also did not want to lose in the interrogation that became his but he chose to take a break while arranging a strategy to face Brian properly and well.
“As I told you the first time I came here, your lawyer is gone, dead. Do you need a lawyer from the state? I will prepare for you,” detective Egan offers while stalling.
“No, thank you very much detective. I can represent myself,” replied Brian with a grin that re-decorated his face.
